I've always been on Mcgugan's back from about the 3rd game in this season. Now it's the norm I'm the arse.
Iriney clearly hadn't adjusted to the pace of the Championship when he was here, hence him getting caught out for a couple of goals. Playing in Spain for most of this season won't have helped that, and in the summer he'll be another year older and thus less likely to adapt. I think he's a good player but I'd be surprised if he isn't out on loan again next year. That said, if he could adapt to the English game I do think he'd be an asset.
Didn't Diakite play well in his last couple of games? Genuine question as I didn't see it. Obviously he had a terrible start but that may have been down to a lack of game time, he also has more experience in England than Iriney. Would Abdi, Tozser, Diakite be better than Abdi, Tozser, Iriney?
I'd very much doubt Diakite would want to sign for us anyway, going on the brutal reception our fans gave him previously.
I'm not going to continue to contribute to this weird obsession you have with him. Even when no one's talking about him and he's not even at the club, you still manage to post about him.
When Tozser first started playing for us I thought he was the 'new Abdi' or 'defensive Abdi' at least. Then Abdi returned and I remembered that no one can be compared to him. Even so, he would be a good addition.
Can't you whip up a pass completion comparison between the two mate?? Having watch the Charlton away game and Hudders at home, i'd have to say that Diakite impressed
The way he tackles might make him a liability as he certainly doesn't hang back. If we could afford him I would take him as he adds a lot of strength and looks a decent player. One thing we have lacked this year is strength in midfield as Batts and Murray are a little lightweight. Not sure how long his contract is for at QPR but if it lasts past the end of June we certainly couldn't afford to match his wages, it might come down to how much he wants to play football
Closing in on his signature. http://www.watfordobserver.co.uk/sport/11197190.Watford_closing_in_on_permanent_signing_of_Tozser/
Bet we get *****ing relegated next season. And I bet it's my fault because I thought Abdi Iriney and Tozser was a good idea. I am scum.
There's a reason Genoa don't want him. He's just the Hungarian Adebayor - turns it on when it's time to get a new contract and then doesn't give a **** once the ink has dried.
Silly response. You can drag them back kicking and screaming but will they care about the club? Doubt it.
I hope he's joking otherwise I just give up! More news aside from Tozser on the way apparently:biggrin: edit: VYDRA!!!!!!!!
Did I say they'd care for the club, or be happy? I said that if we want them at Watford, it's very likely they'll be at Watford.
An interesting point in the Wobby article on Vydra was that Watford hope to do their transfer business early. The encouraging thing here is that it means we've got time to rebalance everyone's muscles before the season begins, rather than starting out with a bunch of crocks who need three months to get fit. The downside is this. Most signings get done late because clubs need to be sure they've got replacements lined up before they let people go. Which means we could get lumbered with more rejects from the Pozzo family clubs. Or else - and I hope it's this - we're making really good offers to good players available free, either because they're proven Champ players replaced by foreign stars after promotion, or because they're hoping for a bigger club than the one they're in.
Noticed that myself, actually. Very interesting point indeed. We were told when the Pozzos first took over that they prefer to get their transfer dealings done early. This is the first summer we've gone into without some kind of issue hanging over our heads (squad performance not withstanding), so I think we're about to see the new MO for future years. It's going to be nice seeing our signings done early instead of having no WFC news for a month and a half.
I don't believe so...we were signing players after they had reported for pre-season training in Italy, most notable with that big signing session where we brought in virtually all of 12/13's loans. One or two might have been signed earlier, but I'm almost certain the bulk of our signings came in after pre-season had begun. Of course, there is no way of knowing how early the actual negotiations started. They might have been finished long before the contracts were signed.
Weren't we playing spot the player via pics posted on social media whilst away in Italy? I'm sure Sherlock says this is the Pozzo way with deals agreed earlier if not announced.
