Presume posters appreciate that we can’t really compete with a Leeds Leicester or Soton for signings ?

You could add Harry Amass, Adrian Blake, Juergen Elitim and Adian Manning to the list too. Even though they were academy, we got money for most of them. If Rajovic signs, we'll have 10 non-homegrown and 10-homegrown players, with 7 U21's, but that's a stretch as I'm including Grieves, Adu-Poku, Adeyemo and Roberts in that U21 list. So really it's only 3. In total we have just 23 viable players in the entire squad. There's no getting away from it, we need a lot more to come in. Currently: 2 x keepers. 1 more needed 2 x left backs 2 x right backs 4 x CB's (although one is being used as a DMF). 1 more needed 1 x DMF (Livermore) so 1 more needed 4 x central midfielders 2 x left wing 1 x right wing. 1 more needed 3 x forwards I've not placed Chakvetadze or Asprilla in a pigeon hole yet as I feel they're probably both number 10's, but could play on the flanks. For me, the minimum on top of Rajovic is a backup keeper, a DMF and CB. We have to do this, then in a ideal world another right winger, striker and central midfielder (enforcer type). When you have such a small squad you need a healthy mix of versatile players, in order to cover many positions. We don't really have this. This is something I don't think the recruitment team have given a lot of though to.
A CB has to come in. We cannot go into full season with just 4, when we're using 3 in every starting XI. Backup being just Pollock then no one else. A strong DMF or a CB has to come in. We're already down to just 1 fit full back, so we can see the issues we're facing just 3 games into a season.
Kamara on loan would be amusing ? Haha could we really do that to him, imagine his little face....and then play him at RB !
Wouldn't surprise me at all if they consider Livermore as able to cover as a fifth centre back (or possibly even fourth ahead of Pollock).
Brandon Williams seems to be moving to Ipswich on loan with option to buy. Young, English, and can cover both full-back positions. He's mostly played left-back, despite being more right-footed, and I always thought he'd have more chance of kicking on if he switched to focusing more on playing right-back. I wonder if that's where Ipswich will more use him as well given they've already got Leif Davis at LB. He would have been handy here in our current circumstances, though with Kieran McKenna at Ipswich we probably wouldn't have had much chance of getting him instead.
I agree, but then reading through it again half of them should of been sold/listed when we got relegated in the 19/20 season. It's nice to have finally cleared a lot of them out and slashed the wage bill, but the problem is now we are light on players in positions like CB. Had we been more careful about doing this, say get rid of three then bring in two from any profit we made, we would be in a much better position squad wise than we are right now. But, this is how Gino wants to run things, and I very much doubt he is going to change tact going forward.
Yes I'd heard similar, but McKenna will have obviously worked with him a lot before and clearly thinks he's not a completely lost cause.
From what I’ve heard of him, he certainly wouldn’t be considered based on the focus around hard work and team spirit.
Thats us done until the loan windows up in September now I imagine. Still got one loan spot left now havnt we?
There hasn't been a separate loan window outside of the standard transfer window for a few years now.
Likely unrelated to us, but the Saudi window closes a week after the European window. If some Saudi clubs make some last minute moves for players it could chuck some clubs into disarray as they're unable to replace players.
