What an arrogant thing to say.

Stoke are an established Premier League side who in the past 6 years have played in a cup final and got through the group stages of the Europa League.

I'm sure it's just a spellcheck/autocorrect thing but one of our greatest players ever deserves a correct name. Johnston.

Thank, could've sworn it was the chip shop, I saw him in there often enough. Once saw him eating a large fish supper in there an hour before kick-off. I assumed he wasn't going to be playing, but he did & scored a brace. What a guy.

Maybe he isn't the only one who has been caught out but it explains why the bloke hasn't been playing this season.

You're right, VoR. He waved at us from the window as we walked to the first match we played after he left the club.

I expect Holebas lives there now.

I was going to say that, but I was not sure. However, as your memory is coming up with the same conclusion as mine, maybe we are right?

Yes, the flat above the Hornet Shop when it was on the precinct. Other dwellers in that dark place were Molly the Cleaner, Kenny Jackett and George Reilly. It was one of the 'club houses'; Elton let Molly use it, but after she passed away in '83, it was used by the players.

Some dreadful things used to go on there when Mo was resident (was often seen letting out the dog/a dog/some dogs just before breakfast time), before Charlene moved down anyway, and when George was in there it wasn't unusual to find him in the discarded cardboard boxes out the back after a night at Paradise Lost.

Charlene, Mo's steady at the time, was nearly killed by the flat when the ceiling fell on her head whilst she was watching TV.

To answer both, no I'm not Charlene. But if I hadn't been watching her through a hole in the ceiling the thing wouldn't have collapsed.
