Squibba's mum did a pretty atrocious job of bringing him up unfortunately. I was brought up to show respect for others especially my elders. His mum turned him out to be an obnoxious little oik.
Oh yeah because 18 years is a teenage, you sound more like the '*****r' here with your love for 'La.....68'
Oh yes I should respect to someone who labelled everyone here who called us all spoiled ungrateful *****? Idiot what hypocrisy.
It is, isn't it? Hence 'Eighteen'? But I'm a spolied ungrateful **** as well, as I think we need another striker too. I might change my mind if I see Acuna get a decent run in the team.
I see this one has descended into a farce - but I would still be happy to see him back. He is a natural goalscorer, still young and would inject a more direct threat. At a reasonable cost I would be very happy to see him back,
I'd prefer Matt Fryatt (yes I've said this three times already but damn it needs to be said more times)
I don't call a player who has scored 5 goals in his last 34 appearances exactly a natural goalscorer!
In a seven year period Daniel Sturridge scored 18 goals for Man City and Chelsea. Since joining Liverpool he has scored the same amount in 23 games.
It is. So it 19. An 18 year old isn't physically fully grown, and a long way from full adult mental maturity. You don't see that when you're 18. You will when you're in your mid to late 20s.
You could get a good job twisting statistics for any politician! Firstly, I agree Sturridge only scored 18 goals in 84 appearances for Man City and Chelsea but these were scored in the PREMIERSHIP not the Championship and the first was scored when he was only 17. Secondly, during the 7 year period he was loaned out to Bolton who at that time were in the Premiership where he scored 8 goals in only 12 games. Bearing in mind Sordell only scored 4 goals in 25 games for Bolton all of which I believe were in the Championship this bears no comparison. To compare Sturridge with Sordell is like comparing Iwelumo to Crouch.
Wow, that one really did go over your head didn't it? I'm not making a direct comparison between Sturridge and Sordell in terms of their respective quality or saying that Sordell is anywhere near as good as Sturridge. My point was that players perform better in different types of teams which suit them more. i.e: Sturridge is more suited to and performed better playing for Liverpool than he was for Chelsea and Sordell may be more suited to and perform better playing for another club.
So you're saying that Sordell should be playing for Liverpool and England? You really are deluded mate!
I am afraid your logic or lack of it has certainly gone over my head. You may be able to argue that Sordell was not suited to perform for Bolton, but a return of 1 goal in 9 games for Charlton seems he is not suited there either. What makes you think he would do better at Watford? Time has moved on and he would struggle to even get on the bench for a currently under performing Watford side.
He prospered when he was with us under Malky and under Dyche to a slightly lesser extent. One bad patch at a young age after making a move that he didn't want to make and played for sides who's style of play doesn't suit his doesn't necessarily stop him from being a goalscorer. I do not have the knowledge to know whether he would prosper at another club or which club that would be as I don't know enough about what's behind his drop in form or his personal and professional situation at the moment. The point I'm making is that neither of us do and to write him off based on his current bad patch like you have done is unfair and premature.
At no time have I written off. The original topic of this thread was whether Sordell would be a good addition to the Watford squad. I am of the opinion that he wouldn't, based on his recent poor goalscoring form with two different Championship sides one of which is clearly inferior to us. Yes he may recover his previous form, but the aim of the owners of this club is to get promotion as soon as possible and towards this aim they are bringing in better class players. Realistically Sordell would not get in ahead of Deeney, Forestieri or Fabrini and probably not Acuna. Whilst he is still relatively young we do have the likes of Ikpeazu and Mensah who MAY be better prospects. With regard to him prospering under Malky so did Ross Jenkins and where is he now? Personally I think Sordell has a future but he may have to drop down a division to get his confidence back. Basically we do not have time and money to invest on him in our present position.
I pay adult rates on trains, football matches etc. I can do nearly everything you can but yes by title I am still a teenager.
