QSF will NEVER say anything ungracious because most of what he says sounds like unintelligible mumbling This is a good thing I want mangers to show their personality to the players, the staff and on the training ground not people laughing at the likes of Mourinho or Klopp and journalists calling these managers ' box office'.
There is not much to add to all the comments made about yesterday. It was fantastic and bodes well for the rest of the season Having listened to Troy on talksport ( the wind up channel) and read some of the more insightful media comments of late it is clear that the tactics used by QSF are paying off. It is all about everyone being in the correct position and not so much about fitness and skill. Knowing your role in the side and how to press and cover is something we are showing and cannot be replicated by Woy or Jurgen which is why the sum of our parts is so much greater than a collection of individual talents That is why bar media clamour none of ours will get near the England squad and frankly as others have said why would we want that- our priority is to get to 40 points and then as high a finish as possible to get more £ and be able to strengthen by attracting players who will not want to go to any of the 6 or so near the foot of the table Having had to endure Man U and Arsenal fans in the boxes behind us in UGT it was a great feeling to hear absolutely nothing from those there yesterday
Seriously he wouldn't. He is keeping Behrami out on merit. I'd certainly take Behrami over Delph. Just because the lazy scouting department at Citeh paid over the odds because Woy picked him because in Woy's mind Villa are still a big club, doesn't make him anything more than average.
When I got home after the match yesterday my eldest Daughter came out of her room and announced that Watford FC was the top trending thing on twitter WORLDWIDE. We have officially been noticed.
It's eerily like the GT era all over again. Putting the fear of God into "bigger" clubs, making a mockery of relegation predictions with our position in the table, and a feared strike duo (Barnes and Blissett/Deeney and Ighalo) leading the line. Having said that, despite our strikers getting all the plaudits I think Capoue is the man who makes us tick. What a player.
I pray he doesn't pick up a card against Chelsea, because I cannot wait to see the sort of display he puts in against Spurs.
I do think there is a smidgen of a chance Capoue will be rested for Chelski with Behrami taking over. Wouldn't be the maddest thing ever TBH. QSF has already said he plans to do some rotation over the Christmas / NY period so...
I'd be over the moon with that, in reality the Spurs game should be the much harder game so it would make sense to rest Capoue and save him for that.
We are all sure Capoue would not want to miss the Spurs game, so surely he should be rested at Chelsea, we have plenty of cover especially now that Berahmi is back and Capoue might just hold back if he was selected at Chelsea, even if it was sub-consiously. So QSF, if you are going to rest players leave Capoue out at Chelsea, it would be a great Christmas present for him :xmaswink:
Chelsea have a massive game v Man U a few days after us. Crazy world but they will think that is a easier game than playing us. After today not playing our best players might give the other team a lift. Ighalo, Deeney and Capoue will scare the cr4p out of Chelsea after watching them today.
I wouldnt rest anyone for the Chelsea game apart from Ake which we have to Keep the momentum going - I wouldnt even rest Capoue. Im sure he wants to play against Tottenham but we would surely swap 3 points for a Capoue suspension ( and that might not even happen anyway)
Just when you think it can't get any better, it just keeps getting better. After the Stoke game I commented about the perfect line the back four hold. Liverpool were caught offside ten times yesterday. I haven't looked closely enough to know if its Britos or Cathcart leading this or whether QSF has them all so well drilled everyone knows what they are doing.
The average player position graphic from yesterday shows Cathcart as the furthest back of all the defenders. Presumably that would be the position to orchestrate it from?
I thought Liverpool did well. I think they ll be alright this season. Certainly showed they have enough to stay up
Only one team geggen pressing in that game. Our offside trap was superbly executed. This is down to Britos tactical savvy and Serie A breeding in the arts of defending.
Im sure when we signed Britos that a few people were on here who had watched seria A football telling us that Britos was atrocious?
In case anyone fancies annoying Liverpool fans a bit more: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1YFwdDsrqHlKQAcx6hMEtIo6th6orOWBJRQKy--CrEd4/viewform#start=openform
Pretty sure it was the opposite; someone who had watched him regularly predicted he'd be a huge hit when prevailing opinion was that he was going to be awful due to a perceived temperament issue.
Still smiling now, a day later. The atmosphere this year in the stadium is outstanding and getting better each game! Great team performance, all 9/10 (always room for improvement). You know it's different now for so many reasons but we had a throwback in time with ticket touts, badge sellers, scarf sellers, the lot yesterday! Long time since I've seen that outside the Vic!
I did feel quite sorry for him when he got a huge cheer coming out in front of the rookery for the second half. Funny though.
With so many games in so few days the strongest possible starting lineup isn't necessarily the best course of action. We have another game within 48 hours, if half the first team are knackered them we are farcked in the second game anyway, surely it's about picking the best team to win both games. It's not like Behrami and/or Gueds are rubbish are they? You could have Behrami and Gueds with a massive point to prove in the first game and a fully rested fired up Capoue for the second. I don't actually think he will be rested anyway, I think when QSF talked about rotation over Xmas he meant when he has to do it, it will be a real shame if he has to do it in the Spurs game because Costa has wound Capoue up and he's got a yellow.
