I don't feel the least bit sorry for anyone who travelled to Norwich, knowing full well what was going to happen.

They've obviously got absolutely nothing else going on in their sad little lives. Not even a dripping water pipe.

If Gino didn't alay the rumours of contract talks with other potential coaches, we would be in a shaky position regarding the break clause. If we were to openly jump the gun, and Quique can demonstrate we did so (sounding out a potential coach is one thing, but actually having the reported contract talks is grounds for a claim of pre-emptive repudiation) could lead to a full payout for our former head coach.

Don't get me wrong, I'd pay every penny of it as a bonus for keeping us up. Just as long as he turns the light out in his office as he leaves after the Sunderland game.

I didn't agree with his team selections lately but that's just my selection opinion. I didn't agree with his team selections before Xmas but that was just my selection opinion.
I'm happy with the job he's done. Regardless of the recent form I'm just happy that for once we have not got relegated. People want to be entertained too and I can understand that too to an extent so am not blaming you supporters that want it all i.e. attacking football and premiership survival.
But for me I just wanted us to stay up was sick of the inevitable bottom 3 of years past.
Should he stay or should he go? some will say yes some will say no. Some people are adamant we will go down if he stays. Some people see no obvious reason why this will happen as we don't have crystal balls.
I'd like him to prove himself next season too as he did keep us up and its only fair he be given the chance. He may have already decided to leave and told the players, who knows, maybe that's why they have downed tools a bit.
I wish him all the best wherever he might go because he done a good job keeping us up and I will always see him in a good light because of this.

Crazy conspiracy theory alert, but I think it is a legitimate possibility that Quique might have been tapped up quite a while ago for a higher prestige job, and has done what he has done recently as a way of absolutely affirming that the club will part ways with him in the summer so he can be free whilst leaving with a good PR rep.

I know it sounds tin-foil-hat-esque, but the secret footballer for one has been on record for ages talking about the reality of players downing tools to get a manager fired, or to protest certain decisions, etc etc. The footballing world and our club don't exist in a vacuum, and whilst I'm not saying that it did happen, it seems like a legitimate possiblity given the inexplicable nature of Quique's continued stubborn approach/failings.

 

It is a bewilderment and a shame that you blame everything and everyone but Quique. Although you make every apology for his short comings, you slate the team and the club for failing him, giving them none of the compassion or credit you say Quique deserves.

You are a hypocrite, and you should hang your head in shame. If Quique, our former head coach, deserves SOME credit, and to some extent he does, then so do the others involved.

If it wasn't for apologists and anti-fans like yourself he would be getting an easier ride on this forum too.

 

I read somewhere earlier, obviously cannot verify it as it was just a passing comment but someone mentioned that our owners were frankly pissed because they caught wind that QSF was enquiring about jobs in Spain midway through the season

I am responding to all of your shameful posts and shoutbox messages, which, unfortunately, are all still available on the site. When you insult the club and the team, it is there for all to see.

I fully support your right to state your opinion, but once you have made it, I reserve the right to fairly describe it for what it is.

 

But you're not describing it for what is you're just getting your toys out of the pram over it. All we have is a different opinion. I'm not telling other people to hang their heads in shame and calling them non fans because we don't share the same view.

Flores deserves a good send off on Sunday and I'm sure he'll get that, but he's made it hard for anyone to really defend him now.

I've backed him and will continue to do so until he goes, although it's inevitable that Sunday will be his last match. Keeping him for next season would be a mistake, as a lot of work needs to be done in order to change the mentality of what we've become. Losing is becoming a habit and it's a hard one to break free from.

A new voice, direction, and some dead wood pruning is very much needed.

He achieved great things this season and I'm sure everyone is thankful for that, would like to wish him well in his next job, and he wont be short of any takers I suspect, but it's clearly run it's course now.

 

You are getting yourself confused now about who said what, but you should be given great credit for your workman like defensive strategy and continued use of the same favourite words whilst leaving other potentially better arguments on the bench.

 

I thoroughly agree. Will be cheering us on, and doing my best to sing the Quique song to see him off. I am genuinely pleased he has kept us up, but he has done everything he can for this club and needs to find somewhere his talents can be properly appreciated. It's funny how our Full backs who initially were very good (Nyom especially up to Palace at home) have regressed under Flores, except arguably for Ake given the fact he was a Full back himself.

Since end of january we have had a worse run of form than Villa , obviously Gino doesnt want that form to carry on into next season , thus he is ready to make a change , seems reasonable to me that he would want to protect his families investment.

 

Can't be bothered to read the whole thread but I'm a little disappointed with Flores recent performances. Anyone else feel the same?
