eurgh, it looks horrible. Surely no one is going to buy this rubbish?

My main issue is with the weird colour coordination (or lack of, rather). No way the club didn't have any input or choic3 on colours.

I must admit to being puzzled by this annual discussion of what the kit will look like. Whether it's got a nice touch of red on the sleeve or whether the neck is V or crew, what does it really matter? It'll be mostly yellow and overpriced, that's all you need to know! :)

  4. Hairyfrog

I loved the 15/16 kit (except the V neck was a bit too deep) so it's all a matter of taste

I don't get this pride in Adidas vibe. Adidas make Aldershot's kits as well as numerous championship teams. It's not a mark of making the big time?

It's yellow and it fits Troy. It'll do.

Couldn't we afford the rest of the sleeves?

Surely not too much to ask for the warm weathered Johnny Foreigners in our squad - their poor arms will get cold fml.

Since 1974 these have been our sponsors

    Umbro
    Bukta
    Hummel
    Mizuno
    Le Coq Sportif
    Kit@
    Diadora
    Joma
    Burrda
    Puma
    Dryworld
    Adidas

When I look at that list, it does make me proud that we finally have a worldwide recognized sponsor.

I know Adidas sponsor a bunch of lower league teams, and that's my point. Outside of Umbro and more recently Puma, our sponsor has been severely lacking in the recognition department. We finally have a sponsor that we can be proud of as a club and is the most popular sports brand in the world according to recent studies. Adidas are outperforming Nike in nearly every area.

No-one outside of Watford was buying a Dryworld or Burrda shirt (unless their team also had these sponsors), slap an Adidas logo on it and it is a game changer. People like running, training, working out in Adidas gear. If Watford sort out there apparel and make it attractive, we will attract a larger market of consumers who might not necessarily support Watford but they support and love the Adidas brand.

So my comment might be the most idiotic of 2017 but if by being proud that our club will be making more money and attracting a larger market makes me an idiot, then so be it, I'm an idiot.

Hopefully at least one positive of Adidas' template offer is that the kit will be ready for preseason. Having to play friendlies and train in the previous year's kit because DryWorld were useless made us look even more tinpot than normal.

I don't disagree with that haha but it's true. I now live in the States and when Adidas release a new trainer or line of clothing, there are lines out the door, people standing in line for 12 hours. Similar to when Apple (but definitely not on that scale) release the new iPhone and people are lining up for it all over the place, I've seen thousands of people lining up for the newest release of trainer from Adidas.

All it takes is for some celeb to wear it and everyone wants it.

    Amazing but true.

I lived in the States and people are so passionately brand conscious it's quite sad.

John Deere vs Ford in the 'tractor pulling'
    Budweiser vs Miller.
    Nike vs Addidas.
Same here - kids influenced by celebs/peer pressure/advertising - won't be seen dead in a 'poor' brand.

F*** Addidas - if they can't give us shirts with sleeves bring back Happy Egg, my missus would approve.

Yeah it is crazy and very sad but that's the world we live in. So us having Adidas on our shirts now gives us more credibility in the world.

Given the money sloshing around in footy these days its amazing that we - and most other clubs - only manage to attract such downmarket sponsors. Come on Duxberry, get Rolex, Louis Vuitton, Moet or some other luxury brand on our shirts next year

To me it just looks like a regular yellow t-shirt with a badge & sponsor's logo stuck on it. Nothing to be offended by & at the same time nothing to be excited about. I must admit I was expecting more but, hey, it's just a shirt. Getting a defence that can clear a corner next season is more important.

Would like nicer with a round neck...

Also, I'm not sure where the idea we will get a bespoke design for next season is coming from. Only the like's of the biggest clubs get that these days...WBA have been Adidas for a few years and their new effort is the same template as ours. For as long as we are supplied by Adidas, we will have the same design as 90% of their client base, just different colours.

The kit that has been leaked is a bit boring but it isn't 'ugly". I would have preferred something like the kit above but with black instead of grey and a black/red collar (Like our last kit had) as well as the Adidas and FxPro logos instead of Puma and Fly Emirates. Mind you, I would keep the Arsenal badge because they are a far more reputable team and people would be more likely to by the shirt; therefore earning us more bills for Gino's secret Swiss bank account. If could work out how to upload an edited version of it on here, I would...

However, at the end of the day all it is is a bit of cloth worth £3.99 and is sold for £60.00. Of which the money goes towards Deeney's holiday in Marbs so it's not too concerning as to what is looks like.

Dident somebody suggest as much at one of the 'At your place' events?

I know what you mean though, there's never a guarantee you wont get one of the template designs regardless.

If this kit is real, then that's tragic. Adidas should be able to use their templates a lot better than that for a Premier League football club. Most championship shirts from last year (Aston Villa, Newcastle, Nott'm Forest come to mind) look way better than that. A true shame as we have such a nice colour palate to work from and that is the rubbish we're given.

  26. Why does it have to be a template? We order cycling shirts completely to our own design, sublimation dyed. Seems unnecessarily boring.

If they love the Adidas brand but don't support Watford, mightn't they buy the shirt of a more massive club in preference to ours?

Do you think the club are still going ahead with the big launch on Wednesday, knowing that it's already leaked? Be a bit stupid if they are. They should have whacked it on their website on Saturday with the caption, ' **** it, here it is '

Adidas signed the deal in December? They have just taken the old Liverpool away top out of storage for us.
Watford have some awful gear in their club shop. The person who decides the style, colour and logo on the casual gear should be sacked. It is terrible.
£40 for an under 5/6yr kit!! Yet, this was just a yellow t shirt and shorts with no badge.
Wake up WFC clubshop, it is 2017.

Sheffield United have unveiled their new Adidas bespoke kit. This is a club who just got promoted to the Championship after six seasons in League One.

    https://www.sufc.co.uk/news/2017/june/home-kit-launch/

So the rumours of us getting a bespoke kit in 2018 could well be true.

Just looked at the blades kit, pretty nice but can't believe their sponsor "teletext holidays" I did not realise teletext still exhisted let alone people still used the teletext to book holidays. As for our kit we only have it for a season, hope the other training wear and leisure bits are better, they usually are from adidas.
