I turned on my phone after being out until 55 minutes and had a bit of s shock. Even by our recent standards wasn't expecting that. Thought Man City could have had the decency to declare at 7-0 and give us s turn at attack. ☹️
Why are you punishing yourself, the players will be buying champagne for the City players right now! Edits underlined.
FOLQUIER’S BACK IS TURNED FROM THE QUICK FREEKICK AND AGUERO RUNS PAST HIM. HAHAHAHAAHHAHA ITS SUNDAY LEAGUE!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The missus asked the Watford result, she knows very little about football do I said they got smashed but even she was shocked by 8-0.
The bloke struggled in Pre-season against QPR... Not really the game to throw him in for the league debut.
Yep, it's becoming very clear that this is down to the players and their lack of bottle/not giving a ****.
At least three goals are Femenia’s fault. Should not be seen in a Watford shirt for a few weeks at least. I also don’t want to see Ben Foster play for a while. I get it you’re carefree and don’t care about football that much and that’s how you keep yourself sane. But I don’t want to hear that from a Watford player after an 8-0 loss. Motd day scheme pretty scathing re lack of effort and rightly so. Foster not for the first time rushing out giving away needless penalty Unlucky with the free kick bouncing off cleverleys face. Rest of highlights showed lack of effort closing down and players going for the same ball All very worrying
As a middle aged horn I can confirm it was hard for non season ticket holders to get tickets for the cup final in 84. Tickets were issued based on what ticket stubs from previous games fans could show at the ticket office. Bin men were 'literally' getting shagged in the bushes just for the chance to search their bags for the 'semi v plymouth @ villa park' ticket stub which guaranteed a cup final ticket. Otherwise I think 3 stubs were needed for a ticket. There were 100,000 at Wembley and we sold out our allocation.
MOTD scathing over Watford’s lack of effort. I just cannot support this turd of a team. They disgust me. They should refund the fans and give their salaries to charity for today.
Just seen MOTD - the first few were down to our lack of discipline - be it giving the ball away, silly fouls like Foster on Marhez or basic lack of marking/concentration as pointed out above for the quick free kick We had 2 defenders going for the same ball from the corner as well... City did some good moves too of course but missed most of those chances thankfully!
Please tell me they replayed some of the pathetic efforts as part of this. There are a significant number of them that have put in way too little effort, collected their pay and just shrugged as we've faced relegation. They need showing up.
Shearer did show many of our players just standing around - pointing out the 4th goal as an example. 4 players not even looking at the ball and Holebas caught out with hands on hips.
Every time Kiko plays in defence he gives a goal away. Or more than one. Surely Janmaat is better. Holebas needs benching too. Cathcart was our best defender today. What do we think Doucoure is worth now? Moan over.
Having seen MOTD, I truly want every one of them put in front of the firing squad. Especially Femenia.
Here’s the training schedule for the lads today 1. Run around the training complex 8 times (1 km for every goal) 2. Watch the game again clockwork orange style 3. Strip off to their undies and have Mia Khalifa read comments at them from here in a degrading manner LUNCH 4. Burn Foster and Douc’s precious Aguero shirt in a bin in front of them, then kick the flaming wreck aggressively at them while insinuating it’s a metaphor for yesterday’s performance 5. Shooting practice 6. Strip off to their undies and have NathWFC take pop shots with a BB gun in a makeshift firing squad
That was unforgivable. There can be no excuse whatsoever for that shitshow of a performance which was devoid of any pride or professional integrity. Every Watford player involved with that should be utterly ashamed. They should have been utterly ashamed of the cup final result, and for that reason I expected to see an effort. Instead I saw a bunch of indifferent arse holes who'd given up before the starting whistle and clearly couldn't care less about the Watford fans who'd paid good money to be there and support them. I actually felt for Flores. Yeah, I don't care for his footballing philosophy or his tactics, and I didn't want him back, but I could really empathise with the bewildered and thoroughly pissed off look on his face. I'll back him before I defend any of those players who totally disgraced the shirt out there today. City will draw crap lower division sides in the cups who'll give them a million times more problems than we gave them. We were absolutely pathetic. This half arsed side will go down unless Flores can really take them by the scruff and get them performing. The ability is definitely there, but there's some serious attitude adjustment required.
Agree with this but what happens when the opposition score first. Confidence thru the floor. I’m as angry as everyone about the performance but try to be balanced in criticism. I just can’t see where the next win is coming from. Wholeheartedly agree Swansea is a confidence builder but it will be a different team to the one from yesterday. As others have said, Palace were seven games winless last season and look where they ended up. Brighton worked hard as well, it’s just this team give me no confidence that they are a team willing to pull together and get out of this mess.
Drop Foster for his mealy mouthed defeatism (NOT acceptable) and too frequent rush of blood to the head for Bachmann. Drop Femenia who can’t defend for Janmaat. Drop Holebas who’s not playing well and switching off for Masina. Drop Dawson who’s a carthorse for Kabasele. That’s a ‘drastic’ start after that debacle and they can’t do any worse than the defence he picked for City. And use my Line in the Sand suggestion in training to try to change the wimpy mentality shown in that game.
To be fair, if you’re going on unregulated gambling sites and turning to energy drinks purely because your club is sponsored by them, those are probably the least of your issues.
Fair enough, but if you’re suddenly necking energy drinks because you’ve seen their brand on a hoarding at Vicarage Road, your issues run much deeper.
That’s certainly true of this match, but we did have ‘fight’ against Arsenal. I just think the players went into this one expecting to get hammered, which is such a poor attitude.
