    Nothing from these hapless clowns.

    NOTHING

A year or so ago it was all “best of the rest” and “make the ground bigger” and “best scouting network in the world.”

Now it’s silence as the squad they cobbled together prove to be weak and feeble. The ground will be down to 13k attendances, “say no to no shows” will be replaced by begging letters to take season tickets and discount offers to all, as the fans desert them. The scouting network is show up as a shambles that siphons millions away from Watford FC in return for an ageing ramshackle mess of a squad.

The interest on Pozzo loans to the club will still be owed, high rates when the rest of the economy is borrowing at record sustained lows.

No doubt this will be followed with post of “but but Baz” etc etc, save it I am not interested. This is about Pozzo et al who is no way the infallible owner some WFC fans think he is. This is the guy who has scant regard for managers and people, treating them awfully. He would not pay the players the bonus’ they were due - causing the downing of tools this season. He lets Giraldi undermine managers. He has built (I use the term loosely) an utter disgrace of a playing squad.

I suppose we have a Meccano temporary cheap stand though.

  2. Can people just **** off with the bonus whinging. Those ******* clowns in the squad don't deserve their wages let alone bonuses. **** em.

Correct if your employer agrees to pay should certain targets be attained they have no obligation to pay out.

This was a situation brought about entirely by Pozzo and he should be held accountable.

Sadly a good few on here will defend Pozzo. It’s laughable.

There have been a lot of downsides of the Pozzo ownership that we have all been guilty of happily overlooking as we were getting results on the pitch - no investment/promotion in youth, poor communication, countless dodgy deals (Zuniga, Mbaye, Gueye), and dragging the club name through the mud (HSBC letter, sacking managers for the sake of it).

When the good results disappear, the scrutiny on them will only become greater amongst fans.

You'd be hard pressed to find a good decision made recently by the board, but sadly the 'but Baz' people have a point, there are so many shysters involved in football these days...

The Pozzo's paid Baz next to nothing for the club and as at June 19 had £4m of loans in the club-that was the extent of their commitment in £ based on the last public information

We have sent c £33m to Udinese for players and "solidarity" payments in last 3 years.

We owed £50m in outstanding transfer fees and £70m to an unconnected Loan company plus have borrowed against the 19/20 TV money (post the June 19 accounts) to help pay for Sarr.

I would say Pozzo has very little riding on our survival based on owing £120m + to others

I can't believe we had given ourselves a fighting chance come the January window but were still desperate for a striker and at least one CB... they ended up giving us an absolute dud winger from Udinese instead.

I believe this will bring about the end of an era so many are wishing for. Many, many mistakes have been made over the past few years and I totally understand the frustration on here. They don’t learn from their big mistakes, it’s pretty unforgivable. Don’t need to go into them all, we all know them. However as long as we aren’t saddled with a load of debt come the next era we do owe the Pozzo family for a fantastic few years and my best day out at Wembley since 99. I’m very sad. I think more than anything I’m despondent about the state of the game now, personified by our wonderful, family club. Mediocre players picking up £70k a week on the bench, flouting public safety rules with little care for the fans who would give anything to represent the club. So sad, struggling to deal with it to be honest.

I rarely post on this forum, but I have to say you have summed up my emotions.

I happened to be working at the London stadium and witnessed the West Ham v Watford game there. What struck me was the absence of fans made me think of the Graham Taylor quote: “football is a game for the man on the terraces”, well is palpably isnt. It’s for the world wide audiences, not the local fans. The thoughts of the authorities: Too much money to cancel these game, sod the fans!

Then the abject effort from our players embarrassed me. The last two times we graced the top division we had little talent, but we went down fighting. These guys (collectively) couldn’t care less.

I will always support Watford FC, but I have lost some passion for the club seeing what the Premier League is about and realising the lack of care about our club from too many players. The 20 year reunion (Wembley 1999) reminded me what passion we had from players in the past

Even is we stayed up, what is there to look forward to?

    Your post makes me sad.

The club is rotten to the core.

I won’t be going next season, certainly I won’t have a ST. I am done with them.

Ironically I had one through all the crap of previous owners and poor times.

This is not the Watford I recognise.

Meanwhile Burnley were desperately trying to offload Vydra to Rangers on loan. Didn't matter though - we had Andre Gray as our backup striker after all.

I really hope they come out and admit their mistakes.

One of the saddest things about this season is that they have completely undone all the good work they’ve done. I’d include Deeney in that, is a Watford legend but his status gets tarnished with every awful performance and every cringeworthy statement he gives to the press.

When they first started it felt like they had a genuine plan in place to make Watford a better football club. The ‘model’ was great and successful. Over the last 2 or 3 years they seem to have abandoned the model across both clubs and just stuck a finger in the air and hoped for the best. For me I pinpoint it to when Silva was sacked. I don’t think we’ve been the same since then - maybe they lost trust in the system after that?

Going down will hopefully give them a massive wake up call and I hope we will reevaluate and put a proper plan in place, like Norwich did, to be successful again.

Wait where the **** is that Eric Roy gone?! This is what I mean, just shady opaque handling of a football club and what I can only interpret as mugging off the fans intelligence.

I’m getting more wound up as the night progresses.

I can't stick the knife in, and I won't. These guys will be hurting as much as us....if not more as it's going to be a serious financial hit for them (well Gino and the Pozzo's)

But, f&ck me.......this season has been a serious sh1tshow from start to finish. I absolutely hate what Watford have turned into. It's f&cking hideous.

We're going to have to start all over again. Not sure they'll have the fight and desire to do it. We shall see if they want to stick around and go again.

This may be the end of the line for the Pozzo's involvement at Watford, and if it is, then I will thank them. Not for this season of course, but we're in a much better place and a much better club for their association with it.

It may seem like dark days now, and it is, but it's dark days in the Premier League, not League Two.

I do hope they stick around because I believe they have the ability to get us promoted again. However, I'm not too convinced they have the wherewithal to turn us into a vibrant Premier League club, but they did give it a go.

For a club the size of Watford to remain in the Premier League for 5 seasons is a very good achievement. Now it's all but over, we'll have to accept it and hope for a better tomorrow.

Hi all first time posting on here

This thread has really interested me as up until this season I was always one of those who appreciated the Pozzos for giving us a future and as such saw past some of their indiscretions as I always felt they had a plan and the club at heart.

Gradually though this has become less and less and what has become more prevalent is the way the Premier League actually ruins football clubs and trashes the game for club fans - project restart being about anything other than mitigating lost revenue is toss.
Money can bring out the worst in people and Watford as an club have fallen foul of this. Whether it be the dropping of Z-Cars for Elton John in the hope we get a part as extras in a film last season (honestly that John Barnes sing song was excruciating), to the no-show letter, to the steak bar to the American Airlines Sponsorship presentation, this club has completely lost its identity.
Whether this be down to the Pozzos or whomever advises them, there needs to be a lot of work to get the fans back onside, let alone rebuild the reputation of the club so badly damaged by poor decision made this season - yet I worry that this wont be realised such is their conviction in their own minds and we will instead find ourselves on the slide.

I've been thinking about this argument and it's great and it's true. There is a high chance we may no longer have existed before The Pozzo's saved us.

However, we're going down into The Championship with a load of junk in our squad, no manager, no playing style, incredibly high wages and I don't care or look into finances like that but if posters on here are to be believed a lot of debt?

    That's not what I wanted.

I wanted a sustainable club, where relegation doesn't have any chance of "ruining" us. A club where relegation is sad and embarrassing but not a potential disaster.

So what's been the point of all that money and exposure?

The lack of comment from the top is just crazy, and it's creating a huge divide, which is getting wider by the day.

It's not too late for them to turn it around, but saying nothing is going to cause resentment. They've brought this on themselves, by shutting out the fans, so I have very little sympathy if things quickly blow up in their faces from here on in.
