Lols. I love your parody post. For sure his points per game are not at all what we expect ***. *** aka more points! Thank you Xisco
I agree, they are definitely problems. But Xisco is not a good coach. Got lucky with the enforced formation change and now he's starting to look clueless again as he did with his 442 earlier in the season.
It's time for you to man up Kid bite the bullet and make changes, you are the one who sees them in training every day so you should know what to do, so get the **** on with it man and get us promoted.
Not if his impact at Bristol City is any indication. Ten games, three wins, two draws, five defeats. His first two matches were wins. If look at the last five it’s three defeats and two draws. The home record is not good either if we are looking for them to beat Brentford. Five games so far, four defeats and a draw. That looks like a record that is classic Pozzo “you’re sacked”
If we get promoted, Xisco deserves all the praise in the world for getting automatic promotion when it looked like we were destined for the playoffs at best to all of us. That said, I don’t think he did anything that the vast majority of us on here weren’t calling for long before his appointment - drop the useless wasters up front and put players in their best positions. And be the opposite of Ivic in your conduct. But IF we go up, I simply believe that’s where it should stop. Praise and praise alone. I firmly believe if we keep him in place, we will be regretting it after just a handful of games next season. And we saw last season how that ends up. His in-game management is disastrous and you can count on one hand the amount of times he’s made the obvious change at the right time. He will get exposed tactically in the PL, I’m absolutely certain of it.
Look at what Woodgate is doing at Bournemouth, a previously very poor manager is now somehow doing very well, that is the common denominator? They’ve got a great squad for the Championship, just like us. You don’t need a premier league survival squad to get automatic promotion, far from it. It’s not rocket science when you’ve got better players than most of the other teams. Just like Jokanovic, getting those better quality players to gain championship promotion doesn’t translate in any way to keeping a side in the Premier League.
Got their key players performing basically. Maybe down to Woodgate or just the players applying themselves?
He's done alright. But any praise for him potentially getting promoted was eroded by the complete disgrace of yesterday. A leisure centre manager exposed by a limited rat-faced w*nk merchant. A new low for this regime.
Pozzo and his recent managerial appointments and lack of player investment is the ultimate problem, I reckon. Ever since he broke with his usual methods and didn't sack gracia after the cup final humiliation it's been one bad decision after another. Including munoz.
If we don’t go up this year, we won’t exist as a club in a few years time (massive exaggeration but you get the point). It will be detrimental to us as a club and set us back at least 10 years. We need premier league football for the money. Failure to go up will result in us selling; Sierralta, Kaba, Chalobah, Hughes, Cucho, and Sarr at the very least. Pedro, Sema, Kiko, Quina, could also be sold. We would still be stuck with Deeney and Gray on massive wages. Personally speaking, I want us to go up and spend very little. There are some very good free options that would make us stronger. Give Chalobah and Hughes new long term contracts, tie down Cucho as well long term. Clear as much debt as we can, and secure our future. Not expecting us to do much in the Prem anyway, so might as well use the money wisely to pay off debt. Get rid of Deeney, Gray and Success at the very least, (even if we have to pay them off) to help clear the wage bill. I’m sure between the 3 of them it’s £200k p/w (Deeney £100k, Gray £70k, Success £30k) or nearabouts. That’s £10.4mil a year on those 3 alone! If we go up, we have to be smart financially. If I’m Gino, I’m looking for an investor who can help bankroll the club. We need the Premier League money.
I don’t think Cucho will be here next season regardless of what league we are in. Can see another Suarez /Pervis type situation there. Certainly Sarr and Sierralta will attract the most interest and as you say Hughes /Chalobah will probably move on as sellable assets out of contract in 2022z. Agree about the strikers - all of no value for us.
The issue we’re going to have is that Cucho whether he stays or goes hasn't pulled up any trees, and Pedro is not even close to ready that’s if he makes it at all. If we want to make an attempt to stay up we need a half decent striker and they’re not cheap. That’s also not allowing for the fact we need to cut at least three of our useless strikers from the wage bill which will cost money too. If we do go up, what we do or don’t spend on a striker will make our intentions for next season pretty clear.
Teams have worked out that if you stop Kiko and Sarr then we've got no answers. It's so obvious that even a gurning simpleton like myself can see it, so what is this guy doing about it because I guarantee you it's going to keep happening! Even switching Sarr to the left occasionally would give the opposition something else to think about, but Xisco just keeps him out there on the right being starved of the ball for 90 minutes. He's got a whole ******* team of coaches and analysts working with him, are they all mindless yes men or does he not listen to them?
Think the main problem is that Sema on the left has been nowhere near as potent as he was earlier in the season, and so all teams need to do is stop Sarr and they've gone a long way to stopping us. The issue is getting more out of that left hand side, but how?
Hungbo. Give the kid a chance. At least he is direct and runs at defenders with pace. Can put a decent cross in as well.
I'd like to see more of him, but I can understand the reluctance, all he's had so far are cameos against tired legs, can he reproduce that from the start?
Agree. We won’t know unless we try. Right now Sema looks and is shot. He has been for a while. The problem with yesterday was we were carrying to many players. You can afford to carry a player in any game, yesterday though, we were carrying Lazaar, Ekong, Sema and PZ7. Xisco should have seen this at HT and pulled at least 3 of them. He needed to change it up. Second half we should have gone 3-4-3 Should have brought on Cathcart, Kaba, Cleverley and Hungbo Cathcart Kaba Sierralta Kiko Cleverley Hughes Sema Sarr Pedro Hungbo. It was crying out for fresh legs, a tactical change and pressure on their backline. Just baffles me that the normal fan could see this, but our head coaches never seem to.
Problem is with 3 at the back, I don't see a system with 3 CBs that suits us, we either sacrifice a man in the midfield, or sacrifice wingers and play with 2 up top despite not having any decent out and out strikers. We tried it earlier in the season and it didn't really work, ultimately I think we were just hamstrung by key players being out
He's been somewhat insulated from the poison by never actually having been made to play a minute or spend even half a season at a Pozzo club...
Cucho has been alright these past few seasons in poor La Liga teams, but the problem for him is that a) the hype has died down (unlike Suarez and Estupinan who were on hot form last season), and b) he's injured. I don't see him fancying a season in the Championship, but I reckon we'd keep him if we go up. Whether he'd be much cop in the Prem (and indeed where would he play) is up for debate
Wouldn’t surprise me. Gino probably has the bag propping his office door open Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Jose is rumoured to be going to Valencia to replace their manager who is favoured to be going out the door. Maybe we should go for the outgoing manager...
