very enjoyable thread chaps, gotta agree with PYA a load on his comments.

Like most of u, our performances haven't been that bad most of the season, and it has been very frustrating coming away with nothing from some games when we fully deserved 3 points. But i do feel, Aidy is building a strong squad for the future, not just for survival..I'm quite looking forwad to seeing Marlon and Kabba together next season. As Aidy would say, alot of positives from this campaign and alot to take into next season. eg..Bang BAng, Bouazza, jordan, aidy mariappa..

IMO Shittu is the most likely to go, but there aren't even any rumours about him.

You can compare the GT Prem season positively to this. Yes, we were relegated, but were in a very sound financial state at the end of it. The fact that GT left and the board made the grave mistake of buying in ****** has nothing to do with it.

This time round Aidy will be backed by the board and will stay. We will be in a position 100 times better than if we didn't go up. Look at the facts:
1. If we didn't go up we would be over £30Mil worse off.
2. We still would have sold Ash, but for no more than £4Mil.
3. We wouldn't have Big Dan.

Also, remember how 'well' we played without Marlon last season. Trevor Benjamin anyone? We stunk on ice - you can't tell me that Ashikodi, Priskin or Hoskins wouldn't have walked into the team at that point.

A hugely enjoyable thread thus far. For what it's worth I believe the club, despite our current league position and probable relegation, are heading in the right direction compared to where we were a couple of seasons ago. Should we end up playing Championship football next season the challenge will be the expectations (both ours and our opponents) that we will be pack leaders rather than the whipping boys of the division. A tall order and I have to rely on trust that Aidy is assembling a squad of players that will do us and the club proud. Assuming we are successful it is my belief that attracting the type of player needed to sustain a position in the Prem will be less of a problem. Or have I just got my head up my arse?

What I really wanted to know is that if we are McDonalds, Blunts are Burger King and Reading are KFC, does that make West Ham Pizda Hut?

 

I'd say that Reading are more like Pizza Express or Pret a Manger.

I can't stand KFC and I haven't eaten there for over 10 years.

Personally I have no anger towards Watford FC. At the time when Aidy was brought in as manager I felt angry. Angry that Ray Lewington, a person who I believed was a decent and honest bloke, and who had managed Watford with naff all to spend, was then rewarded with the f off treatment. That pissed me off. It needed to happen I guess so that we could move forward. Look where we were then, look where we are now. I try to keep that thought in the front of my mind when thinking about our current situation.

This season I have been left bewildered and angered by three performances I have witnessed, Sheffield United, Liverpool, Bolton, all at home. That's as far as it goes. I could now blab on about a combination of punching above our weight and bad luck but I can't be bothered. Suffice to say I am proud of the majority of performances, if not the results, this season and if we are to be relegated we can do so with our heads held high.

I'm cool with the club at the moment. Roll on Saturday.

 

theres a difference between the whole 'i'm not so certain the right decisions have always been made' group and the 'the board are corrupt. they need to be sacked. they want us to go down' group, which this thread probably dosent highlight too well. i say probably because i can only remember so many pages.

I had no fuss with the sacking of Ray Lewington, as I felt we were only heading one way under him. Bless him he tried his hardest but we were only getting worse. Huffing and puffing and blowing nobody's house down. I think the board moved to give us a chance to avoid what looked like certain relegation. However, I was miffed with the appointment of Boothroyd so I guess it shows what I know

To which the answer is clearly NO because, although there have been a few poor performances and we are a little bewildered about how the new squad members will be used, most people don't feel angry enough to want to storm the boardroom just yet.

Anyway back to the point in question, fair comments guys. I'd just like to make this point too.... whilst I may come across as doom and gloom a fair bit of the time thats because my team are struggling at the foot of the table and its doing my head in.
If anyone can remember the start of last season on the fiscal boards, there was a "where will we end up" prediction league to which my entry was sixth! I was upbeat and positive back then as I genuinely thought we had a good chance and sure enough, up we went.
I havent enjoyed this season though.... its been utter pain to watch.
Boothroyd got a bit too carried away IMO at the beginning of the season going ON and ON about how we wouldnt go down. Whilst I understand his need to motivate his team, he did over do it a little bit.

We're bottom, absolutely rooted.. i wont be at Wet Spam but I'll be tuned in on three counties. Boothroyd says this week he's gone away, had a think, and come back... what that means, i guess we'll find out in a couple of hours.
