Exclusive: Watford remain in pursuit of Aston Villa transfer agreement | Football League World Still interested in a deal for Keinan Davis, would be a loan initially according to this. Would be for this, he did well at Forest last season
8 league goals at the age of 24. Between him, Manaj and Bayo I don't see how we wouldn't break 100 goals this season. Pure, born goalscorers.
Davis had very little first team football at Villa, but once he went on loan to Forest and got some regular football under his belt for the first time in his career, he did well. All are punts to a degree, but Davis has a recent track record of promotion from the very league we're in now, so surely he'd be less of a punt than the other two
He's a lot more physical than JP (and less technical, of course, without that being meant as an insult). He reminded me a bit of what I know/remember of the good/early version of Emile Heskey when I watched him for Forest last season.
Not much time for Villa, but 5 in 15 for Forest isn’t too shabby. Thought of well enough to make England U20s. I’m gonna say it, worth a punt.
I like Davis, but he seems to be in a similar mould to both Manaj and Bayo. A pairing of any combination of 2 of those 3 will leave centre backs with a few bruises, but very little chance of us actually threatening the goal. I assumed this link had died when those two were foisted upon us as I dont really see what else he brings to the squad (other than allowing us to drop both Manaj and Bayo out of the squad for another non home grown player)
If I wanted us to sign a crap striker who couldn't score I'd suggest Vakoun Bayo or Rey Manaj. God help whoever signs them.
Good hold up strikers are only really any use if the players he's holding the ball up for aren't completely *****
Sounds like the sort of player who might do the hard work and ruffle a few feathers but needs a goalscorer next to him to feed off all that physical play.
Excellent player, much better than Manaj and Bayo, but can’t see it happening now we’ve signed that profile of striker.
Would have been better than Bayo and Manaj for the HG factor alone. Now that we’ve signed those two however, can’t see the point
I simply meant they are all target men of sorts. Agree Bayo and Manaj look crap, but I always thought Davis looked good when I saw him for Forest.
The Villa man at The Athletic reporting that we really want Davis on loan. I really can see us loaning Bayo out by the end of the window.

I think we ignore this rumour until it's confirmed we really, really, really, want him. We sign who we really, really, really, want. Except Perotti.
Wouldn't surprise me either. If that happened there should be a statement from the club as to why it did.
If we play 2 up top, then we'd need at least 3 strikers, probably 4, which, if Sarr and Dennis go, we would have in JP, Manaj, Bayo and Davis (if he signs of course). Obviously JP could be used as an advanced midfielder as well, so I doubt we'll be loaning out Bayo any time soon
Do we want him in the same way we want a LCB? Fanny around for a few weeks before deciding against it?
I work with a Villa fan who has reliably informed me that this guy is total gash. Welcome to Watford, Kienan Davis.
Not sure anyone would want him. He's a rich man's Fletcher.......as for Davies, he's a poor man's Fletcher. If we sell Sarr and Dennis leaving us with Bayo, Manaj and Davies.....that's game over for us as a promotion challenger.....IMO.
On the fence with Davies not seen enough of him. Would prefer an all out attempt for Armstrong. He's proved he's more than capable in the Championship.
Yeah, playing badly and then getting loaned out is one thing, but if we've coughed up £3m, or whatever it was, for him and he hasn't kicked a ball then loaned, it's hilarious. Either it's crooked or the club are utterly clueless. Time will tell.
