He was running at the defenders, not stopping and playing the ball backwards taking any momentum away and allowing Palace to get goalside....that's Pereryra's game...stifle any momentum because he can't take players on.

So in response to your ridiculous summation, at least he runs.

Palace very organized defending , Cahill and Dann never lost many headers and their full backs never gave our wide players space behind. When we did get there bad decisions bad final ball or bad luck in the way it fell. NP’s subs to be questioned again I’d of took Pereyra off a lot earlier as he was really poor today. It’s a shame as that game was crying out for Deulofeu’s magic. One of those games where the first goal was vital, they got it a point away would of been a great result wasn’t to be. Move on home games are where we must make it count.

No need, for one I’ve got eyes, I also don’t need to be a scout to be able to tell that some Udinese squad filler signed to mostly sit on our bench isn’t going to be much good, or save our season.

I am seeing this everywhere and I disagree, last week we played unbelievable and would have beaten any team put in front of us, G.D only played 20 minutes and went off at 0-0. I think our problem is we struggle against teams that don't leave space in behind.

Time to assemble the dream-team. Pearson head-coach, Shakespeare assistant head-coach, Zola attacking coach, Dyche defensive coach and Gracia set-piece coach. Make it happen Gino!

Palace were *****, only interested in stopping a game of football from breaking out. Zaha did nothing but moan, fall over, moan some more and pass the ball to a yellow shirt.

Thought we deserved something from that game but would help if we tried to shoot instead of walking the ball into the net. Scrappy niggly game that wasn't great to watch that highlighted how lacking in depth we are in certain positions.

Yes but we struggle extra hard against teams like that when our only threat is down one side. We needed Bobby to step up and he did the opposite. Gerry provides a lot more threat and it would’ve been harder for Palace with something to think about on both sides. As it was they completely nullified Sarr and we had absolutely nothing in response.

******* hell, that was bad today.

He was running at defenders and getting snuffed out comfortably (which has been the same as all his cameos so far).

"At least he runs" - it ultimately makes no difference when it still leads to nothing; we might as well bring Anya back instead.

Pussetto does look a pointless signing, but the money side of it is basically irrelevant as it was another Pozzo to Pozzo one.

  11. We lack the players to break down a defensive low block, we can’t hoof our way through and Sarrs pace can’t be utilised. We missed Del, and I prefer Cleverley for these sorts of games as he can set a pass and move tempo, Doucs is more about power.

He was fouled when he beat Ward for pace....Bobby won't run that fast in case he ruins his hair for his summer move.

He should have had the throw as the touchline angle showed Ward put it out.

The foul was down to a piss poor pass...which plagued us today.

Try watching the game next time...or not as it appears the case. Don't worry you'll get another chance to pray to your Pereyra shrine again.

As I pointed out in the shoutbox, for every Doucoure that started out iffy but came good, there's a Ken Sema that started off shart and stayed shart.

Think this must be the 4th season in a row we've conceded a goal while Kabasele lies prone on the floor playing possum.

Huh? Just because I think Pussetto is poor doesn't mean I don't think Pereyra is also poor.

Yes you’re right, the money side of it is irrelevant. It is still frustrating though as he was still a signing, but he’s clearly not very good and we needed better coming in during the window to help us beat the drop. I don’t know why people are getting so wound up about the criticism of him though. He played 12 games for Udinese, he was never going to be any good so I’m not sure what they’re expecting him to go on and do. As if he needs time to bed in and he’s going to be the next Sarr or Doucoure. No he isn’t.

Yeah it clearly would be a lot better to have Deulofeu on the pitch but my point is that we played okay without him in the remainder of the game last week and I wouldn't say we are completely screwed. It would have been harder for Palace if Deeney could have knocked the balls down better, or if our midfield didn't make the wrong decision every time they got in the final third or if Capoue was more interested in playing football rather squabbling with everyone in red and blue.

Have you seen Pussetto play for 90 mins?

If not what are you basing it on? 40 odd minutes when he's been thrown on through sub appearances?

Shall I look back on your comments on Sarr? Will we find some gems in there?

    Let's have a look.

Club need to sort out this drastic inconsistency once & for all. See sawing from week to week. It's the root cause of the problems & what's hampering our progress. This group do not seem capable to play at any consistent level.

Deeney said in an interview this week that NP surprised the squad with a spa day instead of training. That's how they repaid him.

I agree with you, but I do think if a team is playing deep Gerry does give us a good balance, because he can still jink into the box and cause trouble which in turn might give Sarr a little bit of extra space too.

You are not wrong. But we should also give Palace credit (unpleasant thought though that is): They had clearly done their homework and made it very hard to play the way we wanted.

Sure, like the majority of the forum I thought Sarr was having a tough time when he first came in and could even maybe do with a loan. I wasn't writing him off entirely though in the same way that I am with Pussetto.

I was also one of the few who actually really wanted him to sign for us in the first place (even for a high fee so long as it was similar to what we received for Lukebakio) and thought he'd be quality on our right-hand side before he'd even joined. I'd based that positive opinion of him from highlights plus watching him play a few matches in the Afcon.

    So swings and roundabouts there.

Would you like me to bring up the quote where you said Sarr needed time to get up to speed at a new club in a new country with a different style of play?

I'll keep that one in my back pocket for the time being.

Sarr was signed for big money as a young kid with tons of potential.

Pusseto wasn’t even a regular starter for Udinese, he was an inter-club transfer, signed as cover or to replace bobby if he went, who himself would only be cover in an ideal world.

The two signings are not comparable in any way.

Yep, there wouldn't have been so much doom and gloom had we lost 1-0 to Pool and won 3-0 today. Palace actually played much better today than Pool did against us - Pool were similarly vulnerable and sloppy against Muff today, but thankfully Muff still look a bit lower on confidence than us.

We generally do a bit better at home than away as well, so it's not entirely a surprise that we found today tough - we need that trend to continue with the few alright looking home fixtures we still have coming up.

No one should be surprised how Palace set up. This is standard for them, why would they differ, especially as it is difficult to play against. Hideous to watch but effective.
Now we face the unpleasant prospect of wanting them to win next Saturday.
Zaha is a eminently unlikable individual who at this juncture will be remembered for moaning and whining more than his occasional talent.

But Palace are a better team than us. Their points total, league position and the game today tend to show that. I don't like them but you should give them some credit. We played badly because they didn't let us play well.

The Pozzo model is always more about shuffling their assets about, or in more and more cases their liabilities, because they've handed out lengthy contracts to players nobody else wants.

It's never about bringing in the right players for our actual needs, hence why our squad is filled with square pegs for round holes, lazy, unmotivated journeymen and completely bereft of the tools needed for the job at hand.

A gutless performance from Pozzo’s collection of mercenary cowards. What a waste of space Pereyra is. Hopefully he doesn’t start again and we can get rid of him in the summer.

We have significant debt and have a really poor squad of players with weak mentalities. Multiple transfer windows of repeated errors and poor strategy are all coming to a head this season. What a mess we will be when we are in the Championship and the few players of genuine merit are gone.

Go ahead, do it - it's not a direct comparison with what I'm saying about Pussetto though; I was willing to give Sarr time because I'd already seen that he has a lot of quality. Plus he was just 21 when he joined. Meanwhile I've seen little of that quality or potential from Pussetto in either his cameos or his previous highlights.

Pussetto was struggling to make an impact in an Udinese side where Sema is doing well - let that sink in for a while.

Thing is, it's not Palace's responsibility to allow us to play. This was just another routine home win for them. Nothing more or less. For us it was an utterly crucial game - one of an ever dwindling handful from which we might realistically salvage a point or three towards our survival.

That the game passed by with Palace getting the slight better of it all, shows you just how much the gravity of the situation hasn't sunk into the thick skills of our complacent millionaire mercenaries, who probably all expect a comfy move away once their stepping stone at Watford moves down to the Championship.

So what you're saying is Sarr gets a free pass because he cost £35m, but Pussetto has to be a world beater from minute 1 because he cost £6m.

Perhaps get someone to proof read your comments before posting them.

He's as utterly predictable as ol' Faithful. Just as soon as he puts in a performance which makes you think he's decent, he goes and reminds you that he's a brainless liability, good for 7 or 8 goals conceded from his errors and a red card or two per season.
