Absolutely gutted. Big mistake I feel. When Fernando was given a run of games he was fantastic - as with Abdi his injuries let him down. Last season when he was played behind the two strikers he absolutely destroyed Reading and Joka would have had problems leaving him out. He came on against Wigan the following game but then he picked up that nasty injury. I want to make this point regarding the issue of him giving the ball away: While it is true that he did give the ball away at times, it has to be remembered that he was often used as an impact sub - due to the fact that he was on the pitch for a limited number of minutes and because we all know what he can do when he is on his game, it only magnified the instances when he lost possession. When Troy lost possession in games it was less magnified, as we know what type of a player Troy is, and he played the full 90 minutes of each match on most occasions, so his loss of possession wasn't focused upon as much. We have seemingly replaced Fernando with an aging Diamanti - I know which of the two I would rather have in the squad.

Brian Pollard was brilliant down the wing, great crosses and corners and got stuck in. Sadly a callous Graham Taylor decided that promotion meant we should replace him with a better player, and of course GT sold him for a profit. Such is the way!
This is leaving a bad feeling, but the best bit is Fessi went to Sheffield Wednesday and not Leeds United like Tommy Smith went to Portsmouth and not Brendon Rodgers and Reading.
Not sure of the fuss with losing foristieri. Talented but very frustrating. Didn't work hard enough, held onto ball too long and poor finisher (hence scoring record). Also disciplined a couple of times for drinking. What we have lost is a character in dressing room and someone that loved the fans, helping with community work etc We have signed a much better player in Jurado. Will go down in history as first permanent signing under Pozzos.
Lets not knock the lad, he put his heart into the club. But he's 4th choice striker and we can only have 17 NHGs. I'm sure if we were allowed 25 NHGs we would have kept him.

Genuinely gutted that Nando has gone. Even more so that it is on a permanent deal. Surely it would have been better to have loaned him, let him get regular game time and assess his progress at the end of the season when we could be a Championship team again and need someone of his talent. At the moment I don't see that Diamanti or Berghuis are any better than Fessi and deserve a place in the squad in frontof him. I will always remember Nando for the enthusiasm he showed right from joining us and that he was the first of the loans to sign permanently. He had games where he was a joy to watch and when he came on in the Play off final he gave us all hope. Thanks Fernando and good luck.

I don't think he ever will either.Getting rid of FF is one of worst decision ever made by the club in my 36 years of watching.Never been so gutted at a player leaving.I think it is absolutely disgusting he was never given a chance.
Try making any kind of comparison after at least a season. I have personally seen flashes from Jurado that excite me.
Im actually really annoyed that we have sold Fernando just because the manager has no intention of using him in the premier league. It would have been better to have loaned him out for a year as we have done with lesser talents. Clearly there is no room for sentiment in football anymore as even a player who embraces and loves playing for the club and plays with joy, skill and gives entertainment ( although is inconsistent) is surplus to requirements. I think Fernando should at least have been given a chance in the premier league rather than giving Jurado seemingly a whole season to come good even if he hasn't shown enough signs yet that he will be a powerful premier league asset. Jurado is 29 - its unlikely that he is going to improve by the time he's adapted to English football. Also Fernando is only 25 - thers a good chance he will improve and if QSF doesn't last beyond this season and we bring in a manager who took a shine to Fernando then I find that a real shame. Fernando deserved to at least stay on the clubs books.
A chance? He's had 3 years of chances and since July to audition for this head coach in particular. And, although I suspect the move was done by then, he was given a final chance on Tuesday night and did his normal act of fluffing a simple chance. He's a player suited to the Championship. It's much more forgiving and chances come like buses if you're prepared to get in the right positions often enough.
He has proved enough to me and many others in them 3 years to show he should of been given a chance against Southampton and wba and was not given it.The game was crying out for him.
