Saying this now, but Muff will beat us (and cue the forums getting inundated with Muff fans). Luckily for me I'll be somewhere in the skies over India/SE Asia, trying to keep my sanity as a crying baby 2 seats away from me drives me to the point of jumping out of the plane....

This is probably the most I've seen Bournemouth struggle all season. But to be fair to them they have at least created a couple of chances.

2-0 down, chasing the game, nothing to lose....and Iturbe still can't get off the bench. And yes, I'm fully aware he'll score the winner against us in a few weeks.

Bournemouth should have scored. There's no way they'll go down.

Although we'll probably find the 2nd half of the season harder than the first due to key players being a bit knackered, there's not a chance in hell we will go down. Stop worrying!

Muff only need 12 points from 13 games to reach the magic 40. OK their defence is a shambles & their attack is that of a good Championship side, but I reckon even they can manage another 12 points. Their midfield ping the ball around nicely like a good 5-a-side team, that in itself aught to be enough.

I agree. I thought they looked really good. A draw in that game would have been a fair result (though it's likely that if bournemouth had scored 1 arsenal would have stepped up a gear).

It definitely wont be easy when we play them in a few weeks time. I have a feeling that will end in a draw.

They ping the ball around very nicely , they have no worries of relegation considering the absolute dross below them

Muff won't go down sadly, as corrupt as they were last season, they genuinely deserve their league position this year

If we lose to palace and don't beat Bournemouth I reckon I'll be in full blown panic mode.

If we still need 7 points going into our last 5 games, (which with the exception of Liverpool) are all potentially against relegation stragglers (WBA; Norwich; Aston Villa and Sunderland) with two of those at home, I will expect us to have enough in the management team and squad to negotiate that minefield. We really could do with a win out of our next 3 matches, and a minimum of five points from our next four home games. Still a lot happier where we are than i expected to be at this stage. Chelsea must be worried now that Zouma is out for the rest of the season, likely to impact their chances of staying up.

Like us all when we get the 40pts I will be a lot more chilled. We can take a massive step in that direction in the next 2 games. 4 points would be great, 6 would be even better. I got the impression that we played Saturday like we had our eye on other games. We put so much into the Chelsea game it was a massive ask to do it again at Spurs. I was there and Spurs were very good. We didnt help ourselves but at times there was no options and a hoof forward would have been better than trying to pass out of trouble.

Palace picked up a good point at Swansea and no doubt have a couple of players back. One of their useless strikers is bound to score their 1 and only goal against us (see Trippier). However in Iggy we have a man who given service can get the goals.

That Zouma injury, who would of thought a leg could move in that direction so far, I had to watch it again frame by frame just to make sure I had seen what I had seen.

It's not about getting to 40 points. That's just a ballpark figure thrown around every year. You can stay up with fewer points and ditto go down with more if you're very unlucky.

The celebrations start when it's no longer mathematically possible to get relegated. On present form that should happen with around 3 or 4 games left.

Then Bournemouth game is a huge 6 pointer for them, but for me it's about improving our goal difference significantly.

If we continue with our negative set up we'll lose to Palace & be lucky to scrape a draw with the muff.

Aside from the freak win against Liverpool, we've only beaten Newcastle & Sunderland in the last 10 games; pathetic. With the exception of the draws agin Chelsea, we've lost every other game, including a dire Swansea & mediocre Soton.

We have a very negative, cautious set-up. Muff have won 4 in their last ten, including beating United & Palace, and drawing against Leicester, something we've failed to do; i'd suggest their 'who dares wins' style which although leaving them open at the rear, will get them through this season.

We shouldn't be surprised if we find ourselves in a late relegation battle and watch Flores go from Hero to villain

Apart from it not being a freak against Liverpool and the fact that Soton are miles from being mediocre, you might have had a point. As it is, you're talking cr@p

    What absolute *******s.

We may well lose to crystal palace and if we do there will be no disgrace in that at all. Bournemouth are an in-form team so a draw in that game wouldnt be anything like the disaster you describe.

The negative set up you criticise sees us 5 points ahead of the bournemouth team you are obsessed with by the way.

You are a clueless thicko who knows very, very little about the game. I suspect all of your pitiful opinions are formed from the comfort of your armchair too.

We have 3 wins in our last 10.
Stoke have 3 wins in their last 10.
Palace have 2 wins in their last 10.
Everton have 3 wins in their last 10.
West Ham have 4 wins in their last 10.
Chelsea have 3 wins in their last 10.

None of these teams are getting relegated. Which of these teams are the newly promoted one? We're in average form for a low-mid table PL side, which is pretty much what we are.

Guys, it's common knowledge that having 2 strikers on the pitch is more negative than just having 1.

Their defence was actually poor, they didn't keep any clean sheets for like the first 10 games!

Gomes gave them the game against us!

But yeah, fair ****ing play to them I thought the likes of Man City, Arsenal & Spurs would well and truly suss them out.

In fairness I imagine a lot of people (and I include myself among them) thought Leicester were basically a one-man team with a dodgy defence who could only play well in the second half and would fall apart once Vardy stopped scoring, they started losing away and playing anyone half-decent. Pretty understandable assumption to make when you look at a team who were bottom less than a year ago, conceded 19 goals in their first 11 games and kept having to come from behind to get results. While I thought they'd improve on last season's league position substantially, I also thought that their good start was just that, or at best an extended purple patch as their good run at the end of last season was based on beating poor teams or those in poor form and/or nothing to play for mostly at home.

But they've answered all those criticisms, in addition to those listed by Squibba - 8 goals conceded in their last 14 games, wins against Liverpool, at Everton and Spurs and four points against Man City, who they manage to beat convincingly on their own patch without Vardy even scoring, while we knacker ourselves out holding on to a 0-0 draw at home to a massively underperforming Chelsea before being lucky to lose only 1-0 at Spurs after being comprehensively outclassed all over the pitch. Where have they got the energy, and just as importantly, skill, to keep getting these results? Because call me deluded, as I said on another thread I don't believe that their team and manager is a million miles better than ours on paper.
