I think he'll do well there actually. Heppy for him if he does go. A shame but then there is a reason why he's never truly 'made it' at any clubs despite his obvious talent and occasional genius. He just doesn't have the mentality to come of the bench and perform. Two or three star performances in a long season doesn't justify a place in the squad, even though I love him.
From one of the Leeds forums: Not good enough to get into that watford squad....for £3 mill? No thanks. :happy1:
I don't mind him going, but for 3 million is criminal. I'd loan him for a year, gamble that he will come into his own like Fabs, and try and get double that next summer. If we do sell him, I'd want a hefty sell on fee , although knowing Cellino, they would manage to get around that.
Fessi was the first of the loanees to sign on a permanent contract. He is the most exciting player we've had since Barnes imo. I really hope he stays, very sad day. Whoever gets him will love him.
He's played 80 games for us and scored 20 goals (as far as Wiki says) - a goal every four games would make him a ~12 goal a season striker. I've no doubt he'd have scored a fair few more than that if those 80 games were starts in a row rather than a start here and there, with a few sub appearances added in. Saying that, if we were in Leeds' position, I can see why they'd think that's a lot of money to spend on him. He's foreign, has been picking up a fair few injuries, is extremely inconsistent, has a bad reputation for simulation and, at 25, is at the age at which most players' progression has slowed. If I suddenly decided to start supporting Leeds instead of Watford, I'd be very happy with a £3mil deal, but I can definitely understand why that's the most anyone appears to be offering. It's a big risk for any team.
To Leeds though? Do we have to? Can't remember a player embracing the entire club and town like Fessi has.
Is it criminal though? He's 25 and been at almost 10 clubs already. He's not a youngster anymore. There comes a point where he can't be judged on the potential we know he has but on his performances in the present, and at present we're lucky to get 10 good performances from him in a season.
They have some very decent players though, get a bit of consistency and they could be comfortably top half. I do get annoyed every time I see Chris Wood's face. After that Almunia mistake and the way he celebrated in front of the Rookery. And he looks like this guy from Arthur.
The key to this deal in ensuring a big sell on fee in included Same as any potential sale of Fabbrini
And likewise, 3-4 million would be a good deal for Anya. No point though, because Anya is both home grown and more versatile.
FF definitely polarised us. https://jimmyarmchair.wordpress.com/2015/08/22/leeds-to-go-for-a-cheeky-nando/
