Are all fan bases weirdly obsessed with ex-players coming back, or is it just Watford fans? As a caveat, i'd absolutely take Vydra right now...
I’ve personally never wanted Vydra back, however at this stage I want a striker, just any striker and Vydra is considerably better than what we have, although by that criteria it doesn’t rule out any of our former strikers retired or otherwise.
Watford ‘could do’ late business.... Groundbreaking journalism there - just a cut and paste of several previous articles he’s written and put in one place. I expect Leventhal to confirm later.
‘One to watch’ AKA ‘Keep an eye on your Twitter feed or search for ‘Watford Siliki Vydra Elliott’ in the searchbar and see what comes up as that’s what I, Adam Leventhal, will be doing in order to bring you exclusive transfer news.’
Hmm, do you mean like our theoretically first-choice defensive midfielder, who we sold several weeks ago now?
Not just that we've learned from our mistakes. We've learned from them but you plebs are too dim/unimportant for us to give a flavour of what they were, so if you ask us at a fans' forum, Duxbury will just patronise you whilst smiling in an odd fashion.
I think this site is being rather hopeful ! https://lastwordonsports.com/football/2021/01/25/a-swap-deal-between-andre-gray-and-matej-vydra-could-be-on-the-cards/
I don’t care how fanciful it sounds. I LOVE this article. Friday nights are about watching romantic movies ✅ drinking beer ✅ and dreaming about Matty Vydra’s volleys in this season’s kit.

The usually reliable Alan Nixon (S*n) has updated that ourselves and Bournemouth both want him on a loan deal, to be made permanent if promoted. Apparently we've both also made swap player offers, that Burnley aren't interested in. Could be a rehash of previous stories, or maybe we're trying to get it done. Who knows
Bournemouth the favourites to sign him I reckon, in fact, I hear they’re on the verge of unloading some **** from their wage bill to make room
If Vydra goes to Muff there’s a fair chance they’ll go up automatically even though they have a bit of ground to make up at the moment. Sadly I think we’re more likely to bring back Nathan Ellington than Vydra. It is so frustrating though as it’s such a weak league this year we’d only have to be half decent to go up. Anyone with half a brain cell could see we need a decent striker. Not signing Vydra will cost us a hell of a lot more than signing him will.
Either that or double agent Vydra scores a hat-trick of own goals and puts us through. Status as the ultimate Watford legend beckons.
Almost relieved now, thank **** Bournemouth aren't getting him! Just have to get another striker in now...
I genuinely wouldn't be surprised if these rumours were released to make it look like the club were in for a decent striker, especially one that most fans want. In reality, we were likely never interested. Stuck with Deeney, Gray, Perica and Success (plus JP who is actually decent so doesn't deserved to be thrown in with the others).
Surely a no-goer. At least Gino tried. I'm excited for the young winger we will now bring in on deadline day from a weak international league, and look forward to loosely monitoring his development, before we sell him for a nominal fee.
