Watford FC is a trademark and already sell their own memorabilia. Can't imagine they'd be too chuffed about anyone undercutting them, fan group or not.

 

I'd just do that design for the centre three blocks. There's no chance the Rookery will be full to the rafters for a November home match against Ipswich.

 

The larger poppys should work better than small ones if the stand isn't full as there is less chance of detail being lost with empty seats. This would also work with one poppy in the middle but as the crowd is spread evenly across the stand and not gathered in the middle, I'm not sure that only having stuff in the middle seats would give any particular benefit to the overall look.

Hopefully if the club and supporters know this is going to happen they could make a bit of an effort to ensure that there's enough people to do it properly.

 

TVOR is right, if you read the comments on Watford Observer re:1881Stuff there is always a reasonable number of people complaining about the "everything is 1881" aspect of it. One comment I can remember in particular is "these love to jump on a bandwagon" re:1881WWIFlag.

Although it's understandable that as Roy is paying for most of it and therefore it's 1881's property to do what it wants with - I also understand other fans points that it would be better if it was bought on behalf of the 1881 for the club instead of 'itself' (used loosely) because I can see how this can be misconstrued as "trying to look like the better fans" (quote from WO comments).

There is a lot of support for the idea of the group itself.

 

Is the plan to do this at the Derby game or the Milwall game? I would say that Derby would be a little more respectful about it.

These are all looking very good April but I think you need to increase your row height to get the shape of the stand more akin to the actual Rookery:



I think the space between the rows distorts your plan a bit which will in turn distort the image you're creating.

 

I know what you mean but I'm just using that template as a guide. It wont look quite the same as some seats will be empty some fans will hold the foils at different heights and it will look different when its on the slope of the stand. If it were my decision I would go with a design with a larger image on it. That way any irregularities and differences between the design and the actual display wouldn't matter so much.

 

If I remember right Millwall were at our place when we had a minutes silence recently, (though I can't remember who or what it was for). They maintained the full minute in complete silence, that I remember with crystal clear clarity.

You are doing a great job. As well as the silence - earlier you could have some singing if club would put words in programme.

WWl songs are easy to sing lustily even for people like me who have no sense of rhythm and couldn't carry a tune in a bucket. Things like Tipperary, Pack up your troubles etc etc.

On the other hand "Three German Officers Crossed the Rhine Parlez vous" would NOT be a good choice
