Hahaha, that's our season then, petering out with nought but a faint whimper. A single goal draw, at home, against the worst team in the division managed. Well done lads; well bloody done.

I was on a nightmare elongated journey down south and didn't get in to watch until half time, so I didn't even get to enjoy the apparently more lively first half or the goal. Oh well; it didn't count for anything in the end, anyway.

Too slow and trying to pass the ball in.

No quick play or attempting to get shots at goal.

    Even Pedro was shocking .

Joao Pedro was awful today and Bachmann costs us more points with his absolute refusal to ever come off his line and claim a ball.

Season over. The only thing left to play for is Luton game. If we did manage to do the double over them I’d take that tbh - but we will lose that one

    Bachmann cost us 3 points.

Solid first half, not great second, so poor considering we could have gained ground.

Better identity in play, we looked knackered after 70 mins

Millwall lost. Norwich, Sunderland and Luton drew. A win would have brought us with 3 points of the playoffs.

And we sh1t the bed when given the chance to make up a bit of ground at home to the team bottom of the table.

Lol, same old. Lack of cutting edge, lack of intensity, lack of fitness.

JP wasteful, he should score that first half chance, held on to the ball too long at times, and then his final ball too often sloppy (assist aside). He's going to have to get much more clinical if he's to fulfil the hype and earn the kind of fee and transfer many around the club would hope for.

Louza has been poor since his return, he seems almost as off the pace at the moment as when he first arrived but was up against PL opposition. His set-pieces have been crap as well - put Sema back on corners.

Hoedt has been a bit disappointing as well recently after a promising start, he sometimes shows glimpses of his class on the ball, but not enough, and seems prone to lapses in concentration defensively. He reacted too slowly for their goal.

Kone showed some signs of promise again at least.

Wilder took too long to shift away from the back 3 considering we had to win and Wigan were sitting deep.

We've assembled a squad of Louzas really.

Not the failure to turn a huge possession-advantage into goals because the attacking play is too ponderous and intricate, then?

Trouble is, against a rubbish, defensive, time wasting team it's hard to break them down, and as we all know we don't have the sort of attack that can break thru that type of team... (not for past few years).
You watch... Once we're automatically out of play offs we'll win all the remaining games...

Bachman is a very poor keeper at this level, let alone for a team supposedly chasing promotion.

I had, the slightest hope we could go on a run and make the top six. Then I remembered I support Watford. We dominated that openning 45 and only had one goal to show for it. That was always going to bite us in the rear and it did. Their goal came to idiots at the back clowning around like they were kid's entertainers. I really thought, after Birmingham we may of turned a corner with Wilder, and after 45 mins today, I still had that belief. Then we revert back to type. That second half was abysmal. Well done Wigan, they just about did enough for a point and we could easily of lost that.

I am done kidding myself now. Season's over, but let's be honest it's been over since Millwall really on performances. When their goal went in, I stood up and punched the wall pretty hard in frustration, something I very rarely do. Watford will be Watford I guess. I said after we beat Birmingham I wasn't too happy that we'd won. Perhaps it's that sinking feeling of acceptance. Perhaps I have given this team the benefit of the doubt for so long this season that they can prove me wrong and come good again.
Perhaps I have been an idiot in thinking they could change.

This season cannot end fast enough, now we have two weeks to suffer through before we get played off the park at the Dog Kennel as Edwards gives a two-finger salute to the away end.

You what? The header was from near the edge of the box.

Another one - did I miss something? The header was a pretty remarkable one right in the top corner.

Still, first half we dominated, there were patterns and an attacking plan again. Far better than anything in the latter half of Billic’s reign but if you can’t beat these at home, who genuinely looked like a proper League One side then what chance do we have of winning three play-off games?

That second half was a complete disgrace. Sloppy and tentative passing, constantly checking back inside or looking for the safe option. Wigan brought on an attacker for a defender at half time and we folded completely. Even when the crowd somehow roused itself for the last 10 minutes and urged the team forward they looked completely out of ideas and devoid of any leadership. Can't remember the last time the players were openly booed while doing the full-time clapping lap towards the Rookery - though possibly because I'm usually away from there when we're this bad.

Oh and Pedro had the worst game I think I've ever seen from him. That bad I'd pick him out from the pack. No idea where his head was today but it wasn't in the game.

Still, we know which league we'll be in next year now.

Not in this instance, Wigan offered minimal, McLean's header should be bread and butter for any respectable Championship goalie. Poor positioning.

I have to disagree with that - it was an excellent header right in the top corner which would have forced any keeper in to being at full stretch to reach.

Plus the corner they had immediately preceding it was avoidable, Hoedt with a Hollywood tackle that looked lovely but really should have put the ball out for throw instead.

The 1st half was an acceptable if slightly lacklustre affair. We deserved the lead. 2nd half we were nowhere on it and unlike Brum we got punished this time. Also going to say Bachmann actually couldn't have done a whole lot with the header either; the defence lost track of the player.

Koné was really bright and only player who can say they turned up all game. Wilder subs were generally off; Pedro should have been subbed for Asprilla and Araujo should have been on instead of Assombalonga.

I can generally see what Wilder is trying to do with the squad but fitness is what's killing us and that's been the story of our season. No manager will be able to correct that now. I'm going to say give Wilder a longer contract and build the squad accordingly.

I wasn't there, so will not challenge you, although other folk seem to think it was a very good header.
But, these goals will happen. My point is that Watford flatter to deceive, going forward. They have done all season and the commentary made it perfectly plain that this happened again. They over-elaborate their attacks and fail to produce any satisfactory end-product. It is all too slow.
They should have scored several goals, so the odd one going in the other end doesn't matter.

    Wait, I missed today.

Am I to believe that blasted Edwards' failure to make our superstar squad purr is STILL having an effect?

He's single handedly ruined our club. Just have to hope that the next manager can be the one to finally get this amazing squad to fulfill its destiny.

No surprise at all. Mental midgets. Surely the coach would have asked them to move the ball forward with pace, get more crosses in and shots on goal. No it's the same negative mental attitude and play it safe.

As said before the squad needs gutting in the summer. Ubenga and the new manager their plan and a team psychologist too.
