I think that is 2 goals in two games for Pochettino, I wonder if he might force himself into 1st team reckoning?
Just read the clubs report on the 3-2 win. 16 year old Forde came off the bench and was involved in the winning goal. Good stuff at that age playing against mainly 18-21 year olds.
So Success played for 45mins and I was told “looked good.” We did however lose the game 3-0 to Southend. Our team consisted of 10 changes and multiple trialists.
George Langston (18 year old CB on loan from us to Wealdstone) has made the National League team of the week which is a good sign!
There's a new club-run (or so it seems) academy twitter account. https://twitter.com/watford_academy Hopefully it will provide some of the detail/updates many on this thread have been calling for. I wonder if it is the product of some fan engagement/complaints.
Aye there is that - luckily it's only for an initial month long spell so if the league is cancelled then he can come back!
Presumably if the league was cancelled he could come back anyway? Also, is there no transfer deadline for incoming transfers to the Conference, or only loans?
I'd imagine/hope that was the case! Not actually sure on the deadlines for the conference so can't answer that I'm afraid but definitely looks to be different.
They voted to carry on for now although the feeder conferences North and South have cancelled their seasons. Dalby needs the football. Langston doing well at Wealdstone. PS Hope The Recluse is okay. Miss his insights.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/56119952 There does not seem to be any clear idea on what will happen. Do the teams at the top of North & South go up on points average ? Dover Athletic may get thrown out because their owner is refusing to play any more fixtures due to a lack of finance. Unfortunately quite a few clubs will be struggling to make it through this particular crisis.
2nd this - if you are reading these messages I really hope you are ok The Recluse. I know most of us don’t know each other outside of this forum, but you do get to know (a little) like and respect fellow posters and you’re defo one of the good ones.
Dalby played an hour for County. Worked his socks off and held the ball up well according to the County fans on their forum but no chances of note. He indirectly won the throw in that led to their first though. Wealdstone shipped a fair few so I was concerned Langston might have had a horror show. He was not even on the substitutes bench.
https://www.wealdstone-fc.com/post/langston-extends-loan Turns out he's been injured. His loan has been extended until the end of the season though.
Official site says U23’s won 2-1 v QPR. Tiago Cukur got a goal and a good write up Also interesting that Success didn’t play - maybe coming into the first team squad for one of the games this week?
Dalby substituted at half time. Apparently does not get involved enough and still lacks any fluency or understanding with his team mates. Understandable. Works very hard and had an effort cleared off the line but I think some County fans were expecting a proven striker than a stripling.
If anyone wants to watch the U23's, Cardiff are showing the game live for free from 12:45pm. https://www.cardiffcityfc.co.uk/video/live Cardiff have Alex Smithies, Max Watters, Lee Tomlin, Junior Hoilett and Jonny Williams all starting.
2-0 Cardiff at HT. Predictably being outplayed. 2nd goal by Watters - we let him run and run before turning and shooting easily. Don't think we have had an effort on goal.
Didn’t see the whole half but watched the last 20-25mins. Ochieng looked very poor. Granted our boys are playing against 6 of their first team squad, you could definitely tell it’s boys against men, but we couldn’t make anything stick. Constant long balls up top, just to lose the second the ball and go back to defending. Cardiff deservedly in front at the break. Last 20-25mins, I would be amazed if we spent more than 2mins in their half.
