Very few 'flair' players are consistent. When they're having one of those games where nothing seems to be working for them they need to work hard for the team, not get in a strop and not give up . FF ticks all those boxes. On his day he is unplayable and my only gripe is his diving/cheating. That said, I don't think any of us can really tell if he's PL material until we give him a go.
I think they do remember FF when he scored in the fa cup and man city players went into our dressing room and said we should be in the prem,and how there fans rated him as an unbelievable player.aswell as many other comments by other fans from other clubs saying he was unplayable.
Definitely more valid points than you're making. How on earth would the Man City players know what their fans think of a Watford player 10 minutes after the match has finished? Don't suppose you have a link to back up your claims?
You fail to explain why he couldn't become a regular in our team over 3 years in the championship. Yes he had his moments which you've listed but that's not much for 3 years and you can't get away from the fact that none of our managers rated him enough to make him a regular starter despite his undoubted skills. The argument that he might be better suited for the prem is nonsense. He would typically take players on until he lost the ball. You remember well the few occasions that he didn't lose the ball. In the prem he would be up against better defenders so would simply lose the ball more often. I don't understand this great love-in with FF when we are about to let Vydra go who has made 10 times the contribution of FF in just 2 seasons and is such a brilliant striker.
Yeah although I did read that he wants a club in the south which would probably explain rejecting Leeds.
We should not let either of them go its madness,as I have said last year FF got 5 goals and 6 assists that's 10% of our success last year for someone who has not played much and the other things he has done in last 3 years,and between Vydra,FF,Abdi,Troy& soulman 70 odd goals of the 91 we scored.why are not all these players featuring??I have been to 95% of the games over the last 3 years home& away and will always rate him like many others.Hope he gets a chance in the prem because I no he will prove all the doubters wrong.
That's last season, the premier league is much much tougher, 10% of our success last year = even less chance of success this season, why hold on to sentiment? Because it's impossible to play them all at the same time? Not sure what that's got to do with anything, but here's a gold star for you.

Much though it pains me to agree with you, this is correct. He was phenomenal that day and unlucky not to put the game out of sight just before half time. However, whether it is through injury, lack of opportunity or whatever, he is too inconsistent at this level. You need all of your players to be 75% plus in the premiership or you will get punished. FF especially is too prone to trying to take on one player too many, which in the middle of an attack leaves us really vulnerable to a quick counter. Loan him somewhere where he can get a good run of games, to improve his consistency and decision making.
I've often been baffled by his lack of starting opportunities. He has an excellent game, then gets dropped for the next three. Anya runs the ball out of play on a regular basis, gets into great positions only to ***** the cross up time after time, yet he's seemingly bullet-proof. Go figure.
No, I couldn't stand McGugan. Yes, I agree that they all played a part in our success, and I thank them for that. But being good enough to get us promoted isn't necessarily good enough for keeping us in the Prem (see Burnley, Norwich for recent examples), you CANNOT be sentimental in football, if those players were offered double/triple their wages to go play elsewhere i'm sure they'd do it, if they're not sentimental to us, why should it work both ways? If Forestieri is that good, how comes his only offer so far has been from Leeds? Why haven't Arsenal or even Aston Villa or Palace been calling? How can every scout, the people in charge of the club, the coaches and management who watch him EVERY SINGLE DAY be wrong, yet you see something apparently everyone else has missed? Still waiting for the link where the City players said their fans thought Forestieri was a really good player in the dressing room.
I think Troy,Vydra,Abdi,FF,Soulman are all good enough for the prem,And with all the other players added the goals should be flowing,Hopefully we will see a more attacking Watford again soon.We also have a much better pool of players to chose from than the likes of burnley etc.The last few years it's the defence that has let us down now it's the best I have seen so far.Need to get the right balance in the team and I am sure we will stay up and start scoring lots of goals again.
I agree (although i'm on the fence about FF being good enough for the prem, a play-off chasing championship side maybe, but not sure he's consistent enough for a prem side), but it's impossible to fit all of them into a team, so why keep all of them? Just doesn't make sense. So one (or more) has to go, and since FF is the worst of that bunch, it makes sense that he's the one to leave.
Agreed - more logic needs to be applied rather than emotion. We need four/Five players for the two positions - AM (Abdi/Jurado/Ighalo/Diamanti) and ST (Deeney/Ighalo) Vydra and FF to go.
