I haven’t posted here for ages, because I was so disillusioned when Xisco got the sack. We can all argue the rights or wrongs about that decision, but what’s becoming more and more clear is his replacement has been an unmitigated disaster. He seems to get a free pass from many supporters, who blame our woes on everything else bar him. Hopefully tonight will wake everybody up to the fact he’s way past his sell-by date and was a nonsensical appointment, based primarily it seems on a friendship with our owners. I would rank him as our worst appointment made by the Pozzos, and that’s saying something. We won as many points in a handful of games under Xisco this season (7) as his successor has managed and there seemed a good spirit around the club, but of course he didn't have enough experience or fancy data to keep most people happy. But what use is experience if it produces the sort of shambles we witnessed tonight? I won’t get my love of our club back until he is sent to dilly dang somewhere else, hopefully as far away from here as possible. Our club is dying in front of us all, and it’s so very very sad.
Not to worry. The players will still end up getting paid. Duxbury will still end up collecting his bonus and the silent Harvard educated owner will still be playing his own brand of Football manager while shuttling the money over to Udine. We are most definitely the English Granada. They are now flourishing after the vampire unstuck his fangs from their Spanish neck and sank them into our Herts one.
I'm not finished, probably won't be all night. Some of the players decisions, Sissoko clearly offside, decides to get in the way of Kucka who's steaming in to header it. Why? Dennis dangling a leg out on a yellow. Why? Yes it's soft but just use your brain.
As a family friendly club, I hope they realise that they have made my child cry tonight and once again not for the first time. Someone else said the same in the shout box and I’m sure there are many more disappointed kids out there. An apology for tonight’s game is a minimum, no blinkered ‘we showed positives’ rubbish please, a straight up acknowledgement that what went down was absolute unadulterated tripe that no sap should have paid for under the pretext of being a sporting spectacle. Oh and boooooooooooooooooooooooo
We'll have a decent squad in the champo next season, a manageable wage bill and a big cash injection from sales. It could be a lot worse.
The gestures too, the statement from Duxbury after the last relegation, the statement from Sissoko this week. I'm sick of ******* gestures, ******* turn up on the pitch, it's boring.
Conceding two goals to Josh Sargent, probably the worst regular attacker in the league - it doesn't get any worse than that. Claudio seemed to make us more conservative in our play, yet it seems to have done little to stop us conceding while stifling our attack. On that note, most of the criticism has rightly been our defence, but that's also been detracting from the fact that we've failed to score more than 1 goal in 8 games now. Dennis was basically carrying this team's attack, and with him now out of form it's shown up how largely ineffective and sluggish the rest of our attackers are and how much we really miss Sarr. JP scored a good goal vs Newcastle, but has done little otherwise lately (I'm not blaming him too much though as I didn't think he should be starting much for us yet at this level anyway). King also just doesn't look a threat and seems generally exhausted. Cucho does nothing when he's started. Meanwhile none of our central midfielders could hit a barn door. I thought staying up this season would be a struggle and unlikely, whoever the manager was - we'd need all our first choice players to be available the whole season as our backups haven't been up to it. Claudio surely can't survive this, but as I said after Munoz was sacked it'll be an uphill battle for any manager to keep us up. It'll take Foster, Dennis, Sarr and the rest to all be fit and firing for the majority of the rest of the season, and a subsequent incredible run of form, to have a hope now.
They were laughably pisspoor. Yet we contrived to let them win 3-0. 3 goals that were tight on VAR all went the wrong way. Bachman is abysmal. Kamara is ok as wing back but hes winning nothing in the air, oh and neither is Kiko. Samir looks lost or comfortable, you decide. Kabasele... Pedro needs to score more goals still, we should have just let Dennis go to AFCON, he obviously wanted to be there. Ranieri has lost the plot, King cant score either, Sarr won't play for us again, kucka is past it, Sissoko is ok. So Norwich were the worst side I've seen in this league ever, but we cant defend or attack.
We are an absolute laughing stock. Honestly, image losing 3-0 at home to Norwich hahaha. ******* despicable.
I am lost for words. I have sat few a lot of bad games in my time. Here are a few you may remember. Watford 0 Yoevil 3 Wimbledon 5 Watford 0 Crewe 2 Watford 0 Watford 0 Crewe 1 Fulham 5 Watford 0 Watford 1 Crystal Palace 5 Hull 4 Watford 1 Sheff Wed 2 Watford 1 Portsmouth 3 Watford 0 I can probably add a lot more to that list, but tonight really took the biscuit. I was indisposed for the whole of the first half and only began watching just after they scored the first one - so I cannot comment on the first half although from what people said it was still pretty bad but we played alright towards the end. From what I did see, I was shocked. Tonight was all about us getting three points, tonight was all about us moving clear, tonight was all about us showing our relegation rivals the hard fought point at Newcastle was a turning point. Tonight was about all those things, to the fans' and showing the Great Graham Taylor we will fight for the club and attempt to preserve our status. Well, I am not even sure the players' got the memo. That second half was - and that is a big statement -the worst I have ever seen us play. Lackluster, no passion, no commitment, no heart, no soul. Dennis has been a total passenger since the AFCON dispute and needs to grow up and stop throwing his toys out the pram. I think CR70 knows he is done - Ken Sema and Kucka as SH subs... say's it all. He could of gone the whole hog and thrown Tufan on for a laugh. Bachmann - sorry but he is done at this club. That third goal was David James' level of idiocy and that takes some doing. Foster would of certainly saved the third goal - but the other two came from total inept plays from our back line again. Cucho and Pedro - best players on the pitch and at least tried. King can go as well... nothing again from him. It's OK to hold the ball up, but he does nothing. I feel so sorry for the fans' who sat through that rubbish, because the players' didn't give a flying fig about tonight - it was all over their body language. Relegated or not, just a paycheque to them end of the week. It hurts the fans' so much more deeply when we witness displays like that - but do they actually care? I doubt it. "We Go Again" attitude. I love Uncle Claudio for at least attempting to save us. We are gone now for sure - because that showed the level of performance the players' will get to in games that matter. He will be gone by Monday - I can see it, we all can. He is a gentleman of the sport and has had some highs, but please Claudio, jump ship before this club tarnishes your rep any further. Sick. Do not even want to watch the other scorelines now from tomorrow. Whatever happens from this point, we surely cannot sink any lower. Watford FC has been shamed by a display the great GT would never of accepted. I don't have one word to say about Norwich - I couldn't care less about them right now. We are without a doubt the worst club in this division and have been treading water all season, tonight the plug was finally pulled, and the players' sank to the bottom like a rock.
Tonight has definitely been one of my worst moments supporting Watford, if not the worst. To do that on a night dedicated to GT has made me angry and actually pretty sad at the same time. At half time I was annoyed but as the second half went on and the goals went in I realised that I didn't actually care. I used to be crazy about Watford and a bad result would put me in a bad mood, but there's very little to like about this club now and it just doesn't seem to bother me as much anymore.
Kucka for Femenia at right back? Why? Where was the midfield why couldn't they collect the ball at all? Why weren't Kamara and Femenia getting up their with their wingers. Why was Dennis hugging the touchline and crossing to King alone? Why were we constantly hoofing it up to Cleverly to win in the air? Why are we playing it short to Kabasele and Samir, neither who really wanted it and then had no plan with it anyway? Why does it take 10 passes between the back four to progress the football up the pitch? Why does Ken Sema keep getting on the pitch despite offering nothing? Why were the centre backs in the box yet Bachman was angry at them for it deciding to go long like there was no instructions on how to play? Is Sierrellta that bad that he can't get ahead of Kabasele? It was just utterly woeful yet again, with so many questions tactically. I'm just fuming.
Kucka is 5huckin9 5hyte, but I'd like to think that somehow he only scored that own goal because he was so pi55ed off at being denied sticking the ball in the back of the net at the other end. It's not true, but I'd like to think it was.
THE ONLY TEAM IN ENGLAND WITHOUT A CLEAN SHEET. ONE OF NINETY-TWO!!!!!! TEAMS. DO YOU UNDERSTAND THE LEVELS OF ABSOLUTE **** YOU HAVE TO BE FOR THAT TO BE THE CASE.
I haven't put a penny into this rancid club over the last 2 years and I shan't be doing so for a long time to come. I've upset my 11 year old tonight by telling him I won't be taking him to the Vic this season. I'll be taking him down to Fratton Park.
Rebuild haha. The guy will be dead before then. He's lost 17 of his last 21 Premier League games, if this was any other team we'd be laughing at them, he's ******* ****, let it go.
Absolutely pathetic, both Ranieri and pretty much every player on the pitch. As soon as they scored it was obvious how it would play out. No one wanted the ball (besides maybe JP and Kayembe), we started making petty little fouls and completely ran out of ideas.
But it's a new team. We had the rancid team of Pereyra, Doucoure, Gray and Capoue etc. But we replaced them and we have exactly the same problems, only worse. It's a culture at the club. We have a revolving door coach policy, we've consumed hundreds of players, we've even changed our DoF. The only constant cancer that lingers is the Pozzos and their spokes piece, Duckbrie. They've turned our club into a soulless, loathsome pile of piss. To have the captain (who to be fair was alone in actually giving some sort of performance today) try and guilt us into coming today, to pay tribute to our beloved former manager, the man who built the club, and then to produce THAT. That is the final straw for me. This club should be ashamed of itself. From top to bottom. The ****** recruitment, the awful culture, the dodgy dealing, the crappy electrics, the disposable coaches, the cynical, hypocritical media activities - just **** it all. **** them all to hell. I'm done with Watford. 44 years and this is the final straw that convinces me that it's not worth my time and that it's cruel for me to pass this onto my daughters. Why should they be raised as Watford fans? It's just not fair on them to inherit that toxic cancer. I hope relegation bankrupts Gino and if it takes the club down too, then so be it.
Owner, manager & players should hang their heads in shame, that was an absolutely disgusting defeat. No one can save that dross of a team. I really appreciated the attacking mentality we had in the first half, there was some cracking passing between the centre backs, pinpoint and precise. I am also not sure how the fans around me are clapping the players at the end after THAT performance, surely that must be some kind of joke! King Ken coming on at 3-0 down just put the cherry on the top, along with Kucka. Abysmal, shocking, *****, disgraceful, cowardly, pathetic - I’m sure there are other words I can think of but my mind has gone blank. What a way to start the weekend.
I like Ranieri. He's not a fool but if the vibe is the dressing room is lost then he needs to go for everyone's sake. It feels we go from one game to the next to win, but then what? What's our longer term goal here? Are we trying to improve our homegrown situation? Are we a true selling club, looking to manage our finances and build up stability? What do we want to do in 3 years time? Ignoring results? We were lucky we could financially stabilise by getting promoted and sort the £70m debt out and restructure. But is that it? Rely on gambling staying in the PL because then what? We nearly paid a high price for not planning for that and have a second chance. Where do we go from here?
