Is he though? http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/455865/EXCLUSIVE-Bournemouth-boss-Eddie-Howe-is-ready-to-burst-pal-Rodgers-bubbly
Why on earth would any Watford fan be bitter? We've already been promoted and the likelihood is that we will win on Saturday and be crowned champions. Disliking Muff due to their systematic cheating and disgusting expenditure and not buying into the 'fairytale' narrative that they and the media are trying to spin does not equate to bitterness or jealousy. You wouldn't find a single Watford fan prepared to swap places with them.
From a purely selfish perspective Muff are the best team to go up with us, along with Brentford. Neither club will be capable of competing in the Premier League so it would give us two fewer relegation spots to worry about. Dean Court and Griffin Park are far too small to attract Premier League calibre players to the club and both would struggle to sign players, even more than Palace did under Holloway. The Vic was a little under twice the capacity of both of the aforementioned stadiums when we were promoted, and we know how hard we found it to land players. This time, we'll have the Pozzo network behind us, and that's the only reason I see us having a chance. Muff and Brentford have no such trump card. Don't see Brentford qualifying for the playoffs now, though. It seems unlikely that Derby will bottle it against Reading.
Love their football, but too much has happened for me to like them, & some of it has been against us. The Pugh dive last season, the crowding of the ref to get Angella sent off - namely Ritchie - Wilson this season, Arter this season, & last but definitely not least, Howe's comments post Sheffield Wednesday. Understand the odd thing in the heat of the moment but it's been constant, & everybody has noticed, it's no coincidence. Just my honest assessment.
i love the tweet from charltons official account 'bournemouth celebrating like they've completely ruled out a 19-0 defeat at the valley on saturday. we'll see...'
They fully deserve it but I still don't like them. Don't see why these have to be exclusive. No different to me wanting Chelsea not to win the premier this season. Travis has been telling off forumites all season for not liking Bournemouth. I find him bizarre.
"Bitter" is an ad hominem, and thus a logical fallacy at best. At worst it's flat out ridiculous. We're talking about a club that is a) below us in the league b) extremely likely to stay there come the end of the season and c) has a snowball's chance in hell of staying up in the Premier League. There is nothing to be bitter about.
Meh. The media circle jerking that's gone on this season and the favour they have received at the hands of the officials has made them hard to like. I'm sure they've got a lot of decent fans, but I just can't bring myself to like them. Would much rather anyone else in the playoffs went up rather than them. Oh, and for any Bournemouth that happen to read this: Should you have a promotion party that's even half as epic as ours was, and you get close enough to Matt Ritchie to talk to him, tell him that he looks like a little pleb with that hair cut. Over and out.
Eaxctly, I would understand the term bitter if we had just been edged out of the play-offs like Norwich or Boro, but the fact is we're top, I dislike Bournemouth purely on their attitude of play this season, their arrogance and general dislike from fans throughout our campaign - to people on this forum praising them I would just say as well of as Bournemouth's style of play throughout the season also take a look at Boro's, Derby's and Norwich's general comments on their sites towards us, in the last few weeks compared with Muff's - they would see the true meaning of Bitterness...then say 'congratulations Bournemouth'...
Bitterness against other teams is pointless. Diving to get a penalty happens in every league. Surrounding the ref happens in every league. If some teams get pens more than others good luck to 'em. Blame the refs if they get it wrong. Managers blaming refs and conspiracies so what. Nothing new. Mourinho's been doing it for years.
Trying to be optimistic and salvage something out of tonight, but how the hell does any team get 19 goals in a game though...
Good on Bournemouth. we may not like the way they have done it but they will be in the Premier League next season. Being a Bournemouth fan today must be very similar to being a Watford fan in May 1982, or a Wimbledon fan, or a Wigan fan. I hope they do well next season, but finish behind us, because, I don't think they can stay their for any longer than the best of the small teams. For the same reasons I would like Brentford to win the play-offs. I do not think we are a small club any more. I think we have every chance of becoming a middling Prem club.
Some of the comments sound bitter to me. Whether they are 'ad homo' something i'm not sure as my English is obviously inferior to yours. Still sounds bitter to me though That is as opposed to 'sweet'
You keep mentioning bitter...explain though you don't ever argue anything....you're English is fine...it's your explanation skills that maybe...explain why Bournemouth aren't lowdown arrogant, sanctimonious, dirty cheats....as seen by quite a large number of oppostion teams....
They play very fast, very intense football and they have a striker who chooses to buy fouls when he's through on goal. I dislike that about Callum Wilson because he has the quality to score legitimate goals rather than be cynical. I hold that against him, but not against the club. Most of their players seem like decent professionals who have got up on merit, with an excellent young manager. Because of that I have no issue with them at all. 'Lowdown Dirty Cheats' is a ridiculous description of them in my opinion.
Done that.. tried to look at the overall story of how they got where they are and not the short sighted view of what happened this season. Actually last part of the season.. when people started taking them seriously. NB If Bourenmouth where mid table no one would have battered an eyelid. As someone mentioned earlier their story is a similar one to ours from the late 70's/early 80's period.. and funnily enough the wider reaction in the football world was similar. Luckily not everyone was so.. ermmmm.. bitter (can i say that?) about us back then and appreciated the wider picture of what our club achieved.
Muff deserve to go up with us, best 2 teams in the division this year. Yes Wilson is a dirty diving cahunt and Howe is a whining whingebag.. don't like either of them at all... but they do deserve to go up.
Statistically , the number of red cards and penalties has been ridiculous, ANOTHER I would argue ridiculous red in the Bolton game, I still would argue (granted partially) that Boro (even Norwich) are a better, more disciplined side, better players, better supporters...our side I think is greatly superior to Bournemouth's and will show next season when we play them....
ad hominem: an attack on the person making the argument rather than the argument itself. It's a form of logical fallacy because the argument essentially boils down to "you're bitter, therefore you're wrong" without making any attempt to address the argument that has been put forward. It's nothing more than a cheap shot and indicative of **** poor debating skills. The Boro fans are having virtually the same discussion over on their boards. Here's the clincher one of their members post: Answer: because it's not about bitterness. As hard as it might be to believe, some people are legitimately disgusted by Bournemouth's diving and gamesmanship and don't care for serial cheats. Talk to the fans of virtually every single other club in the league this year and they have a story to tell about Bournemouth's cheating antics. It's no coincidence. No one said similar things about Leicester last year. No one said the same about Burnley. No one leveled such accusations at Hull, least of all us (we who had the best reason to be bitter). And no one is saying the same things about us now. So why Bournemouth? The answer is quite simple: they deserve the label, just like Chelsea deserve their "boring" label despite being top of the Prem.
Good grief .. Not sure why you're so negative - give them some credit. Divers they may be but others have said the same about us. They've played attractive attacking football and their turnaround from near liquidation to PL is a remarkable feat ..
