Well we either had no plans to improve the squad in August, which is a terrible decision. Or we tried desperately to improve the squad armed with the Richie war chest and failed to sign anyone, which is apalling. Take your pick.
Don't forget the club rubbing in the face of their supporters that we have to put up with Okaka on social media yesterday. ****s.
Some truth to this. I never followed Watford in preference to Spuds/Arsenhole/Man Utd or whoever because I thought it was going to be all glamour, cups and league titles. If you want to follow teams that pay £90 million and 300,000 a week wages, then you'd be way better off with one of the aforementioned 'popular' teams. You'll get to see 'em on the telly more than us too into the bargain....
What "ambitions" did they promise Doucoure in order for him to sign a new deal? “It has become perfectly clear that our ambitions as a club match Abdoulaye’s ambitions as a player, and we are looking forward to continuing to work together to reach our goals.” Sold down the river.
One was a very serious injury which took a long time to heal. Hoban is injury prone, Pereyra had one lasting a long time, very different. Delefeou broke a bone in his foot, that’s it, hardly injury prone
Which is all well and good if you have full sight of every bid that the club have put in this summer and every player they've spoken to. But if we're in for a player and he goes elsewhere because of money then what's the alternative? Do a Portsmouth?
Yep. Wholly representative. That's what he delivered, week in week out, 90 mins a game, 38 games a season. A true pro. We are lucky to have managed to fight off competition to hold onto him, just a shame we couldn't keep the guy who pinged the cross into him.
Vietto is very talented. And has not really had a chance at Atletico under Simeone. I think highly of him and his season at Villareal showed what he was capable of. To miss out on such players when chasing Sala instead is not that astute. Jokanovic has had a good window but then again he has a powerful backer.
I don’t rate Gracia as you and others know full well. But it’s hard to get away from the fact that he hasn’t been backed with necessary signings. I hope it isn’t needed to be used an excuse although I suspect it will be a lot. But tactics, formations and attitude will be down to him.
Oh come on, he's hardly had a proper run of games since he's been here. When he has played, he's done really well in holding up the ball - better than Deeney at that. Also, because of his bulk, he's talked about as though he's clumsy - but he's deceptively good with his feet. I'd rate him a far better natural striker than Gray for start off. I really hope I'm able to come back at the end of the season and quote this post back at you when he finishes as our top scorer with double figures.
Just read an interview where he claims Penaranda needs to sort out his work permit issues himself and he has no idea when they'll be resolved. The guy is completely and utterly detached from any sort of reality and never ever has any form of idea when our players are available. He said about Deulofeu's availability, 'two, three, four, maybe five days'. Genuinely believe he's kept in a room at London Colney and let out to look like he's training the teams and stand in the dugout passing on messages. Can't stand the grinning ****.
And Andre Gomes. And another ‘unnamed’ other according to the reporter outside their training ground on SSN.
You're literally replying to a post in which I outlined that he has had at least 2 injuries lasting a long time.
So within the next hour I fully expect to hear news of Zeegelaar signing a 5 year contract to placate the fans.
But on the plus side, the pozzos are £40m richer after the richarlison sale. Every cloud has a silver lining.
Unfortunately keeping Gracia may have been part of the problem. I'm wondering with a bigger name at the helm some of the deals may have gone through.
Christ, Burnton's season preview in the Guardian is depressing, and none of it is in any way unfair or fatalistic, he's been as even handed as you'd expect of a fan: https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/aug/09/premier-league-preview-watford-2018-2019
The Brighton match preview on the website indicated that he was still hopeful of getting more signings in before the window shut, especially in central midfield. Poor bloke. https://www.watfordfc.com/teams/first-team/team-news-brighton-hove-albion
