No, it's not possible... Because Beppe was our manager.

    half a mill wasnt it?

I've never rooted for a player so much before or since. I thought he was going to be an all time great.

Plus he played for watford in that crappy sky 6 a side thing didnt he?

  3. Beppe played his part in our success and deserves our appreciation, as does Zola, Joka, and the other 2 whoever they were

    Did I say that?

Ahh those strawman arguments of yours again.

  5. That's OK. As long as we know where you are coming from, we can consider the value of your comments in a reasonable context.

You think he is s**t. Perhaps that is all you should have said rather than the description you used to imply that your opinion was something other than an emotional disliking.

And when you say elsewhere that any other manager could have done what he did at the start of last season, you are wrong. In all of Watford's seasons at this, or any other level, that record is a rare, if not unmatched thing.

The problem for your posts is not that you think he is s**t, but that everything you say about him is subject to that fact; and it totally devalues your contribution on the subject.

You clearly are not prepared to recognise when he has done something well because you think he is s**t. That is subjection, and worse, it is emotional subjection, so be careful of being hypocritical when you accuse others.

Everyone knows that we had an appalling end to the season, and we all appreciate the factors involved in it, including Beppe. But few would hold him solely responsible for it, particularly given later revelations.

Because this is an emotional matter for you, I realise it will be difficult for you to respond without some sort of abuse. I hope you are able to avoid such, as it will completely devalue the point you are attempting to make.

I liked him, but was gutted by how poor he turned out as he was clearly a very good player..

I agree, when we signed him, and after a few games I was getting excited, but after losing Furlong and Dyer we needed someone special and he didn't turn up..

After that Petchey closed his cheque book also and wouldn't even buy Barry Hayles for 125k, that pissed me off

Curious as to why you have written it like this, genuine mistake?

His record was 1 win in 5. The previous manager had 0 wins in 6.

Beppe 4 points in 5 games, previous manager 2 points in 6.

Not really a success though, just a varying degree of ****ness.

I don't really get the debate about Beppe. I think those who say he was great are just as wrong as those who say he was useless.

He was an unspectacular manager who got an unspectacular squad to an unspectacular league position, and pissed off a lot of people in the process. That's all there is to it really.

Not exactly a success, but certainly an improvement, and certainly not what Legs said.

Not only that, they've now re-hired the manager that was there before Beppe. Italian football is mental.

A lot better than 1 win in 11 though

    Average manager, likable bloke.

  16. You are right. You don't get the debate about Beppe.

No one is saying he was great, but there are people saying he was not useless, and you are clearly in agreement with us, so gawd bless you.

Beppe was not hired to lead us in the PL. He was hired to steady the ship, and turn the club around, from a jolly bunch of capable amateurs to determined serious championship contenders. He was not hired as a top flight manager, but a second tier scrapper, and he fitted that bill very well. That some people then describe him as s##t is perplexing to say the least.
