I was there that day in that shed of a stand. Delighted that my daughter got to come and experience beating the scum 4-0. Not so pleased at some of the songs she has learned.
You seem to forget HMS piss the league never sets sail until January. It’s all part of the plan - We will win one / lose one until then.
25 years ago we had some outlaws staying the weekend, I remember driving down the road trying to listen to the most awful stutteringwith hum radio broadcast ever as Dai Thomas's shirt was coming off!
Unbeliiieevable today, a completely different gravy to those scummy bustards. Joao Pedro was silky smooth today, as were the rest of the lads. This is the best match i’ve ever witnessed at the Vic, hands down. Atmosphere was another level too. Couldn’t hear a peep from the pikey, gypo, scum, zombie caravan dwellers corner.
Realised it's the first time I've seen us beat them at home. Been to every home game against the scum since 1995, 0 wins to show for it. Can add that to the Boothroyd league win at the Kennel now. Ace.
From the official Luton site, its deluded as the fans are! Bradley was the first player into referee Bobby Madley's notepad for a perfectly timed challenge on Joao Pedro, Madley gave another strange foul against Morris for a foul on Gosling, when it appeared that the offence had been committed by the home defender. Thank you to every Hatter who sang their hearts out at the stadium, as well as the thousands watching at home on iFollow Dare say I'll get a virus now on my pc!
Absolutely brilliant performance! Jaeo Pedro unplayable - the best individual performance I can remember seeing from Watford player in yonks. Luton utter garbage. On a less positive note a friend showed me some video of what looked like significant agro before the match by the red lion. I hope nobody was seriously hurt
Reports of a Watford fan being glassed and other incidents but that came from their rather antediluvian site.
Well that was bloody fantastic ! On the way to the match I felt depressed thinking we we’re going to get beaten in the pouring rain . But then the sun came out and we stuffed them ! That felt so good ! The effort was there for all to see from every player. Snapping into tackles , first to the ball ,even at 4-0 . Davis was my Motm . Thought he was superb and everything went through him. Even Kayambe was excellent . So pleased for Watford supporting Troost Ekong getting his goal as well. I did think Luton were pretty ***** . I was expecting more from them . That’s the kind of afternoon that makes being a football supporter worth while. And the vic was absolutely rocking . Best atmosphere for a long time, from minute one ! Hope Davis injury is not too serious and yes, why can’t we play like that every Match????
The good Groundsman getting that apocalypse of rain clear and ready to go. Kayembe, Gosling, Choudhry, Davis all well up for it. The formation worked. Almost a 4 4 1 1 Cathcart. Immense. Troost. No nicer man. Booed for 1 misplaced pass and scored 5 minutes later. The bad Luton number 5 and 4. Pair of cloggers spent the game getting schooled. Luton Troy Deeney but fatter number 9 Nathan Jones and his upset tummy excuse. Enjoy this one everyone. Its a nice feeling
Had/have a family birthday so couldn’t go to or watch most of the game so I can’t comment on the performance, but what a result. Very frustrating that the games we see as nailed on losses we do so well but we can’t then follow that up in the next game. Hopefully Bilic can get to the bottom of it and learn how to get each player to put maximum effort in for every game going forward.
Before their player does that stupid foul on Sema for the red, he lost out in a crunching tackle from Gaspar! Seen it all today!
I tried for 2 hours trying to find a stream to no avail, so glad we smashed the dogs !! If someone can please post some sort of highlights package I’d be forever grateful
The 4 nil away was special even though we were expecting to win. This one though. Feckerooneys I don't think anyone expected that. Squad out of form. Fan disconnect. Owner AWOL. No my friends. This is the one. This is the one they were in a better place and we played them off the sexy pitch of Vic Road. This is one for the ages.
Got 5 games now before the WC and we absolutely have to be winning 3 to have a chance of promotion. I just pray that we've actually finally seen the turning point in the season
My first game at Vicarage Road this season, since letting my season ticket lapse partly because of the soul-destroying manner of relegation last season but largely because my Dad died in the summer and I just didn't fancy facing the obligation to go week-in, week-out. I was the only one of my group of friends to make it today. The reasons for the absence ranged from broken leg to covid to a clash with their son's football to general, and understandable apathy. I must admit when it was thundering, lightning and hammering down with rain at 10.30 this morning I was in two minds whether to bother. The pre-match build-up, the emails from the club that seemed not just to anticipate crowd trouble but actively expect it, the weather, the performance against Millwall and the sense that Luton were on the up and we're on the down meant I almost didn't set foot out of the door. But boy, I am glad I did. The early goal helped, of course, but we completely outplayed them. Joao Pedro in that deep position was impossible for them to keep tabs on and that, in turn, meant we could get wide and get crosses into the box. But more than that, we saw the work-rate that must be the absolute bare minimum requirement. I hope that Bilic is able to impress on them that this cannot be turned off and on in the belief that their fancy touches and skills will always secure the points. They have to work for everything. The squad is still the equivalent of a string vest in a thunderstorm, the injuries continue to mount up, the behind-the-scenes issues and the deep unease with the way the club is being run do not evaporate because of one result or performance but that, those couple of hours when the rain eased, the sky brightened and the sun shone, is what football is all about. I have a very strong suspicion the couple next to me in the SEJ stand were Luton fans. They were in their 60s. They barely reacted when we scored. She clapped half-heartedly here and there. At half time they had faces like a couple of wet weekends in... well, a couple of wet weekends in Luton... He stuck it out until 5 minutes to go. She followed a couple of minutes later, perhaps to make it look less obvious. "Don't go, you might miss a fifth," I said as he shuffled out.
Utterly brilliant. For the first time in a long time it felt like my club, my team and part of something. Massive credit to Bili* for getting them up for it and forget that awful performance on Wednesday. He got everything right.
