Cukur reminds me of a less experienced and refined Deeney. Does a lot of defensive work and tries to link the team up front winning headers. Have to say I'm really liking what I see at least in what he tries to do. Nowhere near ready for the first team but think in 2-3 years he could be close.
I think a lot of it will be emotional energy expanded. Playing at a league ground, big competition. Good win. Well done boys!
We are missing a few players but some of those that remain need to be taught composure on the ball and what to do in certain situations. This apparently will be the first of more Academy games to be streamed on the clubs Youtube channel. Two thousand seven hundred watching. SBLE needs to demand and drop for the ball all the time. Lawal was impressive. Did step on the ball once and lost his runner for the first though. Cukur has potential.
They are kids PJ. Only to be expected. I would be concerned if they were not experiencing cramp as they might be on something.
They don’t seem very happy with the ref ! https://forums.vitalfootball.co.uk/...ln-city-v-watford-fa-youth-cup.114164/page-19
You could hear the Lincoln bench expressing their displeasure about the lack of a penalty. Chaucer like language!
Just watched highlights and he could've been sent off after about 2 seconds, the opposition held him from the kick off and looked like he swung his forearm at him! Quite like his post match interview, confident without straying too far into arrogance.
I hope that our club's scouts will keep an eye on the progress of Freddie Draper, although I suspect that some of the big clubs will already have noticed him. Players, who stand out at U-18 level, do not always succeed at senior level, but Draper looks a real prospect. He is a first year scholar in Lincoln's Youth Team’s scholarship scheme and will spend the next two years combining professional training with Lincoln City while studying for a BTEC Level 3 in Sport. I think that he is still only 16 years old, but he seems to be an instinctive finisher and he has already sat on the bench for some of Lincoln's first team games. Both of his goals (in the F.A. Youth Cup against Watford) were very well struck, although I doubt that he would have been given so much space at senior level. He has been averaging approximately a goal per game for Lincoln's U-18 team over the season.
He has been prolific. Came from Derby who always seem to produce players in recent seasons. These are the sort of players we do need to keep an eye on. I'm sure Omer Riza would have been suitably impressed. Sam Dalby has returned from Stockport County having played little and not scored a goal or really impressed any County fans. They have signed Paddy Madden an experienced striker from Fleetwood Town to replace him. George Langston still out with an injury and Wealdstone were thumped again.
Do we know if there are any U23 or friendly matches for this week? A chance for Success and Kabasele to regain match fitness.
QPR on Friday at the training ground it looks like. Good opportunity for some players to get minutes.
You've missed your vocation as a headline writer IBB. @ The Recluse does not have high hopes for him.
Someone told me yesterday I was wasted as a tennis coach as I bombarded the Tiny Toes children with inane puns that flew over their heads like feral pigeons! Always difficult following a famous parent, especially in the same sport.
Good news. I'd like to see him paired with Sieralta. We all know he has his brain fart moments but I think he is better than Troost-Ekong and Cathcart overall.
Kane Crichlow with a neat instinctive tap in after a howler from the Canadian keeper although ultimately it made little difference.
