He should have been dropped after Leicester away, or was Kabasele not fit to play or WTE came across as better in training?

With Ranieri having dropped Rose for his embarrassing recent performances, to the point of even starting a relatively inexperienced RB ahead of him, there is surely no way WTE can play the next game.

The problem for Kabs is match fitness, what's it been nearly/over a year since he last played 90 minutes?

To my mind it's a case of where's the risk. You play someone who guarantees a few mistakes EVERY match, or someone who is rusty and has a tendency of making mistakes, but not in every match.

We cannot keep playing WTE. It's the same as Rose. Their performance levels are so far below what is required, something else has to be tried.

He is going to cost us survival simply not good enough for Premier league football

I personally would prefer Kabs, more nous and ability but unlikely he'll last 90 minutes.

So the scenarios are Kabs starts then comes off and WTF comes on or WTF starts and Kabs comes on. Either way WTF will be on the pitch for a significant period of the game.

WTE should of never been a starter in the Premier anyway just on last season's performances. But Ranieri has absolutely no hope of keeping a clean sheet until reinforcements arrive. That's if any do.
No time for excuses now. Get the deals done now so they're at the club on the first of January.

The only positive is that we have Spurs on the 1st but then don't play Newcastle until the 15th. That gives us half the window to get bodies in.

If come the Newcastle game no one's come in then we are down. We'll lose that having likely already failed to pick up many points between now and then and we're gone.

At least one quality centre back, preferably two, a left back and a holding midfielder. That's the minimum requirement, otherwise we are done.

The definition of madness is doing the same thing over again and expecting Troost not to drop a clanger.
Dollars to donuts the opposition have been targeting him and are waiting for one of his episodes to exploit.
If he is seen trudging out against Burnley and other options are warming the bench then we may as well
call it a day . It is unfair to expect our forwards to outscore the opposition and WTE errors .

Irony was that last night was probably his most dominant display in ages.

I somewhat feel for him as he shouldn't have been in the side after the Leicester game (or before that really), and now he's clearly bereft of confidence, which means he's reached another level of calamity none of us thought possible.

Easily the worst centre half we've actually relied on under the Pozzo's. Like Bachmann, he benefited hugely from playing in a side teams were afraid to attack last season because of the theat posed by Sarr.

Agree with most apart from the first part as he was fortunate that their gun striker was unavailable

Have we ever had a player having a worse season than WTE currently is? I don't think he's the worst player we have had, he's just constantly handing out points

I was thinking this last night. I really struggle to think of a player having such a mare.

I think in the last two seasons he's been directly at fault for a goal in at least 20 games, and probably countless more where he's made an error that almost led to a goal

Very true. I didn't take the cup game into consideration. But I still believe deals need to be done right now. I'm being slightly pedantic but believe the extra couple of weeks benefits us and especially the player, they can settle into the new area and just concentrate on their football.
Diawara at Roma plus Lukaku at Lazio have both been enquired about. That comes from my father in law who is a massive Roma fan and gets to hear snippets.
Personally I'd be all over Rodon at Spurs but my dream in Rugani at Juventus. He can't buy minutes there at the moment.
But we all know we'll end up with some aging carp as usual.

We'll get Samir or De Maio from Udinese and they'll probably turn out to be no better than Troost.

I reckon Newcastle will be a disaster though, they’ve got nobody at that club who has a clue how to spend money, and then there is their very obvious predicament that will make it even harder to attract the players they need for their circumstances.

If they end up just giving Howe a blank chequebook I reckon it will massively end in tears.

I think it will go better than Pozzo looking at our defensive options before bringing in a bantam weight winger.

Oh absolutely, I just think Howe has only really managed at best at mid table level in the PL and only fairly fleetingly, yet they will probably need a pro rata European qualification level performance in the second half of the season to stay up. So he will need to attract that level of player which is something he’s never done before. It’s a bit like Moyes at Man Utd and Hodgson at Liverpool, they were a bit out of their depth and just went for the same players they were used to because they didn’t really have the gravitas or know how to recruit at the level they needed to. Plus as far as I’m away they haven’t recruited any sort of DOF that has any real know how.

But yeah, I’d still back them to get closer to what they need than we will based on all previous January windows.

Kabs used to have brain farts and give way fouls and penalties don't forget. Don't assume he is the answer. And for all we know he may have regressed as a player like Deeney and Gray did. We just require a different more competent CB to be playing.

    Nope. Absolute silence.

The same as after the Leicester duck out which cost us the game.

A little bit cowardly in my opinion. I'm not asking for him to grovel, but a word or two of apology would certainly not go amiss.
