If he did have any confidence in his own footballing ability, then it was completely misplaced anyway.
There are reasons why he was an international captain yet wasn't in the first team at Udinese and was free to join our happy band. Those reasons have been clear to see.
He might have heard a call, can you say he didn't? No you can't! So I am not just describing the situation am I
Well, I have been through all the reasons why that is vanishingly unlikely on this very thread already, actually. For your benefit, it's post No. 196 - just the eight posts above yours.
I repeat can you say he didn't hear a call, and again despite what you say you cannot. So yet again I am not just describing the situation, as neither you me or anybody else, except WTE can verify it one way or the other. You have your guess and I have mine, end of!
But that's the whole point - beyond the balance of reason you can say that no, he didn't hear a call. You and I don't have different 'guesses', they're the same thing, and it's just what happened.
If he had heard a call, then Ranieri or Sissoko (the captain would have said so). Ranieri even said that he left it because he thought there was no one behind him. It’s pretty conclusive that there was no shout from anyone.
Are you two joint at the hip or are you one and the same person as you are always the 1st to back each other up with "Likes" etc. Just wondering
I'm actually pleased to be able to announce that Burnsy has agreed to come on board as the third contributor for @UEA_Hornet and I's podcast!!!
I’m already signed up to the BWO Podcast with @GoingDown @Jumbolina @wfcmoog @NathWFC. Good luck with it though.
Well Sissoko has come out and said WTE heard a call...I think. https://www.watfordfc.com/news/sissoko-we-need-to-learn-from-our-mistakes
Yeah, it's from his full post-game interview yesterday - addressed it here https://wfcforums.com/index.php?threads/william-troost-ekong.57605/page-6#post-3071396
Exactly. HAD he heard a call apparently from the keeper as he approached a ball still some distance outside the penalty area, he should have headed it as far away as possible, and politely enquired of the keeper as to what sort of 5hit-for-brains call was that to give!
The only call that bald headed tosspot ought to be getting is from the Job Centre. I bet that defeat costs us staying up. Single handedly relegated us. I've had it with him. Pile of old shyte. If the other centre backs are injured, then play an U-23.
Oh and by the way, I don't hear any fackin' mea culpa from the bloke, holding his hands up and apologising to his teammates, the fans and the manager.
Could be onto something here. Maybe he's like Samson and when he shaved his head, he lost the power to do the two things he was actually ok at, heading the ball and sticking with attackers as they ran into the box.
He maybe a fxcking calamitous, red nose wearing, unicycle riding, fit twenty into a small car and exit in humorous fashion, useless ****. But hes our fxcking calamitous, red nose wearing, unicycle riding, fit twenty into a small car and exit in humorous fashion, useless ****. So watch you're saying alright !
He actually played better 2nd half, but unfortunately he is still not good enough to be a first choice CB in the Premier League.
Well we all wondered if Troost could make the step up and it's been a resounding no. A top 10 Championship side looks about his level. Not his fault obviously but the club have gambled on Troost and Sierralta making the step up and it hasn't paid off. Although we're yet to see Sierralta have a run of games.
He's one of the most horrendously out of his depth centre backs I've ever seen at this level. What make it even funnier is that his centre back partner is another one of them.
It’s beyond a joke at this stage, it’s like he’s not even a footballer and he hasn’t got a clue what to do, and he’s actually getting worse game by game. He’s 28, so should be at his absolute peak, he should’ve learnt throughout his entire career and have got better and better to the point he knows what he’s doing and the errors he makes are minimal, instead he’s just kind of imploding before our eyes.
I assume he's only starting still because Kabasele isn't quite ready. Kaba definitely isn't the answer but I can see Ranieri putting him in for Brentford to see what he can do.
Seems to be a running theme, has good moments in games, but it matters for little when he makes match-defining errors on a regular basis. Have to say, I feel for him, it's not his fault he's been relied upon so much this season, even with Sierralta or Nkoulou alongside him, it seems to make a bit of a difference, but him and Cathcart are both the kind of defenders who need their hand held, together they are a disaster
