If Sarr has a slight knock and doesn’t play, surely that means he won’t go on international duty so will have two weeks off, I think I’d prefer that to him playing and going on international.

In fairness its my first comment on the subject.? I just think he's played every game, he's been kicked up in the air 8 times every game, and he just looks a bit jaded in the last 2 games. He must feel battered right now. With Zinc now looking so good it just makes sense to try him on the RW, especially when it's likely that his final deliveries will be at least as good as we've seen from Sarr. So play Zinc RW, Gosling RM, and bring on Sarr second half....
I'm not massively concerned about Sarr here but I see Zinc as a potential season maker for us, and I really want to see him in his best position to see what happens....

I vaguely remember a game at St Andrews in the 80's that was delayed due to a bomb scare, pretty sure it was an FA cup game. I don't think it was the 84 quarter final as I didn't go to that, can anyone remember this or is my booze addled brain playing tricks on me.

Leventhal tweeted suggesting that if he is out of the Birmingham game, he won’t go away with Senegal. I share your preference (provided we secure 3 points on Saturday even if he is absent, of course)

Zinckernagel has quickly become one of our best players, I have no concerns about the right wing area if Sarr is out, but who would take Zinck's central position? Push Hughes up and play Chalobah and Gozzers/Sanchez? Put JP into a midfield (or #10) role and Perica or (God help us) Gray up front?

No it was a league game in about ‘85. Birmingham were on the way to relegation so there weren’t many there. All the First Division grounds received a hoax bomb scare that day (of course all games kicked off at 3pm back then) but St Andrews was the only one to be evacuated. This was after the game kicked off. We all stood outside while the ground was searched then went back in to see Watford win. I think Luther scored the winner.

I will disagree through the medium of song:

"Sarr can play every game while he's alive, and sleep when he's dead"

    (or transferred, obviously)

The draw for the next round of the FA Cup was made during that bomb scare game, either whilst we were outside or once we’d gone back in. It was all very odd with a police inspector walking onto the pitch mid-game and picking the ball up.

I think so, home games on Sky should count towards it.

If Sarr is injured I'd simply mo e Zinckernagel over and bring in Gosling. No need to disrupt a winning team to much.
Hopefully Sarr just has a little knock so he doesn't have to go away on international duty.

Agree with the others that we might be better off resting Sarr for this one so he also stays in the UK over the international break and then comes back in for the run in

If we are serious about autos we should be able to win this game at home without him anyway. Either:

    1) Push Zinc out wide into his preferred position and backfill the middle with Gosling or Sanchez
    2) Straight swap out wide for Success or even Hungbo
    3) JP playing wide and Gray/Perica coming into the centre

No excuses, we have plenty of depth and options

Sanchez has proved to be a useful substitute when we are ahead and need a calm influence in the middle. He does the simple things well and is obviously an able footballer.

But I'm not sure about him starting. Brum looked most rattled by Reading when they upped the pace and moved the ball quickly.

Maybe Sanchez can do that too but, if he plays the way he played when he came on when we were ahead then I don't think it will be what we need.

Apologies, wasn't aimed directly at you, just seen it mentioned a few times. For me now is not the time for resting players. We have 9 games left and have got ourselves in to a great performance. The thing is with Sarr is he has an ability to make things happen that nobody else can. I would rather he started and hopefully be in a position to rest him later but we do have a break after this and as I said I wouldn't be shocked if he didn't go and join up with Senegal.
If we are to go up we must win Saturday and therefore must play our best team

Cheers Willis. I remember the waiting around outside but couldn’t quite remember when it was. I was only 6 or 7 at the time so memories get a tad hazy. My mums family are all blue noses so games against blues are always fun.

Our first away win that season if I remember correctly.

We were leading at the time. I was standing outside on the waste land hoping we would get back in and complete the win.

Would that make it more likely that we risk Sarr I wonder? If both of them are out, I'd like to see Kiko pushed up and Ngakia at RB, I don't know if they've started a game on the right together, but in isolation they're both fantastic players

  33. Hogg-DEENEY!!!

Best case scenario is we go 3+ goals to the good by around half time, and can then pull Sarr off with an 'injury' which will see him ruled out of international duty

A bit off topic but did anyone else watch the U21's last night reach the fourth round of the Cup by beating Lincoln 3-2? Some good players in that squad, def some future stars.
