Lots of chat about Danny Drinkwater to Valencia on loan as they're looking for a cheaper option. Would be bonkers if they chose to sign him instead of Capoue. You can either have the best bottom half of the Premier League midfielder for the last few years, or some bloke that has barely played and has all manner of attitude and personal problems. They must be absolutely strapped for cash if they go for the latter.
Drinkwaters wages are three times Capoue's which they apparently can't afford so I suspect this is rubbish..
Absolutely mental someone like Fulham haven't come in for him! Would walk in to half of the sides in the Prem.
Hmmm. Normally I’d agree for a player of his ability. But he asked to leave. I’d rather not pander to players like that.
I have a feeling we'll be stuck with at least one player who probably doesn't want to be here, like either Caps or Geri. I'm hoping its due to lack of interest rather than valuations not being met, that way the club could use it as an incentive to get them playing, and performing well.
Surely this has to be resolved soon? Valencia have to be the biggest bunch of ****s out there. ‘We have no money but give us one of your best players for nothing, or we will make sure through the media that he kicks up a fuss about leaving.’ Pay up or get the **** out, you cheapskates!
This is dragging on so long, starting to wonder whether there is an outside chance that the likes of Capoue and maybe Del Boy will be with us after the deadline
By the sounds of what the club said the other day, Capoue must be pretty close to the door (not saying it's a done deal, it may have hit a snag, but it seems closer to a done deal than say Deulofeu who might just end up staying for now)
I should think he'll knuckle down if no deal is agreed. Players asking for a transfer isn't unusual after relegation, can't hold that against him. Can't imagine him refusing to play or any of that stuff.
The loss of Capoue is the saddest departure of relegation. For me he would have played a massive part of this seasons promotion campaign. But it is what it is. Now we just need to make as big a financiallly beneficial deal to us as we can. He moves on and has a future career that nobody takes any interest in.
Roy Moore (who’s always pretty spot on such his links with the club) says he has asked to rejoin the squad and get us back up. Would be massive news, by far our best player and would make this league look easy.
One of the very best midfielders in the division. This would be absolutely massive for our season and would instantly transform that midfield.
So we’re not p****** the league in a boat at all. It’s a ruddy ship with a Capoue engine. Lovely stuff. The Champions’ Ship.
Yes please. Hopefully he was getting frustrated at watching Chabs faff about and felt the need to show him how it's done.
He will join Valencia, no question. Just a question of whether we can extract any € from hard up Valencia or he leaves on a free.
The longer this went on without any progressive stories linking him away, the more I thought he could be staying with us. Only the official announcement telling everyone of his transfer request made me think there was something concrete in he was going. But yet again (if he does stay) the club have sent out another message which steered everyone down the wrong path. It would be brilliant if he stays with us and all will quickly be forgiven I suspect, as he is a really good positive guy. I don't blame players like this, who have only really one more transfer in them, to look for a move in our current circumstance. If he stays, it would be a major boost to the squad.
Adam Leventhal @AdamLeventhal · 13m #WatfordFC transfer update Capoue to Valencia one to keep an eye on, but appears they need to move on Kondogbia before bringing anyone in & Watford won’t sell on cheap. Dele-Bashiru injury (absence TBC) adds extra element to decision & keeping Capoue is option.
Yes a complete revelation from Adam as usual. "won't sell on the cheap"....yeah right Adam, there's your credibility gone in one statement. We know we will sell for next to nothing to get an unhappy well-paid player off the payroll. "keeping Capoue is an option".....no **** sherlock. Keeping a contracted player "is an option". This is purely a warning to Valencia that if they don't pay something/anything, we will keep him...which we won't.
