Find me a competitive club that hasn't been involved in some kind of fiasco, scandal, managerial merry-go-round, financial crisis, transfer saga or similar.

This is football/business in the 21st century, and s*** happens. If you want a club that will gratify your individual values, then you'll need to look down the leagues.

It's a rather unfortunate turn of events. No one can have foreseen that Oscar would have his health issues. Unfortunately the way McKinlay who is a proven number one, has been treated leaves a sour taste in the mouth and is the first error the Pozzo organization have made at Watford.

He must have been given some sort of assurance when resigning from his role with Northern Ireland and fully expected to be in charge for the rest of the season. It may not have been particularly inspiring against the Bees or Brighton but it does take time for any manager to put their imprint on a team.

It is rather odd that the Pozzo organization are unwilling to give British coaches their head. There are several promising candidates yet they pick a manager who to date hardly has a stellar record despite several years of management and none at a team facing adversity and with zero experience of what is the toughest division in the world.

All the best to Billy. A coach of his credentials will have no trouble finding a new job and perhaps Michael O'Neill will take him back. I think it is a mistake to jettison him but once again only time can tell if it was. Or else........

The other thing is despite appearing to have had 4 managers in a month which sounds bad we've actually only sacked one. Garcia's health issues generated this, not that he could help that.

I have no affinity with McKinlay and while it's unfortunate he's out of a job, I'm sure he'll find another. If Gino feels he wasn't right for the job, I'm glad he's had the balls to fix his mistake quickly.

Have been reading various comments on net about how shabbily BMc has been treated and what an outrage blah blah. I am surprised that there seems to be more of a stink re his 8 days than when we sacked the beppster.oops i mean when beppe resigned. Bizarre IMO.

First team coach was asked to step into the breach following the head coach leaving for health reasons. Apparently no contract signed confirming a permanent post. 8 days later a new head coach appointed and signs a contract. First team coach declines to return to previous post as unhappy not appointed.

I don't know how much of the above is true as it's bits and pieces taken from everything posted on here and journo talk, but if he didn't have a contract was he ever an actual appointment?

Anyone who denies that this is embarrassing is just kidding themselves.

The Pozzos f**ked up. They gave a guy the job of his dreams, got him to quit his job, and then sacked him a week later because they changed their mind.

Not only have they embarrassed themselves and the club. They have lost a decent looking manager, or at the very least, by not taking more caution, have now lost one of the most experienced number two's in the league by embarrassing him.

I am amazingly grateful for everything the Pozzos have done to date, but ever since 'Nani moved on,' the club has looked like it has been run by amateurs.

Did you care when everyone slated our use of loans 2 years ago? Or did you enjoy it...as most of us did?

This is a storm in a teacup, it's a nothing story which will be forgotten tomorrow - only the Premiership gets constant scrutiny.

You have over reacted like some on here...McKinlay means nothing to Watford and they have embarrassed no one.

If you are embarrassed then it's YOUR embarrassment...no one else's.

But none of us know the facts....for all we know the Pozzos found out he was tapping up fulscum, or he insisted he wanted to do things his way, was caught criticising Deeney etc etc

All I know is I'm underwhelmed by the new manager but wish him well...because if he does well then watford, the team I support, will also do well

Is anyone actually, seriously, honestly embarrassed by this? On a personal level? Really? Who gives a ****? We'll all have forgotten about it after we win a couple of games under Jokanovic.

Is there odds available anywhere on Watford not getting promoted. I fancy making a few quid on this, as you can be sure that this constant change equals zero chance of promotion.

McKinlay will probably hold a grudge over us from now on but he will most likely get a pay off although he didn't actually have a contract. That's pretty much where my interest in him ends, we have a new head coach and I'm confident of a promotion-winning season.

I didn't care that we got all of the loans, because I understood we only got them in because we were bought late in the transfer window and that we could sign any of them in the summer.

That has nothing to do with giving a manager his first job after being a coach for decades and sacking him after a week.

You may not think that he is management material, but even then, losing one of the most qualified and experienced number twos because they jumped into declaring he was our permanent manager was foolish.

Do you not think the PR department of the club has been feeling pretty uncomfortably all day? Do you think that quality managers will be salivating at the chance of joining us if our current manager isn't good enough?

I get it. Some people on here will defend the Pozzos to the death. Overall they have been enormously positive. But this was an embarrassing blunder, and I don't think they should escape all criticism for what pretty much all on here would describe as a mistake, either in appointing him, for sacking him after such a short period of time or for losing one of the most overqualified number twos in the league.

To those saying it could be due to the tactical decisions on Saturday - one game with half a squad would not lead to his removal, I can assure you off that

If the 'technical staff' were so influential in the decision to remove McKinley, why on earth were they not consulted before his appointment? if their opinion was so highly valued, they would surely be involved in the initial recruitment process

And the idea that it's best to remove Mckinley now if the Pozzo's believe it to be a mistake is a flawed one. First of all, if there are fundamental differences in their football philosophies, this would have been discussed before he was appointed, and therefore he would never have got the job. Secondly, how is it possible to judge the man over one week? With a squad crippled by injury.

What if Jokanovic now comes in, and over the next few days he's removed? Would the fans with the view that it's best to get rid early support that view? When would it stop?

Really embarrassing, and feel sorry for McKinley even though he may come of well from this.

Who do you feel embarrassed to? People outside of Watford fans care about our club much less than you think.

We've changed manager a few times - so what? Professional football is a circus, and Watford are part of it. At least we have financial stability and a good squad of players, unlike other clubs who do this kind of thing (Leeds, QPR, Blackburn).

I think some are overreacting a bit.

It's a nasty gut punch for McKinlay, but this sort of thing happens in business all the time.

Ultimately, Gino made the decision based on what he thought was best for the club, apparently on recommendation from the "technical staff", whoever they are.

If you try and reconcile a pure business decision with an emotional viewpoint it will never make sense. I sincerely doubt there was any malice in this chain of events.

Watford don't need McKinley and McKinley doesn't need Watford, if he's such a good coach as people are making out then he'll walk into another job. People are acting like he's some kind of club legend that has been wronged!
