Even if Flores knew he was leaving weeks ago he still had a professional responsibility to blood in a youngster or two and play some fringe players in the last few games.

This REALLY irritates me.To not play Birdhouse and Acrobat from the start is just egotistic and petty.

I am surprised at how much he has wound me up after doing what he was brought in for.

What frustrates me is that despite Jurado storming down the tunnel when taken off which QSF was annoyed about, he still automatically plays him. Jurado has got better for us but i still think he is a luxury we cant afford to have with his lack of tracking back. Berghuis actually looks quite good at the moment so why not give him a run.

Birdhouse did not look good last night, he gave it away, had a foul throw (I think that was him at least) and kept playing the same schoolboy slow floaty cross over the forwards head. He has provided two great crosses in previous weeks, but don't let that hide that he was ineffective last night. Perhaps coming in at the hour mark isn't helping, but he's not the messiah (that was Ramage of course).

Having slept on it, it's time for a philosophical look - I think the players are on the beach as there isn't any intensity. Watson I thought was poor and his head had gone. The only person I thought came out with any credit last night Troy...but how many times have we said that lately.

At 1-0 we were cruising and in control, I felt like we would win comfortably.

Anya was totally exposed at left back, out of position constantly. Their first goal he went AWOL - 3 defenders drawn to the ball and Anya didn't cover Redmond's run, however Gomesh didn't cover himself with glory.

Second goal, Anya's indiscipline in holding the line and playing on M'Bokani for the 2nd and 4th goals...M'Bokani is a deeply unattractive man.

Third goal, catalogue of mishaps - Nyom's slip, Cathcart's wild swing.

    All the goals were avoidable.

Now, QSF, it's clear he's going - so it looks like his attitude is 'I'm still head coach, so I'll pick my team and feck you if you don't like it' - I guess he's earned the right having accomplished our main goal of survival.

So, whoever's in charge next season will get my support...he or (she) is going to need it as next season will be more important than this season.

So with Sunderland staying up, Sunday should be a party for both clubs.

Regardless of how you feel about QSF, this season should be reflected on as a very successful one and we should enjoy Sunday and thank everyone at the club - it's the first time we won't have to sing "We'll be back as Champions" or don those brilliant T-shirts from the 99 campaign "Watford FC - We're out of your league" - and that feels good.

Amen to the above. He lifted his foot like a donkey when taking the throw. He then sarcastically challenged the lino who correctly explained to Berghuis what he'd done, Steven laughed and gestured at him for an extended period. Out of order and could've easily got booked.

He was slow and predictable to check back and get it on his left foot for a cross (normally overheat like he did at Anfield - are Dutch pitches wider or something?)

He isn't the sort of winger to go past anyone it seems, rather more like a D Beckham without the graft.

When a ball did fall to him in space with a clear view of goal, oddly at the far side of the penalty area on the left wing, rather than hit it first time with his preferred left foot which it was crying out for, he checked back and put it on his right. Then passed inside as the moment had gone. And lost it. Summed him up.

Anya - had a poor game, but not a full back.

No amount of harking back to the achievements of last year will undo the mess that Flores has now created. Regardless of results, he had a professional responsibility to carry the club through to the end of the season with some sort of dignity.

The idea that he has "earned the right" to **** around with our team is nonsense as far as I'm concerned. He's paid a load of money to be here and do his job, and if he had any respect for the players he's spent the entire season with, he wouldn't be behaving like a child. His meritless team selections are at the detriment of our entire squad and their futures at the club/elsewhere.

He's earned the right because he's achieved the objectives....even the club statement said that...to call it a nonsense is just typical playground mentality because you don't agree with his selections.

Get over yourself for 2 seconds...bask in your vindication that he won't be here next season and get behind the new coach.

Anya probably highlighted the downside to trying to be more attacking, not fair on him as no-one would say he's a classy full back, but the need for rigid discipline at the back showed up and cost us two goals (3 if you include Nyoms ice skates as what happens with poor full back discipline). So for all it's negative criticism since Christmas that seems to be the vogue, that's why we kept it so strict, because look what happens... This squad is good, but it's not Barcelona, and it looked good because it was working well as a unit.

    QSF Contract Question

Are there any contract lawyers in the forum today?

I mean can anyone shed any light as I've been wondering what the difference between a 2 year contract with a mutual break clause at year 1 is & just a 1 year contract??

Sounds better but does it not amount to the same thing?!

If it's a two-year cnotract the terms are set for two years. If it's a one-year contract and you want to stay, you negotiate terms all over again.

I don't know any other business where, if you achieve your objectives ahead of time, you're allowed to sit on your arse and achieve nothing more for the rest of the year.

Sure, but either party are going to have a right to renegotiate or break off at the end of year 1 anyway, even if it was initially based on a 2 year contract.

Are they? Depends how the clause is drafted and the circumstances in which it can be exercised.

A break clause might say employee can exercise the break clause with 1 months notice, and the employer might be able to with 3 months notice. We could have exercised the clause and be paying him to September

This type of contract is regularly used in a situation where it suits to roll on a year. So you have already agreed next years terms and now agree to add a third year, negotiate those terms and away you go for another year. You might want to negotiate the 2nd year terms slightly but you already have a deal in principle and in place.

best thing about Mazzarri coming in is that we can recycle one of our old favourite chants:

    Mazzarri, whooaah,
    Mazzarri, whooaah,
    He comes from Italy,
    He's nearly six foot three,
    Mazzarri, whooaah...

Most contracts have termination clauses with a period of notice that can be exercised by either party.
Football contracts do operate differently but most have performance related pay I.e. he could get paid a lump sum for keeping Watford in the Prem etc.

In context of the break clause which QSF asked for it presumably works both ways and both parties walk away without any financial 'penalty' after a year.

I wouldn't get too hung up with the detail. Whether it is right or wrong - QSF will get the tin tack after the Sunderland game

    Song for Quique on Sunday

To the tune of let it go from Frozen

'A **** will leave our football club tonight
Not a striker to be seen
A head coach of stubborn ****ness
    A pigheaded ****ing ****
The **** is leaving so thank **** that **** is gone
Now the **** has left we can sing our song.

Don't let him back don't let him near
Never let that **** come around here
Don't let him coach just get him gone
    And now he's gone
    Let him go
    Let him go
Let him **** off back to Spain
Let him go let him go
    His football is a pain
    He's a ****
    His football's ****
    Let the **** **** off
The **** never belonged here anyway

He needs to go , but let's remember we stayed in the prem and that has to be down to him in the same way that the last 4 months also is down to him

  33. I'm really quite sad about all this. It's clear he is going, about which I am not at all sad, but as Toby has said, he's kept us in the PL for the first time. I hope grudges and the taint of the last few weeks are put aside and we give him a good send off on Sunday.
