He can hope but I don't see a move happening til next year realistically. He has the ability for it but needs another year to grow into his body and develop more consistency before we can get good money.

If even half the money went into the squad I’d sell him right now. Could be a great player one day, but could always end up being one of those players who looks good but doesn’t actually do much.

 

Incredible talent. So far he's no better than Anthony MacNamee was at the same age.

Until he starts weighing in with some goals his chances of a "big" move are slim .
Low scoring attacking players are 10-a-penny .

 

That might have to wait, I've just awarded myself a new Duxbury-style £20k a week contract for a couple of previews I did last season.

 

We seem to have a collection of no-scoring attacking players

 

And probably the reason why they are here as opposed to a Premier div team

 

I have a feeling he'll be a last minute signing for someone thus giving the club no chance to spend any of the money.

Then a 19 year old puts in a 5/10 performance and it's SELL HIM!! Incredible that people are surprised that actual teenagers are inconsistent when playing at this level.

No end product is a fair critique, but name a kid his age that regularly tots up goals and assists at this level.

There's no one in our squad capable of playing the type of passes he regularly puts through to our attackers. Put him in a decent side and all of a sudden he's got 10 assists and the 'end product' argument goes away.

Poor performance yesterday but still played a perfectly weighted reverse pass to Rajovic, split the whole defence. Rajovic couldn't get the shot away and it comes to nothing. Put a Piroe, or an Armstrong on the end of that and it's a goal, and a great assist.

Staggering that as we drift back into mediocrity, people want rid of one of the last exciting, mercurial talents we still have.

 

It would appear that the player/agent want out and we have all seen the sort of performances that scenario brings

I think you have missed the point. Asprilla has apparently expressed a wish to leave. VI has consistently stated he only wants players who want to play for the club. If that is the case get rid.

 

Not buying this nonsense that Asprilla wants out. All paper talk. Maybe agent talk. Regardless I’m certain he stays. We saw the same thing every window for the last 4 windows with other players like Pedro and Sarr. The window slammed shut and they were both still here.

 

So what he had an underwhelming game, if an underwhelming game means players are off, then we'd be left with very few players!

 

Not sure how committed they were though based on their performances and their value fell. As a mid/lower champ team we are going to need to let our starlets go earlier than before. Keep him if we think he's going to make a huge difference to our prospects this season. If not sell for a decent fee and sell-on clause and use the proceeds to buy someone who will seriously improve the side, potentially a goalscorer, and pocket the change.

 

But since it's very unlikely a club comes in with an offer that's too good to turn down yet, what's the rush? He's had his first poorish game of the season, it doesn't mean he won't be influential this season

 

Of course. Someone offers £8m, we don't sell.
Someone offers £20m and a share of future upside, we sell.

 

Do we sell at £20m this late in the window? Unless we desperately need it I don't get why we wouldn't hold out until January because its not like he can ruin his reputation between now and then (on the field at least)

 

There's no way anyone will offer anything close to £10 million....

If they rate him that lowly, there’s no point in them even signing him anyway.

 

I can't believe people would sell this kid, we've barely scratched the surface of his potential.
