How many will they score - all of them before the season is over we are going to get absolutely thrashed , will it be Saturday don’t know , but it’s coming don’t think this game means much in the wider scheme of things - which is just as well
I guess he is the media officer I think . Usually there is a guy called Tim who does a lot of the tannoy work .
I reckon we should get Deeney to do the stadium announcer work when he retires. He always had plenty to say.
The only hard thing to predict is how many spuds will score. Hopefully with a few training sessions in it won’t be as bad as the wet spam game. If I had a ticket for this game I’d sell it to a Korean, then go past the bookies put a few quid of it on a son hat trick then get wasted in the pub. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Does that Liverpool game count as an absolute thrashing? The scoreline maybe didn't suggest it, but my God it was like watching one of the big international teams against San Marino...
Against Spurs? I know watching Watford can bring out the pessimist in all of us, but this is Spurs and they're not scoring 11.
Who are we starting at right back then? Kiko and Rose are out, seems unlikely Troost and Ngakia will be back, so we are left with 3 fit defenders. I don't particularly want to see Kucka playing there again, but there aren't many alternatives.
I don’t know who writes the content for the official WFC site, but there is an article on there now about five players who played for both Watford and Spurs. Bizarrely, it includes Sebastien Bassong (who was only on loan to us for a short period), as if they couldn’t think of anyone else, but omits the wonderful Alan Nielsen who was excellent for both clubs.
Certainly a possibility. Has a lot of the right attributes. Would prefer him in midfield though instead of Tufan.
I don’t want Kucka anywhere near the pitch, let alone RB. God knows who you put there though. Move Cathcart out there - but no CB to come in. Go with 3 CB’s and it’s Masina as the third - but then we have no real wing-back options on either side. Bring Cleverley in and put Sissoko at RB - but then we lose his characteristics in midfield. I hate myself for saying this - but could we move Cathcart to RB, tuck Masina in as CB and then play Morris at LB?! I feel sick.
Surely Kucka at RB is not the end of the world. He's committed and will clatter their wingers out the game. I'm calling it now, after the game there will be genuine shouts for him to stay RB for the whole season. And Sissoko with a hat trick.
Kabs has been a perpetual waste of time. On the pitch he's average at best, and he's always injured. I honestly can't remember a time I've absolutely dreaded a match. There's absolutely no way we walk away conceding fewer than 4
I think Cleverley would be the most disciplined option to play RB. We're going to get embarrassed. Hopefully new signings are imminent.
Seriously? Man City in the relegation season, even Liverpool in the relegation season? I dreaded the Cup Final more, tbh.
We may have been on a stinking run of form going into the Cup final, but we gave the home game against City that season a right good go, and the away game was respectable, iirc we rested a load of players before the Cup quarter-final, we went into half-time at 0-0, and they only scored their first goal from an offside
The only saving grace might be that Sierralta is back and hopefully a bit more up to speed after a rather chaotic 2 months
I write off games against City/Liverpool regardless of our form. Tomorrow we will be absolutely battered by Spurs in predictably meek fashion
Liverpool away was Pearson's first game wasn't it? Had almost given up by that stage, had a kind of 'what the heck, we'll give it a bash' kind of feel to it. The home game was Sarr's first start back from his injury, the first time in a while that we had him and Deulofeu starting together, so I was quietly confident which I think manifested itself in the crowd that day, but sadly it was the last time they'd ever play together (until Sarr is loaned to Udinese this January of course!)
Same with their video content. They made a montage of our best goals scored by Scottish players and somehow managed to leave out Allan Smart's goal at Wembley as well as his goal against Chelsea!
