  1. I don't think he will leave

I know Bruce denied any interest in Deeney but if they sell Long to Southampton, as is being reported tonight, for a crazy £12 million, they'll have some silly money to throw at a late replacement...

From the general tenor of the shoutbox comments, Ighalo sounded a bit like Beleck whilst Fessi sounded none too clever, so maybe keeping Deeney has become more vital to our chances. Maybe the much-vaunted 'replacements' aren't so 'ready-made'

Yeah - FoxesTalk forum seem to think they will have a bid accepted tomorrow.

Bit harsh to judge Ighalo on one game, but Leicester might offer us Wood as part of the deal. I guess he is reasonably proven at this level.

But it was Stevenage....and most comments suggest his touch and awareness were both poor.

Complete opposite to the match against Udinese then. His touch and awareness looked fantastic.

Fair enough, but he's more likely to be up against Stevenage-style pressure than what he faced in a friendly against a side playing a completely different type of football.
This is not an attack on Ighalo, more a warning not to be too sanguine about how easily he will become an automatic replacement for Deeney.

If we want promotion we need our best players simple as that sell Troy that task gets a lot lot harder regardless of which replacements we have unless of course Messi or Ronaldo fancy a new challenge. Deeney is that important to us.

Damn I didn't realise this game was streamed on shoutbox! .... but Igahlo sounded fine on 3CR

Whilst I'd hate to see him in a Leicester shirt, 10m is a great deal of money to turn down and he would surely double his wages at least. Sometimes you just have to move on.

Still would much prefer a replacement who knows the division as ighalo would be a massive gamble as first choice, Fessi is a better sub and renegie isn't mobile enough.

    Danny graham please

Did you listen to same game as me , seemed fairly ineffective to me against the harrying pressure from stevenage. didnt score , fluffed one chance ,no assists how is that a replacement for an in form Deeney near his peak ! Nothing against Igloo it will take time for him to adjust ,that adjustment time could cost us dear.

Christ guys its very very simple , if Deeney wants to leave then fine . if he is happy where he is we shouldnt sell , not if we want promotion , we need our best players 10m now or 140m later ! that is the choice , if Pozzi sell him and he is happy to stay then they are lying about what they want for the club. IF (big huge IF ) then fair enough we sell for top whack , imo that hasnt been reached yet in todays over inflated market , £5.5m for Britt 11m McCormack , 12m long etc etc. buy and demand market is fluid , over 2 weeks of window to go , desperate prem clubs will spend big near end of window . if Festa bid £10m tomorrow then wise move is to reject it (as long as Troy is happy to stay).

Unless Troy is causing issues I would not sell for less than £12m + a big list of add ons.

See that's the difference between England and Italy transfers and I'm sure the Pozzo's have realised this.

Moves are so frequent in Italy that for the most part the chairmen want to keep all the others onside to ease any future negotiations. Here in England it's all about ****ing everyone else over by unsettling players and forcing teams to sell at low prices.

If he doesn't go this window they have to get him to sign a contract extension.

Re Ighalo; He didn't look so confident tonight. At one point, awaiting a free kick, he seemed to be half sticking up his hand to call for the ball in the same way I used to when I wanted people to see my willingness, whilst hoping the kick taker wouldn't see me!

He did a few more deft things towards the end of his stint, but his body language was not convincing on the whole.

Can only make a superficial judgement based on this game where he was less than spectacular, and the Udinese game where he looked very good. I fancy we will see better from him, but it is only instinct that makes me feel that.

    U remembered wrong!

The Chris Wood transfer is the only thing holding this up. Sorry to break it to you but its very highly likely Deeney will be a Leicester player before the window ends. We are linked to numerous targets but if Deeney is Pearson's number 1 striker target we will get him, its just when. It was the same for Ulloa. The contract packages and set-up we can offer simply blows yours out the water. As for the transfer fee, our offer and payment terms will be simply too good to turn down. We are cash rich so the set-up of our deals can reflect this. Apologies if i sound arrogant but they're just the facts lads. Sorry

But then... You are Leicester and we aren't and that seems a big tick in the staying at Watford box.

Also, if your offer and payment terms will simply be too good for little old us to turn down, because of how super super cash rich you are, why has it taken you several weeks to offer us what we 'want'? Bunch of frauds.

Ha ha! Wood! Yes, very good.

Go and tell Steptoe and Asterix that they know the terms and if you're so "rich" then you'll have no problem meeting them.

James, Vardy, 6m + Add Ons.

That's the price and we're not budging.

You do realise it's not just about what you can offer money wise to the club and Deeney? Yeah you could make a ridiculous offer, do the pozzos have to accept, no! You could offer Deeney more money, he still might not want to leave Watford/ play for leicester! If he was so desperate to leave, why when you made your previous offers has he not put in a transfer request?

I thought the Leicester bids were over.. However with Gino and Nani sat watching Deeney on Saturday and his partnership with Vyrda instantly rebonded must be thinking that there is so much more value in keeping him at Watford for the push.
Unfortunately Leicester fans dont know who they are dealing with when it comes to the Pozzo Family. It will be unlikely that a sale will go through unless Deeney wanted it. They know how much value it would be to sell a proven premiership goal scorer over a championship one.

Right, so all you've said here is Leicester have more money than us. Funny how their fans have hated Troy since the playoff game and now they're desperate for him. I would be too if I were relying on Ulloa, Nugent and Vardy to score goals! Lets hope they have some **** like Albert here doing the negotiations (you're trying to sound like you know what you're talking about but it's quite clear that you don't).

I think the pertinent FACT here is that our owners think Troy is more valuable to the side as a whole than any offer you could make. None of your other ****ty offers was too good to turn down now, were they?

  28. Its this Billy big b*ll*x that make people hate clubs like Lesta and Weeds. You don't have anything to be arrogant about, there is a very long list of clubs that have more money than you, that have more fans than you, and that have won more stuff than you. If you ever get to be as successful as a Utd or a Chelsea then you can throw it around, until then wind your neck in.

If things are as you say they are, why have you not yet got Deeney despite several bids? Maybe you don't have as much disposable cash as you thought?

An arrogant Leicester fan? I won't have it. You make it sound like we're dealing with Chelsea or Man City. If Pearson wants Deeney he'll get him, I haven't laughed so much in a long time. We have another Leicester fan on here who I think is pretty well thought of but you my friend are basically a bell end

I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing the transfer window would shut as soon as the first ball of the new season is kicked.

Having endured a summer of speculation about Deeney, we've started the season with him in the side and scoring. We've all been treated to what our strongest side looks like and can play like and it's exciting. It's whet the appetite for more. To lose him now would be a huge blow to our chances of going up, and a huge blow to our morale too. It would be terrible to have only had the Vydra-Deeney partnership for ONE match. Better he'd have left us last week :(

Of the present personel, I believe Ranegie is capable of getting goals and could play with Vydra, whereas Ighalo is inexperienced in England and came with a non too-impressive scoring career ratio. That's not to say he can't develop, but it's a big ask for the short-term.

The only consolation of Deeney going before the weekend would be it gives us 2 weeks to replace him if the powers that be felt that was the way forward. The ultimate nightmare would be him going at 10.59pm on 1st September, or whenever the window shuts.

Pearson going after Deeney for £10m plus having signed the very similar Ulloa and already having Nugent & Vardy, who got them promoted last season, & are decent options, is plainly poor business. One of Ulloa or Deeney will have to sit on the bench, because if they play them together it won't work, at all. Utterly bizarre.

Disagree better he went last week, having played well and scored a good goal against Bolton would have pushed or confirmed that he is worth the money that we want, therefore if his does leave we will get top dollar. If we can't have him all season next best would be lots of goals between now and January with a further inflated price then
