The club have said he’s not far of being involved though a couple of times now. If there two most recent updates remain truthful, he should be back training with us.

 

Even though he looked fine when he was kicking a football about in a couple of online videos recently (which was good to see), I just can't see anyone forking out for a player that's still recuperating from a very serious knee injury, even on loan. Especially in these uncertain times.

 

Del Boy in the championship would be a very, very funny sight. Not as a fan just from the perspective of an average bloke who appreciates that sometimes life gives you lemons and nobody wants your lemonade.

 

Has interest from Italy, France and Russia according to Watford Observer and he’s assessing his options. Other potential interest in England but the player would prefer to move abroad.

Must say, Russia would seem a pointless move. I’d rather stay in the Championship for a year personally. But if he has PL interest and that’s his least favoured, keeping him here for a year to get to a place he’s not bothered about likely doesn’t interest him at all.

I still think he will end up at AC Milan in some sort of loan deal.

 

That's the questionable bit isn't it, remember those two recalled loanees that were going to be like new signings.

Actually techically they are new signings, just not for us, the pair of w@nker$.

 

I can't see him leaving until January. Can't see anyone willing to gamble on him until he's proved his fitness.

 

I was beginning to feel the same but the Watford Observer and Leventhal seem fairly certain it’s gonna happen this week.

Will probably be one of those out of the blue deals that just happens with minimal rumour!

 

They've just signed Hauge, who plays in the same position as Delboy, so that could rule them out.

Napoli have said they are not signing anyone else and they were the 2 linked Italian clubs...
Not heard of any French or Russian links - and he’d be wasted in Russian football where I doubt the standard is much (if any) higher than the Championship save for the top 2 (or 3) clubs.

 

Huge gamble for any club imo. But what do I know.

If Sarr was to go, then having Del Boy from say Nov - Jan would be handy!

 

less so if it was from 30/11/20 to 1/1/21

 

If Geri doesn't go, I hope he'd be up for playing a few games for us to prove he's back to full fitness. Sarr and him in the Championship would feel like cheating.

 

Imagine a front three of Deulofeu Pedro Sarr.

Even if it was only for 8-10 games. We would be like the Man City of the championship.

 

I’m sure he would. Most players look delighted when they score against non-league opposition in pre-season in front of one man and his dog. The Championship is a decent competition.

Agent advice would be get out there and put yourself in the shop window.

 

Who needs defence when you can just outright make the opposition **** themselves before a ball is kicked.

 

You'd be surprised - To me and you, that makes complete sense, however there's also the fear of them getting injured again so some agents would probably advise differently.

 

It would be very Watfordy for us to score no goals with those three up front.

But seeing as he's coming back from an injury, wouldn't clubs want concrete proof that he's properly fit? You can post as many videos of yourself kicking a ball on a pitch on your own, but 10+ months without playing a single game won't be a good look

 

I would like to see that , however Gerry has lost his motivation to play for us , question is, is he profesional enough to do a job while he waits for a transfer

 

He should be, especially if he wants to get a decent new club.

 

absolutely agree, however a bit disappointed by his apparent (only dodgy websites to go by) attitude and his belief that he is too good for Watford in the championship (he is but that’s not the point),

You would have thought his agent would be telling him to shut up smile , say how much he loves playing for Watford but he would love to move back to Europe for (insert reason here)

My hope is that he doesn’t go anywhere and comes back raring to play and then by January realises we are going back up so why bother leaving. If however he is going to do a Bobby P would rather he left.

 

He'd bother leaving because even if we did, he doesn't want to play for a newly promoted team of totally unclear survival prospects as someone who will be 27 at that point; he would probably have been angling to leave if we had survived last season.

He clearly sees himself as someone who could play for, say, AC Milan, and he will be entering both his peak years and one of the last periods it's likely to be possible for him to be rewarded with a huge contract. Even if we did keep him here, storm the league and get promoted, I'd seriously wager he'd be gone next June/July/August.

 

Very true, would be nice to see him in the Championship for a couple of games though. I wouldn’t really mind him going abroad but would be disappointed if ended up going to another PL team and absolutely gutted if he ended up at Everton

 

S0unds weird but if there was a crowd to come back to I feel like maybe GD would play couple games.

He's the type to be motivated by fans screaming his name, coming to The Championship to get kicked, playing in a relegated team with lots of youngsters and new players is probably unattractive enough for a player like Deulofeu but to then come back to an empty stadium makes it that 5% more likely he'll not play a game for us this season.

 

My feeling is that it would make absolutely zero difference.

I can see that , let’s face it if your paid 20k a week or 75k a week or 100k a week you are earning a lot of money but would guess there is no moral booster like 20k people going mental when you score or go in hard for a tackle

 

If he is still here when gets back to full fitness, then it should be no play no pay, simples.

Somebody on the forum mentioned that scouts from some clubs in England don't even consider the Eliteserien! Well they're making themselves look incompetent again with JPH.
