Really f**king baffles me how someone can strike a ball so well from 60 yards then produces that dreadful penalty from 12 yards. Utterly infuriating.
Even with the penalty miss, that's the most undeserved point I can recall. Absolutely awful. Yet one of the best goals you'll ever see.
So nothing much learnt from game number one by Edwards. Midfield over run Sema left exposed time and time again. And still no changes made at halftime. Fortunate to be level and much the same in the second half although as WBA tired there was a little more of a foothold. But the midfield was non existent. Edwards was crying keep the ball but none of the back three or midfield can. Our front three had little service. One moment of brilliance and a moment of fortune that led to a penalty. Unsurprisingly missed by Sarr. You could tell from his body language and stuttering run. Why not let Dennis take it ? Sema for once did his best. Kamara was relatively solid and Kabasele. Gaspar with a nice cameo. Pedro flashes of brilliance while Sarr has Goal of the Season already wrapped up. However an abysmal effort with nothing much learnt by Edwards or the coaching team. We never got our wing backs forward which is crucial in the system Edwards plays and that midfield is painfully limited. Until Louza comes back and someone else is signed zero chance of getting a hold in games and providing the front three with chances or control of the ball. We barely created anything or even a passage of passing play. Defensively we were found wanting on the first ball at set pieces and looked nervous many times. Bachmann bailed the side out. We're lucky this was not a hiding. When you see Swift, Yokuslu and Wallace a little better recruitment might make us a balanced team and a side with which RE can work and get his plan going.
Jed Wallace putting 20+ crosses into the box…why is Sema still on the pitch?? That side has been abused constantly. If they had a player who could head a ball we’d have been absolutely hammered
Stole that point. One day we'll realise that sitting back and defending a 1 goal lead doesn't work, nor does not making subs when they're clearly needed after 60 mins.
Frankly, we should never speak of this again. Daylight robbery from us for that point. Thank **** it's over.

Horrific performance, not much more to say. Probably the worst performance from any team I've ever seen. Bachman was excellent, Sarr had a decent first half, Kayembe was okay but shouldn't be a starter. Kamara looks worse in the Championship than he did in the PL, because he plays out of position. I don't think we can play 3 at the back. We were pretty poor in a lot of games under Ivic and we had an okay first game and absoulutely sh*t second game under Edwards. Switch to a back 4. It suits our players more. Kamara on the left, Gaspar on the right. Get a new midfielder or two and maybe give TDB a chance.
Considering the level of performance, a point is a very very good result because by rights we should have been buried. A couple of outstanding saves by Bachmann, some strong defending the long throws in the first half the highlights of the defensive side of the game. That we had a chance to win it from the spot is remarkable. Sarr should be off penalties now. Just give it to someone who’ll hit it properly. Work to do, I’m sure, but this team is so uneven and the replacements are so uninspiring. There’s a vortex in the centre of midfield. Two players who run a lot but are never in the right place. Manaj, bless him, looks like someone who came third in a Shefki Kuqi impersonation competition. Absolutely nothing about him whatsoever. He’s big and he’s not even strong. But, like last time, if they can be hard to beat they may be in the mix but, dear me, it’s hard to enjoy this sort of football.
Very lucky to get a point tonight, we were horrid Bachamnn did well and Sarr's goal was obviously superb (although he should never be allowed to take another penalty). Joao worked hard as well, even if things didnt come off for him Biggest concern tonight was that Sema and Cleverley were both a million miles off the pace and seriously worrying that Edwards didn't see a need to change either Jury well and truly still out
Baaaack to reaaaality. A good point all things considered but the manner in which we played was truly pathetic. West Brom totally dominated and another 2 or 3 goals for them wouldn’t have been flattering.
Well almost daylight (the game started in the light!) robbery had Sarr scored the penalty. Bachmann MOTM by miles which says it all. Over run in midfield and on the flanks. One can only hope we know it was a poor poor performance and we got lucky rather than gloss over it.
Good point considering how bad that was. Need to bring in some signings asap If we're serious about promotion
We made Jed Wallace look like Messi Decent enough result but the performance was shocking. Dennis was abysmal and the midfield completely overrun.
Positives? Dennis is going no where based on that performance. We literally stole a point. That's it.
Excellent point considering the poor performance. Could even have won it but for the missed penalty. 4 points from 2 games is pretty good. On to the next one.
Sarr had a little credit in the bank, so won’t blame him, but he cannot take a penalty. Great result considering how we were absolutely ****ed on. I’ll take it.
