Unreal considering we’re the same team who conceded 8 in a game! Haven’t had a Watford defender in my fantasy team all season either! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Not today, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see him resign if he doesn’t think he can keep Bournemouth up.
Enjoyed the game today, despite there being no goals. Very competitive, physical game with no lack of skill. Sarr makes it look so easy on that right wing. Unplayable sometimes. We missed some serious chances (Doucoure and Sarr, as well as Troy's penalty). But that ball was millimeters away from being over the line for them, so swings and roundabouts. As others have said, Masina has really stepped up in recent weeks and looks really assured. And another good game for the reborn Chalobah. Some were questioning what the point in bringing Pussetto in was - well this is it: an injury to Sarr and we were in trouble. Pussetto is going to have to get up to speed very quickly though. I do think he could be a good Prem player once acclimatised. Deeney again was very good (apart from missing the pen). He has not played as well as he has recently, for a long time. Overall, I would have taken a point before the game. Sure, we could have snatched three today if the stars had aligned for us, but we've had a good run recently so can't get the breaks every time. Strap in for another Must Win Game™ coming up on Tuesday.
OMG the effing whingeing about Capoue’s booking from Mourinho. It wasn’t an intent to injure and the player (despite his hysterical reaction) wasn’t hurt. Dawson got caught high later in the game when clearing. Not everything is a sending off. Doesn’t say much for Mourinho’s confidence that Spurs had another route to the win.
I reckon there’s a fair chance it’s the closest one ever. The famous Stones clearance v Liverpool was 11mm, so we’ve beaten that.
Where have you been for the last 40 years ? He plays for spurs and he is english = english international
I would have settled for a point before the game, but now I am actually disappointed we did not nick all three, as I think we just about deserved to win today.
This has got to be Mourinho’s last big pay day surely. For the first time sine we’ve been in the premier league I genuinely think we are a better side than them. I expected a point minimum and it’s disappointing it wasn’t more. He’s done as a top level manager, too reactive, too negative, no new ideas.
But Kane’s record is not much better. People miss penalties. It happens. In general Troy has a decent record.
I’m not saying he doesn’t have a decent record, but you have to say all of his last few penalties have been in and around the middle, so it was inevitable that one would be saved eventually. Troy isn’t a top level striker so I’m not expecting anything better from him as far as penalties are concerned than what he delivers. I’m just making the observation that he never puts penalties in the top or bottom corners. The very best players and penalty takers have the ability to put the ball where no keeper can save it whatever they do, Troy isn’t one of these players which is absolutely fine, not many are. All I can say is that I didn’t expect him to score today because he was never going to get away with putting the ball in such saveable areas for much longer.
i have hated spurs for years, but the fact that they have consistently failed to give him a squad number of 40 just shows how classless they are
Disappointed didn't get the three points but spurs so close to nicking it at the end. Sarr key to our survival... Our out ball. Frustrating no one on the end of the crosses, first half he put in some great crosses but no one making a run to get to the near post. Thought Deeney had one of his most productive games for ages... Shame he couldn't put the penalty away S
How's this for a stat. No one has kept more clean sheets in the Premier League this season than Watford. We have kept 8 clean sheets. That's quite remarkable, considering how bad our defence was for much of the season, and we've still got one of the worst records in terms of goals conceded.
I thought that was a fantastic performance, in my opinion we were clearly the better team and again we looked so organised Pearson really does have us well balanced and defending and attacking as a unit. Troy was excellent was an absolute nuisance for the Tottenham defence and I lost count of the amount of balls he won in the air, I thought he looked in better shape as well. I pray that Sarr is not out for long I read somewhere earlier it was a hamstring hopefully its minor. Results around us went our way as well Brighton and Villa drawing, West Ham only got a point and Norwich beat Bournemouth both of which picked up suspensions, Burnley have Leicester tomorrow so I will be cheering on the Foxes.
Level with Leicester and Liverpool, ridiculous really when you consider how bad our defence was earlier on in the season.
Or maybe that some of the doom and gloom mongers were wrong about how **** our defence was. I think Dawson is EXACTLY a Pearson defender. Head it, kick it, hoof it, put it in the stand. Bournemouth try to play pretty pretty stuff out from the back and they are going to go down (I hope)
Did anyone else notice how Spurs supporters were also applauding when we had the scarves out in memory of G.T. Before the game, also some were clapping on 72 minutes, maybe they aren’t a bad lot after all!
For me, the disappointment of the missed penalty was offset by the 10.04mm let off, so I'm ok. Tuesday is more "don't lose" than "must win".
And I've never been to a game where home and away fans have all joined together to sing one song like they did with "it's not football anymore" during one of the VAR farces today.
I think it's pathetic it wasn't allowed. We are talking millimetres here and it wasn't given. These sorts of small margins are killing the game and stopping goals. **** VAR.
I think most fans (apart from those Luton scummers) have nothing but respect for GT. I don't understand what their problem with Foster was though. Gave him plenty in the first half. Anyone know why that was?
