Theres a whole debate about this subject. Essentially people can have the same or similar opinions about cups half empty or half full, one will accept his cup isn't filled by a multibillionairre sheikh or indeed be a championship cup, the other will see a space in the cup we could fill and wonders why we have not tried (maybe even be outraged at it). Maybe another time.
I watched muff vs Southampton and it was a really good game, muff just went for it and to be fair we’re lucky not to get something , having said that you could see that Southampton have something to them and muffs performance was effort over quality , almost the exact opposite of our performances we have no chance of winning and at best under 1% chance of a draw , real shame a draw would put muff down and make Villa our only threat 0-4 to city to mean we have a really bad Sunday knowing we are equal on goal difference to muff
Oh dear. I upset an elite member. I have never said l hate Watford. I just put my opinion down. No one cares what goes on here, I don't . After the news today, I await your apology . Don't take too long ok.
I was quoting an outrage Clapper. Yours was just the first post I could paste it on. Read my posts. You're positively a card carrying Gino lover compared to me.
I’m assuming Deeney’s first act as player coach will be to tell himself he’s dropped? If anyone has the cojones to tell fatty Troy Deeney his days are numbered, it’s that legend Troy Deeney.
I have no idea what you are on about. I have zero interest in ownership. We are a mess on and off the field. I am wondering if the rumours of the dressing room punch up are true. We have our 'Premier league contact' coming over on the 15th of August. The bar room chat will be interesting. You have anything to add to the fiasco?
Whatever floats your boat mate You'll probably have more fun than those of us watching Watford vs. Man City to be fair
Foster Mariappa Dawson Kabasele Massina Femenia Doucoure Hughes Holebas Cleverley Sarr Park The Bus!!!!!!
We can't go super defensive because our defenders aren't good enough, we can't really try to take the game to them because our forwards aren't good enough. Therefore I suggest we take the lesser of two evils go full QSF and try our best to minimise the damage to our GD and win at Arsenal who with a cup final six days after us is a far more winnable game. Foster, Mariappa, Cathcart, Kabasele, Dawson; Hughes, Capoue, Doucoure, Chalobah, Welbeck; Sarr. First we go for the Tony Pulis method of four CB's across the back 4. Hughes & Welbeck helping their full-backs out wide defensively. Capoue, Doucoure & Chalobah restricting space as much as possible in the middle. Sarr's pace up front on his own, on the counter as Man City CB's (likely to be Otamendi & Stones) sit in our half, long ball over set Sarr free, Doucoure and Welbeck try their best to join him on the counter. That's our best hope of getting anything / limiting damage IMO. If we open up at any point we will get Johnny Sins'd.
Feel like that back four is far too slow and lumbering to handle City's fast, agile players. I'd go 5-4-1, purely because I don't recall us trying 5 at the back against them amongst all of our horrendous thrashings, so **** it: ------------------------------ Foster --------------------------------- Femenia - Cathcart - Dawson - Kabasele - Masina ---------- Sarr - Capoue - Hughes - Pussetto ------------ ----------------------------- Welbeck ------------------------------ We need to be solid but we need to offer some sort of threat. Going five at the back with Hughes and Capoue in the middle may give us some solidarity, but we then also have the threat of some pace on the counter with Sarr, Pussetto and Welbeck. Pussetto deserves a chance. From the little I've seen he has a bit of pace, good work rate and desire and can actually take a set piece. Just chuck him in.
I like that too. Just don't think either Femenia or Masina deserve to start another game this season, it's the definition of madness. Mariappa's slow and limited but at least his footballing IQ is there. Femenia quite literally doesn't know how to defend..
As I posted in another thread earlier unfortunately all of our defenders have horrendous limitations and there is pretty much no lesser of two evils. I absolutely cannot stand Femenia and Mariappa is undoubtedly a better defender, not that that's saying much, but at least Femenia has a bit of pace and is slightly better on the ball, and we may need that against City. Maybe with three centre backs Femenia's complete lack of defensive awareness wouldn't be quite so glaringly obvious. It's a similar problem with Masina and Holebas. They're both crap, but Holebas' legs have gone. We're screwed either way.
Not sure why anyone is bothering with team selections. Wnd result will be the same. Deeney sacked Wednesday for having a punch up with himself.
Pearson Kung Fu kicked him in the leg just before kick off to see if he was hard enough. Turned out he wasn't.
Despised it at the time but maybe Quique really was onto something with his 4-6-0 formation away at City the first time around when we only lost 2-0.
New manager bounce, players finally up for it, play before Villa so need to keep the pressure on them for a result. All these factors will surely lead to an improved performance from our previous league drubbing? With all this in mind, I predict: 0-7
I agree park the bus big time and just hoof the ball up to Sarr in the hope he can out pace the City defence to sneak a goal, I'd also bring in Capoue if fit in place of Cleverly.
This season has been like death by a thousand cuts. That said I think we're going to undeservedly stay up. A point or a narrow defeat here will do it I reckon
------------------------------ Foster --------------------------------- Mariappa - Kabasele - Dawson - Cathcart - Femenia ---------- Doucoure - Capoue - Chalobah - Hughes ------------ ----------------------------- Sarr ------------------------------ Damage limitation side. Hughes through balls to Sarr to chase on our limited attacks and hope Doucs has the legs to join in. For some reason Femenia has played well defensively at LB compared to RB, not sure why, so he can go there instead of Masina.
Is it really a "new manager" though when they've already managed the club for a few games before and have stayed coaching at the club?
To be honest Man City are in horrible form (by their standards) and clearly they only care about the Champions League now. If we can keep it tight and get to HT at 0-0 we could get something from this. We should sit deep but use Sarr as an outlet so that we aren't completely suffocated. Bournemouth nearly got something from them and they are as bad as us (possibly worse). The problem is we definitely will go 2-0 down inside 10 minutes and that will be that. Prediction Watford 0-9 Man City
Pep always gets his team to target Kiko as the main weakness. If he has to play move him infront of Mapps. Otherwise I'd swap Masina for Femenia. Plus Holebas for Chalobah. Then pray.
