Just read somewhere we have my friend aka not my friend at all, Kevin Friend reffing this game. We might as well not bother going if true. Anyone know / confirm who is officiating?
It is indeed your unfriend: http://www.football-league.co.uk/ne...ague-match-official-appointments-2366631.aspx
Haha what an idiot I am! To think I was actually thinking about this game earlier in regard to tactics, team selections and form. This, like Bournemouth, will be decided by a moment of absolute mindf**kery by one of the worst referees in the country. All we can do is hope that for once we're on the right side of the unfathomably clueless decision.
Is this opinion based on our record in matches he's reffed (not good but then three were against Chelsea and Man City) or because of specific decisions that have cost us? Was there an incident against Hull? The red card?
It was Kevin Friend who disallowed that perfectly good ****tu goal and sent of John Eustace for nothing against Dull in the Play Offs? Well ****.
Me too. Before Ipswich I was thinking this could very well happen, such was our great run of form. Still might of course. This is a predictions thread. Nobody knows.
OK. I was out of the country at the time and less 'au fait' with WFC issues than is currently the case. Just asking ...
If Iglaho played the last game to get the ring rustiness out which is likely then I would like him to start. Putting him back on the bench makes no sense in this instance.
Let's go for broke. If Abdi's not back, play Vydra just behind Deeney and Ighalo. Flat back 4 with Motta and Pudil as full-backs. Watson, Tozser and Gued in midfield. Let's storm this weekend.
Vydra isn't a number 10. Forestieri has to play there if Abdi isn't fit. Agree with the midfield and fullbacks.
Have a feeling Connolly and Hoban will be full-backs, simply to nullify the threats from Derby's wing. Slav has done this before and they are better defenders than the likes of Pudil etc.
We'll play a rigid system looking to expose them on the counter, which is precisely the way to go. Wouldn't play the diamond I don't think, they're very good at overlapping at pace & with us sitting very deep we don't want that without extra cover. I think I'd go 352.
Sigh! No! I'll condense it for you! I said these two games are season defining as it stands. However - should we not get the results we want, they do not carry the sole blame for us not getting promoted. Easier to understand?
I fly out to Slovenia tomorrow for a weekend city break. Have told the rest of our party that we must find an Irish bar (or anywhere with Sky Sports) so I can watch the Derby game!! Luckily I'm back in time to get to the Boro game on Monday!!
I have a feeling i'll sit in front of telly with a chilli and a huge glass/bottle of red and endure a tedious and excruciatingly tense 94 minutes. I hate having Watford in my blood sometimes.
Yeah, I was assuming Fessi was still injured. Re Wfcloyal, I think we're a bit limited with most of our full-back options, but in a flat back 4 I'd prefere Pudil. I'm not a huge Anya fan. He only ever seems to build you up, only to disappoint.
Interesting comments about the ref. We've had some genuinely incompetent ones recently. I'd just love, for once, to have a game where we're not all talking about how the ref affected the result. I can take defeat by the better team or because of our own shortcomings. Trouble is, when they know they're on TV they tend to be even worse.
I'm only joking I think though we have been seriously consistent against the lower teams this season. When all is said and done if we get 1 point from Derby/Boro and don't go up it probably has to be said that it is the "big" games that have cost us.
Was thinking 5 out of 7 wins in the run in would be enough , however if we lose to derby and boro , I think the points total needed for promotion would be 89 , and we would be stuck on 87 , absolutely crazy scenario we find our selves in . Entertainment wise wont be nearly as good in the prem , still thats where the dosh is so thats where we have to go.
Yeah I agree, it'll be interesting to see how Connolly performs, hopefully his experience will be an added advantage. To the team: PLEASE thrash Derby on Friday so we don't have the added stress :love2: watching the Boro game Monday!!! Make it an extra great Easter!!! COYH!
Clapping the fans is the only advantage over Anya that Pudil has. Both are wingers playing as defenders, both aren't that great at crossing and the only thing that saves Anya defensively is his pace.
According to twitter (dunno how reputable this guy is but Derby fans seem to believe him) but Hendricks,Thorne and Martin are all available for tomorrow. Source- ketchup (do your own work)
I saw that on SSN last night. As someone has mentioned before, they may well be available but will they be match fit? We shall see.
