You are probably right actually, and my examples of Messi & Ronaldo were not the best. The point generally was though that the majority of clubs would sell the majority of their players if enough was offered. More than enough in the way of majorities to make it the norm. As a total aside (hope others forgive this intrusion), in a previous thread you said you were a tenant at a particular house once and your landlord looked favourably on you as you looked after the house 'as your own'. What did you mean by that precisely, that you just maintained the house or improved it or what and who paid for the work and/or materials?
It might meet the club's valuation / contracted clause and if so it should be his decision. But why would Troy go to a club unlikely to stay up next season?
It makes little financial sense to buy him now. His value to us is greater than market price, and we have just had a cash windfall and so have no need to sell. I think a 15+ offer would be tempting for the Pozzos, if they could bring in Gestede for around half the price. But Newcastle need to bring in players in all positions, and I cannot see them offering anywhere near that for an unproven top level striker.
Nail meet head. Shteve has apparently been given £25m to re-shape the squad. Can't imagine he'd ***** over half of it on Deeney when there's a lot more wrong with their squad.
I believe it's part of the rules in La Liga that every player must have a minimum fee clause, but Messi's was threatened to be activated by PSG when Barca were after one of their players, was hinted at around €300M
That post must've been months ago. Basically we did decorate and fix things as they broke ourselves, kept the place spotless and maintained the garden beyond just mowing the lawn and raking the leaves. The landlord consider us dream tenants because he wasn't spending as much on wear and tear repairs and his house was remaining in good condition.
It was months ago and I couldn't even begin to think where to find the thread. I had a landlord in Acton that paid for the materials for anything I wanted to do in the way of improvements (tiling the kitchen, bathroom etc) if I provided the labour. I just wondered if he was the norm or exceptionally good.
There's a report saying Newcastle hope Deeney interest will lower Austin Price. Makes sense - brief the Mail that they want Deeney in a hope the QPR get twtichy and lower their price.
They'll end up getting Austin. Austin won't be at QPR next season, so at some point they'll have to take the highest bid, circa £10m probably.
Never been that keen on Austin, but he certainly finds the net consistently. Has his dodgy shoulder healed properly?
Now DM are suggesting Swansea are in for him as well http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-3129950/Swansea-set-rival-Newcastle-prolific-Watford-striker-Troy-Deeney-look-add-attacking-options-summer.html However I don't know how they could suggest this without being ITK:
Isn't the saying on here that the Fail is 'spot on' regarding Watford? That being said, id find it very strange if Deeney didn't want to start the season as a Watford player. Unless part of the deal to stay last summer was that if we went up and a 'big club' came a-knocking we'd at least listen to the offer. Personally feel that finishing above Newcastle should be an aim next season.
Why bother leaving to another mid or lower Prem club unless the wages on offer are huge? And if he went to an upper Prem side he's probably not get many games. Can't see it myself.
Only if we could find a ready made replacement that was likely to help us stay up and get the increased TV deal money next season. I don't think we can replace Deeney in this regard.
I don't expect us to sell Deeney this summer, because even £15m would probably be deemed to be too much for a player to have yet to play in the top division. However if he starts well next season it could potentially be a nervous end of August.
I`m guessing Troy will see how things go if we get derailed and are bottom at xmas he may leave in winter window. He will still have plenty of suitors then I`m sure. He helped get us to the prem , be nice if he played in yellow a little while longer .
Alsooooo....surely he'd be less likely to leave in January if we are struggling? The Pozzos aren't about to give up and let the rats off the ship, they're more likely to strengthen, given that they have reiterated time and time again their plan to keep Watford in the Prem. Doesn't seem like Deeney would have much to gain from that either, being relegated doesn't ever seem to harm goalscoring strikers' chances of a transfer; look at this summer, Danny Ings already gone to Liverpool and Charlie Austin essentially a foregone conclusion for leaving.
These ****s at HTIC speculate that the reason Deeney might move to Newcastle is that he only has 12 months left on his contract with us, and Newcastle will offer him more contract security. Not that I was taking this **** site seriously, but I will never open another link.
I'm sorry, I had to read it to see it for myself. The **** who wrote it says that the Flores appointment will mean Troy will be working in a less familiar environment. Troy Deeney, who has been at Watford for 5 years....
http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/sport/everton-fc-transfers-everton-eye-9485607 £20m is the asking price..... that should end all the messing
Deeney to Newcastle would be a good fit for him, and if offered, he should take that all day long over Everton. Troy would be adored on Tyneside; they love a traditional number nine, Troy has already bigged up their fans and culture. He gets Newcastle but until he lives there, he won't really understand.u Their squad needs an alpha male with a strong English heart - Troy is yer man. His money will go further there and there are decent schools for his kids. There's some really nice places to live and he could go and spar with Glenn McCrory. They love their boxing as much as he does. He'd become a folk hero and never have to work again. Our loss but he deserves the move up if he wants it.
Seriously, what the **** are you talking about? He's loved here, we need a 'strong English heart' and of course he won't have to work again, he's a Premier a League footballer. Let's hope Troy doesn't read the forum but then again I'm sure he knows we have some strange fans.
Yeah but that's my point. He's going to leave, so he'll end up going for less, they're not in a position to be stubborn.
