I'll be delighted to be wrong about this, but we've watched an increasingly rudderless ship for the last three games, and going by the form of the last couple of seasons we're going to hit the rocks tomorrow.

I've hitherto felt confident Silva would and probably wanted to stay, possibly because I wanted to. I hoped it was press shi1te. Then i watched this and thought his demeanour was appalling:

His body language was appallingly negative. Not sure he mentioned the name "WATFORD" once. The only delusional mitigation I can think of is that he was taciturn, moody and introspective in interviews before the everton links. Like Mulder I want to believe but suspect I'm delusional.

 

Not watched the video yet, but I suspect this might be the beginning of the end for Silva and his short reign here.

I just can't get why he wants to leave. He's at a club atm with a great set up from top to bottom, a board that moved heaven and earth to get him, a team that is blessed with attacking talent and some really exciting young players.

Everton on the other hand are a complete mess at the moment. The only thing they can offer that we can't is a sickening amount of money.

If Silva's really that good, another bigger club than Everton will come calling. What's his rush to leave? Why take the first managerial job that comes your way?

He is acting like another Portuguese Coach who we know he admires. He likes the speculation and the attention it brings, and does little to end it, choosing open answers to closed questions, shrugging his shoulders, appearing disinterested, etc.

We should all rejoice if this is the official WFC position and we stick to it. Standing up to bullies is tough. I nearly choked on my cornflakes when it said Moshiri wants Cavani from PSG and a manager like Silva would be the one to entice him to Everton. Everton will be able to build due to the investment but as Citee have found out it takes years to create a genuine team that can win in Europe. We need to keep our cool and trust the Pozzos as always.

 

Will be interesting to see the Rookerys reaction to him. Will they try and embrace him or sing the Queque sing with the original words. Theres a similarity to this story and Deeney to Leicester. Very little was said by Watford, if anything, it would have cost us more to replace and would risk more by selling Deeney at that point.

Tiresome. He owes no loyalty to Watford. He's been here a few months and was a load of clubs' first choice when we signed him, so it's not like we rescued him from obscurity or threw him a lifeline. He has a duty to conduct himself in a professional manner, which, AFAICS, he is doing.

 

It's called having pride and self respect.

Martin Samuels "the voice of S**t, with another well researched, balanced argument as he's just said that Silva has had his head turned by the opportunity to build something at Everton and it's not surprising because Watford change their managers every season. Obviously missing the point that Everton courted Koeman, probably paid compensation to get him and then game him 9 games to prove himself, and in those 9 games he lost only to teams in the top seven.
