Watford Transfer Ban

'This is an unfortunate situation, we were in for several top players and had agreements with both player and club to join, Then we were wrongly given a transfer embargo by FIFA for a matter in which we have fully complied with, we are as shocked by this as you. We are doing all we can to resolve the matter quickly' ........ Fast Forward to 1st September 23 when we get another statement 'Watford football club can confirm that it has settled all issues with FIFA and the clubs involved. We are pleased to say that as of today our transfer ban has been lifted.... and we would like to welcome free agents Jake Livermore, Andy Carrol to the club and welcome back Leandro Bacuna and club legend Troy Deeney '

 

I’m hearing the deal in question was fully ratified in Italy, so the club are confident of no wrong doing.

 

Conversely however, if someone tells you you owe them money, you don’t have to believe them apparently

The club take the p*** at every opportunity when it comes to paying out. Player bonuses, compensation to ex-managers, transfer fees, you name it. A transfer ban is well overdue and quite frankly I hope it lasts longer. Might finally wake a few fans up to the incompetence (being generous) of those in charge.

Very true. But would of thought that being a Limited Company or a Countries equivalent would be a minimum to have any clout with FIFA, I know this is FIFA but surely any sole trader in the world who puts themselves up as a "Football Academy" couldn't get a Professional Club an embargo. On the other hand the director is just a stooge, whiff of Lawrence about this one, he's an Attorney in Lagos who fronts up literally dozens of companies, through his Attorney Company (which was incorporated in 2016).

Whether it's true or not, one thing this confirms (that we've known for a while) is that Watford's comms are absolutely dreadful and they couldn't really give less of a **** about the fans anymore.

If it's true any normal club would want to get on top of the comms and spin it in a way that makes them look the least bad, if it's not true any normal club would have at least briefed their friendly journalists that it's a load of nonsense almost instantly to kill the story.

 

Genuinely though, what a horrible bunch of arseholes we have running our club. They consistently try to rip off other organisations and even their own players and wonder why they are viewed so poorly in the football world.

They'll probably pay whatever is owed here and avoid a ban but the pattern of behaviour is pretty disgraceful, especially when they seemingly target smaller organisations who are probably relying on these payments to keep the lights on (despite the money involved being just a drop in the ocean to a club like us). Couple that with the way that the club enable Mogi Bayat and his treatment of young, foreign players as cattle and you have quite a disturbing picture.

We could win the league with a record amount of points this season and I'd still want Pozzo and Duxbury out and feel disgusted that they were ever associated with our club. Shame on anyone who still defends these crooks.

 

Would it not be the selling club that has to pay the academy and not the buying club

I think its probably fair to hear the club's side of this before jumping to the conclusion that this is yet another monumental f**k up by that hopeless, scheming, patronising pile of tu rd, Fuxbury

 

Wouldn’t FIFA put Watford Association Football Club on an official legal letter, rather than Watford FC?

Our owners can't win. Waste tens of millions of pounds on Kalu, Okoye, Bayo etc and they get slated. Save a few quid by stiffing a tiny African business and they still get slated.

This is yet another example of evil , putrid toxicity from this disgusting ownership . Pozzo , Duxbury ,Manga and Giaretta should be publicly hanged and then flogged , in that order . Is that better ?

I can't see the transfer ban being anything other than a positive, the amount of last minute dross that is about to turn up at London Colney is a sight for sore eyes.

 

If this is true (since its actually only being mentioned by that one Nigerian outlet) and we have indeed had a transfer ban put on us - could that be the reason for the very quick and quite unexpected sale of Hungbo to the financial footballing juggernauts that are FC Nurnberg? The fee has never been mentioned, but coincidentally is large enough to cover any monies owed to whoever this academy is?
