All credit for this idea goes to Travis Bickle. If we could get him (either now or in January), would you have Marvin Sordell back at Vicarage Road?
Fessi would love having a real life princess at the club. The princess is one of the archetypal Disney characters.
No, because we only really have room for one more striker and he has to be someone who will come in and make a difference. This is nothing against Sordell at all, and if there was room I'd have him as a squad player, but he's not really done it at Bolton and he's only making the bench at Charlton. He's under contract at Bolton until June 2015, so they will want their money back on him. If he was on a free, that's a different matter, but I don't think he's really progressed as a player since he left us.
He's had a few problems since he left and maybe coming back to where he feels at home might help him kick start his career. Being English helps as well as we are being linked with Merkel amongst others but nobody home grown. Might depend on the fee?
As you imply, it would be a risk. I wonder if we are in a position to take that risk right now? Having said that, of course, ANY signing is a risk.
I'm guessing you are joking? We have a lump of a thug in Deeney, and all it is encouraging is big boots up to him, without stretching the opposition at all. Yes it is good to mix it up a little, but considering we pride ourselves on passing football, we seem to be playing rather direct ourselves. To find a rapid striker that can finish is a hard find, but to find one that can hold up the ball too would be nearly impossible, especially in this division.
Would definately have him back, still very surprised we haven't signed another striker on loan. I'd even be tempted to give Ebanks-Blake (who is still only 27 and without a club) a contract until the end of the season. You may be aware that Deeneys inept performances and constant whining at team mates is beginning to get right on my t!ts.
If he'd been to prison for ABH or had a face like a wrinkled moon then fair enough. And anyway, one thug, not work put in two thugs - seems to work for every other champ team
I think we don't have nearly enough players right now with solid experience of the championship. Sordell knows this league and flourished in his last spell here with a less-talented midfield. With the better midfield we have now, I would love to see him back.
It won't surprise me if we don't sign another striker. Any talk from the club seems to point to a midfielder coming in. Also someone, despite people's views of his performances, may come in for Deeney.
Are we really that desperate to sign a so called striker who has scored 5 goals in 34 appearances since he left us?
I'd have him beck here in a shot. He was on a real upward trend when he left us, England U21's and looking good, he really stagnated at Bolton. He may not be getting the right service, played out of position, or their system may not suit him, at Charlton. I remember them trying to play him as a lone striker here, which made him look poor. He is a known entity, and knows the demands and challenges of championship football.
Not sure he's what we are looking for. We either need backup for Abdi of someone who can create the chances for our forward men. Nothing against Marv who played well for us but I think we already have players of his calibre and type in the squad.
Nothing shouts 'Watford Fan' more than demanding the return of an average former player based on an unlucky away draw at Brighton.
I'd have him playing the Vydra role so he'd replace Fessi or Fabs, though I actually class both of those players as attacking midfielders, rather than out and out strikers.
No I wouldn't have Sordell back because I'm not a spoiled ungrateful c**t who has no appreciation for the fact Forestieri, Fabrinni & Acuna chose to drop a league and play for our team I despair of fellow Watford supporters sometimes, I really do....
Oh be quiet will you. I am just as privileged as you to have these players here but we're a GOOD club let's not forget that. I'd have rather play for Watford FC then shipped out on loan to Empoli, Malaga and Serie B Bari. Acuna has made a step up because Girona are ****e with little reputation. Fabbrini has an Italy cap albeit yes but didn't settle on loan at Palermo. We WATFORD FC have given all these players a chance to show what they can do with some regular football which not many other clubs were offering in one of the most competitive league's in the world. The Championship is tougher than the Spanish and Italian second tier and the prize for succeeding in the Championship is far greater than winning the second tier in other countries, heck Real Madrid even chuck their reserves in the Spanish second league. I am eternally thankful to the Pozzo's for saving our club and appericiate the great talents that we have been given (for free) but they need as much as we need them and to be fair the 3 you speak of aren't scoring the goals required of them right now so to label fans who are discussion a solution to a rather clear problem as 'spoiled ungrateful *****' makes you sir a w**ker
Oh dear babez. Is it that time of the month for you already? We need another striker, and I decided to throw Sordell's name out there to see what people on here think. If you can't understand that, don't bother coming back.
