Think it will be us in 18th. We deserve to go down. We’ve been atrocious nearly all season and simply do not deserve to be playing in the Premier League. We are an insult to the big teams that should be in Premier League.
Whether or not we go down, why do we not deserve to go down compared to (say) Southampton or West Brom.
Yeah, kick us, Muff and Swansea out and bring in Weeds, The Wendies and the Royal Engineers. Proper teams with history.
You are probably right, but this is Watford we are talking about, and Deeney should have wrapped up, is it time for him to go?
It’s still unlikely to happen but OMG well done Mr Moore. A lot of results still have to go their way but do have a glimmer of hope.
My Deeney Revelation on Occupation Rd happened early last season, I’m afraid. He did a notable job in adapting to the Prem given his natural abilities. But he just isn’t upto the level for a team aspiring to Europe. I suspect that his tenure here has been extended by the frequent changes of coach.
Before today, 14 points from 19 games when Deeney has started, 24 from 17 when he hasn’t. 2 missed pens, suspensions, controversy. New 5 year contract it is then.
Still reckon 18th will go down with 36 points or less. Yeah mathematically it went to penultimate week so technically we weren't safe but basically our good start gave us an adequate cushion, and the west brom win was the one to keep us up
finally we can draw a line under this thread for another season. I expect some of the bedwetters will finally get a good nights sleep now.
I don't think we should be too hasty, the season isn't over yet. Still got that points deduction to come.
and embaressing. ive been steering clear of the forum, as it has made me want to bang my head against a brick wall lately with the negativity.
No need to close it just because we've made ourselves safe with one game left ? It's going to be a fascinating final week if Soton get anything tonight.
Is there any chance we could get a points deduction before the end of the season? After all, it is a possibility that someone in the admin department has filled out the paperwork of a player incorrectly at some point at the start of the season and we have as a result been fielding an ineligible player. Unlikely I know, but let's not let that stop us discussing the possibility ad nauseam. It is a possibility after all.
That would be my preference too, mainly because they would be bigger rivals to us in the transfer market if they stay in the PL, but also because we might be able to poach a player or two off them if they go down. Having said that there are some good potential pickings at Swansea and WBA too.
Gray 20 points from 14 starts, Okaka 4 points from 3 starts. Richarlison no points from 1 start as lone striker (?) only did this quickly so happy to be corrected.
Think Chadli could be decent, but he'd be competing with Hughes. Hegazi or Gibbs might be worth a go.
Yes he could be good, but as you said we are pretty well covered in MF, it's up front and at the back that we need to improve, don't you agree.
Southampton are winning at Everton. I've always thought they'd get out of this mess. So pleased we won today. The way it's set up, Southampton win today, and Swansea beat them on Tuesday, then they would both have been within striking distance of our previous 38 points total. You see, it was vital we won today, so concerns before this match were well founded.
Maybe save the 'I told you so's until after your prediction happens?? If at the end of next week Huddersfield are relagated with 39 points, then you can gloat
