In Ched Evans' defense eek I don't think there was any mention of drugging her just that she was pissed out of her brain and after Clayton McDonald finished he got on while some of his mates filmed it from outside, although I agree with the point you are trying to make.

 

Not personally no but having spoken to him on a few occasions and is a lovely bloke. He is a proud Dad to his 3 year old, and he is the one who I feel for the most. You can't judge him like people are doing

 

I just hope he isn't a habitual criminal who accepts arrest as an occupational hazard, and presumably accepts imprisonment in the same casual manner.

Adams was a good footballer. No comparison. Jacko syndrome - Jacko was a good singer, people let **** slide because he had talent.

Seriously though in any instance Adams never displayed a level of violence that Deeney has. Deeney hasn't declared alcoholism either.

Kicking someone unconsciously on the floor isn't dissimilar to raping an unconscious female. Both require an element of sickening abuse.

 

The quality of player should not come into it. If someone has done wrong then they deserve to be punished accordingly, not by how good at their profession they might be.

Tony Adams regularly went out and got into fights with people and only declared that he was an alcoholic years after he went to prison. As far as we are aware Deeney has only done this sort of thing once.

The last line is quite frankly laughable. If you don't see a clear division between kicking someone on the floor (although obviously a bad thing to do) and raping someone then I genuinely worry for you.

Also, where does it say that the student was unconscious?

 

As I've said before, I wonder how a highly paid professional whose performance depends to a degree on his fitness be out in the early hours of a Thursday with a game coming up on Saturday.

 

I thought it was a Tuesday morning this happened? Still would have had training a few hours later. Shame it wasn't a Thursday, he stays down here in Watford on Thursdays and Fridays before a game so we wouldn't be discussing any of this!

As for 'proud dad to his 3 year old son', as soon as I had kids I haven't ****ed about or put myself in situations where I could let them down or miss out on any part of their life.

Adams was a **** yes, but as already outlined, I am certain he didn't behave like Troy is described to have behaved. Adams is old school and wouldn't have piled in ott with his boys just for ****s and giggles.

I am not saying rape is the same as what Troy has done, I am simply saying both acts are despicable, and not as distanced as you seem so intent to make it appear. Key factors here - defenceles, unconscious, outnumbered. Yet he offered that person more violence? Not sure why you are defending the bloke. If he had given the bloke brain damage would you still sympathise with him? He hasn't had the full sentence and in my opinion he's been lucky with what will most probably be 20 weeks.

Reading the report about this in the Birmingham newspaper, makes Troy in particular sound like a complete and utter ****.

 

The guy goes to the same uni as me so, it could easily have been someone I know. I wouldn't feel comfortable seeing him in a Watford shirt again...
