Gray and Deeney will surely stay leeching off the club for as long as possible, the loanees will be sold for a cut price, but I do hope we can hold on to everyone else and somehow rebuild

 

I guess Gray and Deeney leeching off us will prevent any rebuild unfortunately. Absolute millstones round our neck.

 

The only good thing you can say about this window is that it will be looked upon with fondness at the end of the next one.

It's these moments we'll remember through the fog of dementia as time slows inexorably. And these golden memories will be the only relief from the grey sludge served up for breakfast, lunch and dinner by an insanely grinning Spaniard who nobody can quite understand as a menacing and bitter head nurse loiters in the wings, making sure we don't play with our phones or do anything not on the detailed activity board.

Learn to love it, it's easier in the end.

 

Christ I'd honestly take Sturridge at this point. Incredible we didn't get a striker in, or a midfielder, especially after letting Quina go.

I’d take Sturridge for 6 months, if his physical condition is good enough (it’s 11 months since he last played competitively). His betting thing was a bit weird but he was actually good in Turkey - 7 goals and 4 assists in 850 minutes. If he feels like coming and get 7 goals and 4 assists in 850 minutes for us that would be pretty handy. More than 6 months and it’s a financial risk on an older player that is probably not worthwhile.
