Whatever. Don't try to cover yourself you time travelling witch. Come on. Tell us the results for the rest of the season...
Just because I am a past winner of the score prediction league doesn't mean I'm going to share my predictions with someone who forum name is one of the first words ever uttered by man!
Any News on Pereyra? So glad he got to shove it in Conte's face about the fact he didn't rate him at Juventus.
Did Abramovic have a word with Marco? Apart from sending Gomes up front as a wide forward and putting Derek Payne on as a lone defender, it's difficult to imagine a worse change he could have made with the way the game was going.
We all agree it didn't work, hopefully he has crossed that one off he list of " to do " items, when we are playing the top 19! Putting Ben on against Palace when we are 5-0 up would be just about acceptable!
All those saying Silva didnt cost us the game are deluded. Taking Deeney for Watson put us on the back foot. We had Carillo on the right, Richarlison up front and Cleverly on the left. The balance was awful from there on in. Its pretty clear we are better attacking teams. Such a defensive sub basically said to Chelsea "go on see if you can break us down". And they did. Oh and just to be clear im fully behind Silva. The football we are playing is brilliant. He just made a mistake. He'll learn. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
We were better off playing on the front foot and defending higher up the pitch. Chelsea are too good to sit back like that against. It was a mistake to take Deeney off for Watson. A like for like would have been fine. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
I don't disagree. I myself wasn't happy at the time. However, I don't feel that in isolation cost us the match. I always enjoy your posts by the way.
Surely the failure to convert one of four, possibly five great chances cost us the game? 3-1 the game is beyond Chelsea.4-1 and Conte is packing his bags.
Agree. I argued this point a couple of pages ago. We lost in my opinion to a combination of poor finishing when on top, a bad decision for the first goal and our very poor defending of crosses. Whether the substitution helped us lose too is a matter of opinion, and in fairness to both sides of the debate we will probably never know. We did take the game to Chelsea after Deeney had gone off (80 mins) because in the 83rd or 84th minute Kabasele had a decent chance after a good cross by Femenia. I'm with Harrow though in not liking the message the substitition sent out, and I was surprised because it seemed out of kilter with our previous attacking positive attitude, both in that match and throughout the season so far.
I would say that Silva’s changes didn’t solve the issue myself. Chelsea were getting on top and starting to dominate midfield. Now whether he should have brought on Capoue as opposed to Watson or maybe Watson when Pereya got injured in order to leave Deeney as a target man, that may have been better.
Another great performance, a shame we weren't clinical enough in front of goal to kill the game off, the final nail in the coffin came with the negative substitution.
Gray doesn't represent a like for like with Deeney, he's a different sort of player. (The debate about whether or not he is good enough is a separate one). Okaka might have been, however, but he wasn't on the bench. I'm not a great fan of Okaka, but neither do I think he's poor; but what has happened to him?
Maybe not a like for like but hes a striker. Not having a striker upfront cost us. One thing less for the shaky Chelsea defence to worry about. Sent from my SM-G950F using Tapatalk
A big if I know but 3-1 and definitely 4-1 I believe there would of been no way that Chelsea team would have come back! Their heads would have dropped, the fans would be going mental and they would have lost all confidence to fight so we would have been able to contain them a little easier. Then the Watson/ Deeney sub would of made more sense! By missing our chances alone gave the Chelsea players a huge boost so they knew they we’re still in it and with fresh attacking legs against our tiring defence ones, well we know the rest! As KVA said, started them off under cover but planted them out once it had warmed up. Not sure why I didn't do them again this year? Mine were James Wong (?) seeds, he has a range of slightly odd stuff, tried a few but they were about the only ones that have worked or been worth the effort. I'd steer clear of the Asparagus beans, tough as old boots if you are 3 seconds late picking them. I too grew the kalette things you mentioned a few years ago, quite liked them, think mine were described as rosette sprouts or something but think they are the same. God I'm getting old!
Fair enough but at 2-1 up and playing the way we were I never thought we’d lose 4-2! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Mr IBB and I are off to Cambridge today to throw him off a nearby tower! Before that I shall be sending Stephen (the twig) down the Cam for his burial. Prayers will be said in thanks for his service and in the hope that I can discover another piece of lucky foliage. RIP Stephen.
Well I was away for the game, but managed to see it in a bar that was mostly full of Chelsea fans. The rubbish that came out of their mouths during the match went something like this - "we're the greatest, 'av it; f**ks sake, we've been rubbish this half; we're getting torn apart by f**king Watford, we're that s**t; f**k me they should be out of sight, ******* all over us; c'mon the Chelsea, only one winner now; get in there, what a comeback, was never in doubt against this load of s**t" And they looked just as stupid as they sounded. Having read everybody's assessment of the game I pretty much agree - the substitution of Watson on for Deeney and the loss of Pereyra hit us hard, but it was great to see us really take it to the champions on their own turf. We're not just here to survive, we're competing with teams on an almost equal footing that only a few years ago we'd have never believed.
Don't forget that Chelsea's substitutions played their part too. .... So long as lessons get learned I have absolutely no qualms about this result, it was a free hit anyway.
[THREAD DRIFT]I bought quite a few of his "OTW" tomato and cucumber plants last season (2016) and not one of them grew. They were quite dear AISTR.[/THREAD DRIFT].
Stephen is floating down the Cam. Fortunately he missed the two punts full of Japanese tourists and was last seen heading towards Grantchester.Hopefully he won't come into contact with Archer!
That's pretty any and every fan that plays us, in fact, that's our fans when we play someone near the bottom.
Agreed, if he was no longer adding value then needed to be moved on, can't afford passengers. Never caused problems though so wish him well and hope the injury clears up.
That's what I found with some of the unusual stuff that will apparently enjoy our climate, nothing happened at all or I had to nurse them like a ailing relative for months only to find the end product wasn't very nice anyway.
It's true enough Ub. I have been pondering this on court this morning and whilst stocking my new fridge freezer ( the old one died too but I resisted the temptation to send that into the Cam!) I can only hope that before Saturday I find another lucky item to adopt and bring with me to the game. Foliage,vegetable,monetary...who can say?
