The one player that is just a smidgin short of being the next Messi should have played against Brom and should stay at Watford. My honest opinion. There simply must be room for him.
That should read 'Gueds, Battocchio, Bond and possibly Angella, Vydra, Pudil and Fessi'. Not going to pretend I don't feel disappointed to see all these players we've grown attached to heading off, though. To put a positive spin on it, I seem to remember I had a similar feeling when the likes of Mariappa, Martin Taylor etc left to be replaced by the same players who are now leaving. I've little doubt that in twelve months time we're going to feel the same about Jurado et al as we currently do about our current lot.
Let's be honest ... He is a skillful player. Good finisher? No. Physical? No. Excellent passer and retention? No. Good defensively? Definitely not. He's had a handful of excellent games in 3 years, that is it. He has looked good or ineffective otherwise. We can do better. I agree it is hard, but Jurado is 5x the player Fessi will ever be. I will be sad to see him go, but trust the owners SQF. If Vydra leaves on the other hand ...
I am exactly of the same mind. Really don't mind if Fessi leaves, but I think letting Vydra go would be a big mistake. Maybe I could understand us loaning him out, but selling him? I don't think so.
Matter of opinion but I'd say he's possibly our best tackler. He's always nicking the ball off of defenders but then he as often as not runs into trouble. It's only the latter aspect that keeps him from being truly fantastic (well that and that he hurries his shots) but defend he definitely does.
There's something about Fessi that I love. Maybe it's his boyhood arrogance when he beats a man and then does it again. Maybe it's his child like tantrums. Maybe it's his cross to Hogg that led to the Deeneeeeey goal. ...But he's not good enough on a regular basis
Love him to bits, but he's long gone!! Squad of 30, 2 more to apparently come in, hasn't made the match squads yet.. Add in Diamanté who's come in since last match... Plus he obviously likes Layun up there ! And Kiki recons the midfielder coming WONT be a holding as he has 3 but will add a different dimension, so prob playing more central/attacking..... Gutted, but with only 17 non HGs... he's off ! My biggest fear is for Vydra and Angella !! They aren't going to hang around playing 10 mins every 2/3 matches..
Dunno. With his enthusiastic chasing and harrying, FF makes things happen. Jurado is lovely to watch, but so far his dead-ball kicking, shooting and sometimes wayward distribution suggest that he too may lack an end-product. Maybe I'm wrong, I've only seen him once, but I wouldn't say so far that he's a massive upgrade on FF.
No. It increases their market value if the Pozzos want to sell, and makes them available to Udinese or Granada if they don't. I'm not bothered if Angella goes. He's OK, nothing more, but I'd be very sorry to lose Vydra.
I watch these goals and really don't want him to leave. Always plays with passion, sometimes this shows too much and results in petulant behaviour. Honestly thought the premiership would suit his style of play, but if the club think otherwise then its a real shame. All the best Nando.......I'll miss the little dude. p.s. I still maintain that given a run of games he would have reached double figures in every season,
According to a SUN journo, Leeds have bid 3m for him. I would like to think we may get nearer to 4 or 5 for Nando. Rose tinted specs and all that.
i honestly think we should keep him. maybe rose tinted specs but i adore him and all his football trickery! (apart from his ability to finish) plus. dont sell to dirty leeds at any price.
The yorkshire post also highlights the link between the Leeds owner and their former sporting director Salerno who it was reported (by Sky in June) was moving to us possibly as a consultant. With no news I can find about him being on the staff I assume he is indeed a consultant. Despite the famed Pozzo network it seems possible this guy may have been involved in the transfers of the three moves from Italy-and with a large dose of speculation might underpin this possible transfer. As highlighted on another thread the long term contracts handed to players helps sweeten them and supports a sale price mid way/early in a contract- removing the issue of expiring contracts like AG at Palace
Andre Gray - £9m. Fernando Forestieri - £3m. Not saying that either of those players are worth nearly £10m but something isn't right when you can get 3 Fernandos for 1 Andre Gray.
Read somewhere the club doesn't want to sell, they want a straightforward loan and no buyout clause. Don't take that as gospel... can't remember where I read it.
Well if we need to cut the squad down and the interested parties can't offer the sufficient money then a loan is the next best option.
Bearing in mind how well he tends to perform in Yorkshire, it's no surprise that Leeds and Sheffield Wednesday are supposedly the two teams in for him.
There are many, many players with his one off game ability floating around the leagues. Do it every game and then he might be in the class of messi. By the way I truly love the little sod but in the words of Billy Bragg I dont feel sad about letting him go, I just feel bad about letting him know.
He needs a season of regular games in the championship. He needs to play every weekend, then we'll get a solid impression of his potential.
http://www.wdsport.co.uk/2015/08/could-be-five-out-and-three-in-at-watford-by-the-end-of-the-month/ He'll be gone soon. Decent update on here, some exciting names we've been looking at.
You don't do him justice, there's actually no Championship forwards near him for ability (but Diego comes close). He's not at all suited to the Championship because he gets zero protection from referees but he still stands out every most times he plays. Better decision making comes with more time on the pitch.
Would be absolutely gutted if Fernando went. Think he is brilliant and so far I haven't seen any of our other players able to do what he does I.e. Beat his man from a standing start. If we get relegated while fabs and fessi rip up the championship then a few people at the club would deserve to get the chop.
Read the update from WD Sport. The club don't want to lose him but if bids come in that are around their valuation of him then they'll be considered. It's standard Pozzo practice. I don't think he'll make the squad and will end up out on loan for the season, which matches up with some things I've seen today about Watford apparently telling Leeds it's a season loan with no option to buy or they can forget it. I think Matej will also stay, I don't think we're going to get a bid of £10m+ for him and it sounds like he won't be going on loan as they'd have to bring a replacement in. That also ties in with Freedman saying today that Watford have told them it's a permanent deal or nothing for Vydra.
Of all the players in our squad it's him who we needed to come on last Saturday to make the difference. No one will convince me that he doesn't have a role to play for us this season.
I agree he could have produced some magic. Unfortunately, he could have also tried to beat one player too many, lost the ball, West Brom then break and score the winner. Which is his problem, he's too hit and miss and loses the ball in dangerous areas.
He was fecking awful when he came on last season at Brighton and Fulham. To me he's a confidence player who doesn't fit a super sub role. Either plays regularly most weekends or sell.
Permanent deal agreed with Leeds. Between £3m and £4m. Up to the player now. https://twitter.com/PhilHayYEP/status/635028067157716992
